I've been having interesting dreams lately. And they're starting to make me doubt my religion. For those of you who have seen me debate, feel free to call me a hypocrite. I really don't care. I need to get through this.
My latest dream, which I just woke up from around 8 this morning, really has me puzzled. I don't remember much, but the stuff that I do remember has me in a lot of doubt.
I remember getting lost at night and then seeing a crowd. I followed the crowd into this huge mansion. It went up a mile high and there was a gorgeous glass roof. The whole place was marble, onyx and gold. I walked through a gate and then went up a ramp to get to an elevator to take me to the top. There were like 10 other people on the elevator with me and they all looked...hypnotized. Their faces were drained; everything and everyone suddenly seemed gray. We finally got to the top, and there was music! Loud, pumping dance music. I looked around, and there was a huge hole in the middle of the floor, that looked like something chewed it up. Then a mile down was the entrance to the mansion. We all heard a voice to line up against the walls, and this place was huge. So there were hundreds of people lined up on the walls on this football sized floor. I'll have to draw a picture later.
Anyways, so then the voice came up again and told us to grab the ribbons at our feet. It was pretty ribbon, silky and had the little pieces of lace on the sides. There were three pieces attached to a metal block which was glued down to a colored tile. Depending on the color of the ribbons and the tile, you got a unique party outfit. I was on a red tile with 3 beige ribbons, and I ended up getting a dress like Belle's (from Beauty and the Beast), but it wasn't yellow. It was a beige dress with red ribbons--the tile and the ribbon colors.
Anyways, this platform came down, and lo and behold Lucifer himself, decked in onxy and black diamond armor, holding a black steel staff with an opaque and dark crystal at the top. He held up his staff, hit the ground with it, and then the ribbons we were holding onto became chains. He told us then to dance.
I didn't want to dance, but he went over to a group of yellow-tiles (thats how we were sorted, was by color tile) and hit the ground with his staff again and they dissappated into flames and hit the ground in piles of embering ashes. I then gawked at the sight and then started kind of dancing. Bassically just stepping from side to side. He came over to the red-tiles and warned us. So then I wasn't dancing as much as he liked I guess, and he came over to me and ripped my heart out and tossed it on the ground. My chains disappeared and became ribbons again. I stayed in the dress though. My heart was rolling on the ground and was about to fall down to the ground a mile below. I reached for it and it rolled over the side. I layed/lied down by the edge and my eyesight became blurry. Then everything started turning black. I knew the only chance I had of surviving was if I fell and landed on one of the platforms below. The ground felt soft and squishy and I just rolled off the side. I was lucky enough to scrape against a wall and land on a platform. I still couldn't move very well, so I rolled off the side of that platform and hit the floor below. I didn't remember how I got there, and I instincitively went up to the elevator. But there were Meowth's and little small demon dogs that started chasing after me. Eventually I got out, and then after some weird stuff (which I don't think was really related to the part of the dream above) I woke up.
I'm sitting here thinking, "Where was God? Why didn't he save me?"
I know it was just a dream, but why didn't he?
The whole thing has me...puzzled.

i guess a dream is what you feel deep down i guess you feel not saying this is true but i guess you feel that god won't save you and it makes you scared. but remember god is a sould in the clouds looking over you and seeing what is happening but whatever happens to you is your destiny and i don't think god can interfear with destiny. i know that was oly a dream though so i'll leave you to ponder.

I know how badly dreams can mess up a person's perception. There are so many factors in your dream... maybe this isn't about your faith? It could be, but...
If we are allowed to post links to other sites, please go to dreammoods.com and see if you can find ANY possible reasons behind why your dream was extensive as it was. I've found dream analysis to help me out a LOT.
If you do this, can you post little tidbits to see what you found? Then maybe you can see if the dream was focusing around current events in your life (or even past), or perhaps your faith.
---
Dreams aside, you were thinking "Why didn't God save me?", but should He be required to? God takes many people without ever giving a reason why. But that doesn't mean there wasn't a reason behind it. Are you relying on Him too much right now, and not enough on yourself? Maybe your subconscious is trying to make you a bit more steady?
This has me puzzled, but HIGHLY interested. I hope you post more.

I don't think it has anything to due with your God. It's just a dream, sometimes dreaming up anything that even faintly crosses your mind can falter your judgment.
Why just last night I dreamed about being in a maze with two other of my classmates and we had to attack the different colored rooms with the corresponding Poke'mon attack (red room - fire attack blue room - water attack and so on) .... Well my point is that after I managed to get outside of the hallways I saw my class all neatly placed on a tarp. I joined them and suddenly we were on bleachers, holding on for our lives because a hurricane hit nearby and we were all being sucked in. Weird right? I also have those dreams were I get mortally wounded or hunted after.... it's nothing to fret about, it's only a dream.
Don't let it get to you. I'm sure if God knew you were in actual trouble then he would have protected you in some divine intervention. :D
I'm sure my dreams are much weirder than yours.

