no money in the famliy

My dad and step mom may not get X-miss gifts to us. I know that we don't have a lot of money but I don't want to see everyone sad. :cry:

Also my bothers car had to fixed and it cost them a lot.

And I need money to take kniting classes.

Should I ask for money?

I only work 3 hours. Yes. I'm getting my GED.

My suggestion. Try a more tactical approach to see what can be allowed in their budget. If you need to, I would find a different job or pick up more hours at your current one so that you can save for some knitting classes and for other things that you want to enjoy in life.

Christmas is also about the spirit. Try making them something instead of buying! I guess that's why you need the knitting classes though. D:

You don't need to give tangible gifts. Maybe offer to clean the house, pet-sit, go out to a park together, or other things you can do without spending money.

We're going through the same issue. We had a huge issue that costed us alot. My parents had to homeschool me because private schools were too expensive and my public schools are hella corrupt. So my books cost a lot. The best thing to do in these situations, I've learned is to make the best of it. I don't think you should ask for money because it's money you can't afford to let go of right now. Instead go to the library and check out a book on how to knit or you can see if they have videos on Youtube.com on how to knit. I would love to take art classes but I know we don't have the money so I just watch the programs on tv or look through intructional books. If they don't get you presents, it won't matter so much. On xmas day go out really early and spend all day walking around a city (if you live nearby) or you can spend the day doing something with your family that won't cost so much, but its still loads of fun. Don't be sad, just think of it as a way to be creative ^^

You can make presents! =D

Haven't you heard the "It's the thought that counts." ?
I believe it's very true, and you can just make them pretty cards, or knit them gloves! :]

I suggest trying to get a more steady job. I did graduate from HS, and I'm currently going to college, but the job I have is only a little above entry level...and I'm making about $11.10 an hour. SO I'm definitely doing pretty well.

And I don't really think that you should ask for money because if your whole family is struggling, they need to save, not spend more money on luxuries. :(

I can understand where you are coming from. My family has never been very financially secure and it was only made worse by the fact that my parents had 5 kids -.-;;
I would definitely consider getting either more hours or a second job. I did 2 part-time jobs in high school and once I get done my first semester at college, I'm going to get a part time job (maybe even two).
