If anyone will remember, I posted a thread a long time ago about my dad not letting me shave. I sort of gave up for a while.
But last night I looked at my face, actually LOOKED for the first time in a while.

I'm getting black hairs on my frickin' cheek. They're pretty noticeable. I asked him today if I could shave. He told me no! >: O
This makes me so mad. It's not fair!

He keeps telling me I'm too young. I am NOT! I am 14 years old, 15 in august. I don't want the hair on my face! It just isn't fair for him to not let me. I don't want to be seen in public with this! *cries*

Edit: Resolved, can be locked...Or it can be kept open, for any future discussion about shaving? No? Okay. Lock XD

Tell him, in England that's the second to last year of highschool.

Hey, in America you can drive at 16 right? If you're old enough to learn to drive then your old enough to shave. You guys can learn to drive about a year before you can actually apply for the license right?

Wow...
I would say that you aren't too young...My guy friends all started shaving when they were 13 so 14 doesn't seem young at all!
If I were you I would just do it anyway...and not tell him. But that's just me....

That seems sorta...surreal. I've always thought the age you started shaving had more to do with when you started getting fuzzy faced than when someone decided you had to be some kind of arbitrary age. "Too Young" is a very strange argument. It's not exactly quite in the same league as being old enough to drink or old enough to learn to drive.

Uhm, hello, do it anyway, and if he has a problem with it, tell your mom, if you have one anyway.

I know you all mean well by telling me to do it anyway, but...I don't know. I can't bring myself to do that D: I'm a goody-two-shoes kind of person, I guess...I'd just like permission, and I just don't understand *why* he won't let me in the first place.

Tell your dad its either he lets you shave or you'll commit suicide.

I did that once to go out.

Didn't work. But maybe it will for you. :3

I agree with others just shave. I don't know what is up with your dad, but you start when you need to start not when you hit a special age. Where did he get that one?

My parents always said I was too young to shave, but their argument was once I started shaving, the hair was going to coem in darker and thicker. But ur gunna have to do it eventually anyways. haha.

I started shaving anyways, even though they told me not to. What's ur dad gunna do? glue the hair back on? lol

Yeah I tend to be a goody-two-shoes also...
Maybe wait a little bit or show him the hair. And then if he still says no. Ask why he thinks you are too young cause like Nightgaunt said there really shouldn't be an age limit on shaving, you should just do it when you have hair...

Emo: I HAVE showed him the hair. And I asked him why, he just keeps telling me I'm too young, and 'because he said so' It's just so frustrating!

He's told me before that it's such a hassle to shave. I KNOW that. That's not a problem for me. It's something I do NOT want, which means I'll definitely keep shaving it, even if it gets boring. I've told him this as well. Nothing works.

Okay seriously now.

I think you shouldn't shave unless your dad permits it. Breaking rules isn't going to get you anywhere. Imagine if you shave, then you get grounded for a month, and your hair grows in a week. Waste of time huh? Just wait it out. Trust me you'll get bored of shaving, I'm 16 and I have hair on my face already and I get bored of shaving it every day. Shaving doesn't make you cool or anything either. So to heck with it. Just wait it out.

Tell him most franchise companies wont hire a "scruffy unshaven person"... ever... being shaved is required at jobs where customer service is important... if you don't... you supposedly get fired o.o

Did you ever think that he might be concerned that you don't know what you're doing even if you think you do and that you might cut yourself?

Yeah...
I'm not sure what to do, I'm sorry I can't help...
I didn't have the same problem...I just asked my mom if I could start shaving my legs and she said she didn't care, mostley because she didn't want to hear me complain about it.
But you could always do what I do and use your friends as an example. And if he says the whole "If your friends jumped off a bridge would you?" I usually say "No, but that isn't the same. All I want to do is shave, it's not like I want to do anything too big."
You know what I am trying to say? If not let me know Lol.

@Kaze: He should probably ask his father what to do or to show him how, just in case. Regardless of the method of shaving.

Not really. Who was it. some chick in the exchange had it in her sig. Some shit like 's'long Val, thanks for everything' and blah blah farewells. I'm not looking for a fight. Don't be so defensive?

Andre: I know it'll get boring. Everything does when you do it a lot. But you need to understand. I hate body hair. It's disgusting in my opinion, and I'm honestly not doing this to be cool. I want to do it because I hate the hair on my face SO much.

Valedia: I don't claim to know how to shave, but I do know I'll learn, it can't be *that* hard.