I've looked up a few things and what the could mean on sites (like dreammoods.com, thanks Chiairen!).
Some symbols, colors, etc that had me interested and that I feel are signifigant. (I'll try to put them in order.)
Mansion-To see a mansion in your dream, symbolizes your greatest potential and growth. You may feel that your current situation or relationship is in a rut.
Gold (physical)-To find gold in your dream, indicates that you have discovered something valuable about yourself. This may be some hidden talent or knowledge.
Gold (color)-The golden color reflects your spiritual rewards, richness, refinement and enhancement of your surroundings.
Onyx-To see onyx in your dream, represents spiritual and mental balance. It also symbolizes peace of mind.
Elevator-To dream that you are ascending in an elevator, signifies that you will quickly rise to status and wealth. You may have risen to a higher level of consciousness and are looking at the world from an elevated viewpoint.
Gray (color)-Gray indicates fear, fright, depression, ill health, ambivalence and confusion. You may feel emotionally distant or detached. Seeing it in the faces of people may imply these emotions.
Music-To hear discordant music in your dream, signifies unhappiness and troubles in the home.
Red Tiles-Red is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations.Red is also the color of danger, shame, sexual impulses and urges. Perhaps you need to stop and think about your actions. Nothing about tiles though.
Beige Ribbons-Beige represents the basics, the essentials and the barest form. It may also indicate your neutral or unbiased position. For a single person to dream that you are decorating yourself with ribbons, foretells that you may enter into a marriage based on frivolity. This may be a mistake. To see others decorated with ribbons in your dream, denotes that you will encounter a rivalry and have much obstacles in securing a husband or a commitment to a stable relationship.
Dress-To see or wear a dress in your dream, represents a feminine outlook or feminine perspective on a situation. You are freely expressing your femininity.
Devil-To see the devil in your dream, signifies negative aspects of yourself. It may also indicate feelings of guilt that you have been harboring. It is time to release these feelings. Alternatively, the devil may represent intelligence, cunningness, deception, and cleverness. To dream that the devil talks to you, signifies that you will find some temptations hard to resist even though you know it is not in your best interest.
Dancing-To dream that you are dancing, signifies freedom from constraints and harmony/balance with yourself. You are working in cooperation with yourself. It also represents frivolity, happiness, gracefulness, sensuality and sexual desires. Alternatively, it may signify intimacy and a union of the masculine and feminine aspects of yourself.
Chains-To see chains in your dream, signifies your need to break free from a routine, old idea, or a relationship. If you are being chained, then some part of you is being forcefully head in check.
Staff-To see a staff in your dream, indicates that you are looking for reassurance and support to your decisions. Alternatively, it represents a journey, either spiritually or physically.
Burning-To see something burning, indicates that you are experiencing some intense emotions and/or passionate sexual feelings. There is some situation or issue that you can no longer avoid and ignore. Alternatively, it may suggests that you need to take time off for yourself and relax.
Heart-To see your heart in your dream, signifies truth, courage, love, and romance. It is representative of how you are currently dealing with your feelings and expressing your emotions. Also consider the saying "the heart of the matter" which implies that you may need to get down to the core of a situation before proceeding.
Falling-falling is an indication of insecurities, instabilities, and anxieties. You are feeling overwhelmed and out of control in some situation in your waking life. This may reflect the way you feel in your relationship or in your work environment. You have lost your foothold and can not hang on or keep up with the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Meowth (Cat)-To see a cat in your dream, signifies much misfortune, treachery, and bad luck. If the cat is aggressive, then it suggests that you are having problems with the feminine aspect of yourself.
Dog-To see a dog in your dream, indicate a skill that you have ignored or forgotten, but needs to be activated.
Now, I always talk to 3 people when I have dreams that leave me puzzled and confused to a point where I can't think straight if I can't get answers. One is my ex, Paul. The other is Gabe (yes, the same Gabriel here on Mene), and my counselor at school. I called Paul and talked to him for an hour today about it, I haven't gotten the chance to call Gabe since this morning, and there's no way I can get a hold of my counselor.
Paul basically said that I was in some sort of predicament (the mansion), and that things were trying to tempt me and the darkness inside me is trying to overcome the light. When I fell down onto a platform after my heart was taken out, the way down was dimly lit. Paul said that I could look at it 2 different ways. One--darkness is trying to overcome me and the light won't be fully pentrated. Or two--vice versa. Though technically by religion, God has more power and control over peoples hearts, so he presumed that the former was the more accurate one. The darkness is trying but its failing to do so.
I'll update if/when I get feedback from Gabe.

Goodness, that's one symbolic dream. I'm not sure what to say, other than I think you probably have already been given good insight. ^^
