Well, I'm over a week late but I have just started getting little pains. Not like menstrel pains at all, more like a slight dull ache. I've tried looking it up on the internet and I found one bit of information from a girl who is a few days pregnant getting litle pains too. Is it possible to get pains so early into pregnancy? I really need this confirming. I'm not going to get a test yet as I can't get one till payday which is 2 weeks away. And it's hard for me to leave the house (borderline agoraphobic) so I'm hoping someone can tell me. ^^;

It's different for everyone, so I don't really want to say for certain either way.

I know that my mother, for example, started experiencing symptoms very early on in her pregnancy. When she was just a few weeks pregnant, she could smell raw meat on everything; the house smelt of raw meat, the street outside smelt of raw meat, the bus smelt of raw meat... it wasn't until she got to work and realised that even her computer smelt of raw meat, that she finally thought that something was odd.

The only way to know for sure is to get a pregnancy test, but keep an eye out for other symptoms; like nausea (at any time of day, "morning sickness" isn't always in the morning!) cravings, suddenly going off foods you usually like, mood swings, heartburn (although I think that one is usually more common later on in the pregnancy) tiredness, phantom smells, food not tasting like it usually does etc.

But don't get your heart set on a pregnancy just yet! Remember that your body is a very complicated thing, and a whole myriad of things can cause both late periods and stomach pains.

Thankyou for the info. And it's ok, I'm not set on being pregnant! I'm not too thrilled about the idea of growing up yet, even though I'm 23!! XD I hope I don't smell raw meat everywere... I hate the smell of raw meat :( lol

With neither of my boys did I have pains early in the pregnancy... But I got sick with my youngest and STAYED sick until the the 4th or 5th month! You should see if there is a planned parenthood somewhere they offer free tests and then will start you on your way to getting good prenatal care! That is VERY important especially early in the pregnancy!

Yeah like everyone else has said, get a test done just to make sure ^_^
If you're a week late, it could be for other reasons, rather than pregnancy :3 stress, change in diet, traveling, there's other reasons I can't think off the top of my head right now xD
Simply put, don't get too worked up if you are. Get a test done just to be sure :)

Sometimes when I'm late for my period, I get really bad cramps that don't feel like they belong to a period. x.o And I've never had sex, so I know for sure I've never been pregnant. xD Your body just might be going through some stress. Is there anyone you can ask to get you a test?

It would be really hard to tell. Every one is so different. I did not know until I was 6 months along. I was heavy but not that heavy but I just did not show. Plus I thought I was but the doctors told me I could not have a baby because I did not produce two types of hormones. But I had the tummy aches and stuff.. could not hold anything down. I lost between 20 to 30 pounds.

At my 7th month I put on a belly and you could tell I was lol. I do not know what happened the first 6 why I did not show. My daughter now 3 will be 4 in May. She was a really small baby 5 pounds 9 ounces.

I told the doctors if I am not pregent there is something wrong because something is moving in there lol. And they said it was just IBS lol.

My husband later went back and showed the doctor a picture of my IBS lol

Thanks everyone. The pains aren't as bad as my period pains so tha's what made me wonder. The truth is, I'm worried about getting a test because if I am, I don't know how people will take it. Especialy my fiancee :( he said he doesn't want a baby while I am still living with my parents (though my mum wants me too so she can be around to help me through the 1st few months) mixed feelings I guess. There's no free family planning clinic around where I am, but I think my regular GP will do it free. I will call today and see. I will let you all know when I get an appointment ^^

I'd just like to say that when I was first pregnant I was constipated for the first week. I know it sound gross but that's what happened to me. I don't remember much else, sorry.

I found out I was pregnant when I went to the doctor because I was vomiting blood. I had no idea until then, so it night be, but you could also just be late. Are you normally regular? I'm not at all, which is why I didn't think anything of it when I was a little late. Well, my advice is to get tested. Good luck, and if you are, good luck with that. Hope it goes better than mine did, I was really sick, and lost about 30 pounds. i know what you mean about not wanting to grow up, I'm only 19. Children really are a gift though, and I hope everything goes well for you.

I'm not to sure. xD
It could be stress, when I thought I was pregnanet I got bad pains in my stomach due to over-stressing and that also delayed my period. -w-' Jeez I was freaked out.

Oh, Midian I was just thinking - I have had a period be over 2 weeks late because of major stress in my life - it is possible that this is what you are experiencing.

I took a test and it was negative :( gonna wait another week and if I still don't get my period I will see my GP. But, when I told my fiancee I was disappointed that it was negative... He told me to stop taking the pill! So we are now officially trying for a baby!!

No offence, but when you first thought you were pregnant you were not happy - you did not seem as if you wanted it - what changed, may I ask? I am just worried that you will regret this spur of the moment decision and it's not fair to bring a baby into this world on some whim of a decision like that. Also if you are missing your period and are NOT preggers, something could be medically wrong with you and that something could hurt your baby if you get pregnant - get yourself all checked out by a doc BEFORE you try getting pregnant. PLEASE. For the safety of your baby.

I was worried about it and not 100% happy because I thought my fiancee would take it badly. I always thought he wasn't ready and didn't want one yet, especialy while we live with my parents. But we talked about it and it turns out that he always said we should wait because he wasn't sure I wass ready and he didn't want me to regret it. But he does want a child with me, we are both so excited right now and after agreeing that the time is right our relationship has been filled with more love and positive feelings. We didn't realise how much the other person wanted this. It's funny, we both thought the other person didn't want a child yet but it turned out to be a big missunderstanding. ^^

I am going to get in with my GP and we are going to talk everything through 100% Although my fiancee and I want a child, we want to be sure that I am healthy enough to carry it, also, obviously to see if I can get pregnant in the first place.

So you think that you are pregnant? I can't really remember if I had any pains early when I was pregnant. But I know I always get them now! I'm 5 and a half months. >.< Having a little baby girl. <3

You should definetly get a test soon!

Maybe it is possible to get minor aches and such during early pregnancies... I get aches all the time now. And it sucks!
