Would it look good/bad? {Hair issue + Request -maybe-} :o
Alright, so I'm extremely bored with my hair.
It's Blonde, straight, and boring. My issue isn't about the style or anything, it's the color. I've been a blonde all my life, and I'm quite bored with it. Blonde's do have more fun but we need a break sometimes! DD': I was thinking about dying my hair Black. Yes yes yes, I know, those silly jokes about blondes dying their black is something...can't remember the joke. D: But I think it will suit my life style and clothing style too. Can anyone Photoshop a picture of me (any would be fine, hell a couple of em of different pics would be great) with black hair? I know it won't exactly be the same as a real picture but I have to see what I would look like before I do anything. It will be for free but I can also spend a few gold here and there but you get the point. Questions: Would I look good with Black hair? Can anyone do my request? ;-; What would be the best dye to buy? (hahah dye to buy....get it?...>w>) How many times would I have to dye it each month(s) to keep it black? Any awesome hair styles I can use with it? D: |
Jet black hair will make you look very pale.
Of course some blondes have turned out great with dark black. My hair is also blonde, straight, and very boring. It has a bit of a wave, and that annoys me. If it was just a little straighter, or a little wavier, I'd be happy. So basically my hair seriously makes me angry. For a bit of a change, I usually just put a clip in it somewhere. I tried auburn hair for a while, and I LOVED it. So if you're ever out and about, try getting Henna. It will come in black too, and it's absolutely excellent for your hair too! A good way to test how your hair would look dark is to get it wet.
In my natural color (a dirty reddish blonde), when I'd get my hair wet, it'd look very very brown. I don't know how dark hair as light as yours would get when it's wet. There's an extremely temporary hair dye, I don't remember who makes it. But it's in an orange box (it's sort of targeted to young teens). I've tried that before. It actually lasted a few months, not 2 weeks like they said. But it's worth a try for you. It's also good to build up to your desired color. Start mild, and then get darker and darker. That way, you can see how you look with dark hair as you go along. For example, you might want to go with a dark blonde, a brown, and THEN a black. Lighter colors will wear off faster, and won't have the danger of looking too strong for your face. Also, you'll want to buy a brown eyebrow pencil. Mismatched eyebrows can look rather messy. ^^ A pure black could be too strong, just go with a brown. Uhm, I'm having problems explaining things tonight. Hope that made sense. ^^; |

Black looks so fake to me, on white people anyway.
If you did uber-dark brown, or if you put some really dark brown highlights/lowlights in black hair, it'd look much better. That's my opinion anyway. The dye Cherry mentioned is a good option to test out colors, though it may stain your hair so I'd recommend getting a box that's around your normal hair color just in case. |
Oh, what Cherry was talking about was L'Oreal Pulse, I believe? It's a mousse kind of thing that temporarily dyes your hair and washes out after 8 shampoos or something... I haven't tried it before, but my friend has. She had brown hair and she used a red color, and the results weren't bad, so I'm thinking the brand is good... Their website. They can let you "test" out how it would look with your hair color, but I don't think have one for blonde hair for the black one... |

My hair is very dark when it gets wet. =o (I wanna see it dark and floooffyy not straight and well....wet.) ::Hates wet hair:: Hmmm...well the thing is, I don't want to do the stages of dying my hair. It's either I keep it as it is, or I'll jump right in! I'll have to convince my mom as well. D: She says it'll look disgusting on me, but psshh what does she know? I don't think black would look the best on you, Although maybe black underneath your blonde and streaked would.
I do think you'd be better off trying another lighter colour first though, just to make sure you want to make it darker. |

Oh, I forgot to mention. That hair color (the one tenten said was the one I was thinking of) comes off on things for the first few washes. So if you choose that one, wear black after you shower or get wet, and don't sleep on your pillow case, unless it is black or dark. And use dark towels.
Normal hair dyes don't do that, though. And some don't even last as long as the pulse does. XDD I wish I could remember the brands of some of the hair dyes I've used, then I could recommend one that doesn't last long. Cause I know there was one I tried that faded REALLY fast. Well, if you don't want to go through the stages, then I'd say just go for it. Just try to get one that fades fast, in case you don't like it. And have hats and hoodies on hand if you hate it. XD |

I dunno...but black hair coupled with eyeliner'll make you look a bit...emo and depressed. And since your skin is light, it'll make you look pale.

hold the phones i actually know this one! you need to get someone to photomanipulate your picture to black hair (sorry i'm not good enough at it yet to do that) and you can easily see what you would look like. *goes off to see if a very talented person is around my yim*

My roommate is a natural blond and she dyes her hair a dark red color.. maroonish. I think that sort of color would look much much better on you than jet black. The black always look fake and yucky. I think it'll make you look really pale. Also.. it's really hard to get rid of once you've done it. If you try to strip your hair it'll turn a fugly orange color.

I wouldn't dye it a dark color. It'll make you look like a vampire..^^ I wouldn't really dye it. Maybe you can dye it golden brown! |
