I'm doing cross country next fall. Never done it before. I've recently started running and really enjoy it. Even if I suck, oh well, it'll help me improve. There are no cuts in XC.

I want to go out for spring track, but that's tough. They make a lot of cuts.

The problem is my winter sport. I know indoor track would keep me in better shape and give me the best chance of making spring track. But swimming is so much fun, and I'm pretty good at it. But I don't want to hurt my running because of swimming. I mean, I love them both equally. I need to pick now so I know whether to train for swimming or not.

Opinions?

I say pick the running one, and see how it is for this year. If you end up not liking it, then there's no harm in not doing it again next year becuase you've found out you don't enjoy it as much as swimming. =3

True.

And I really don't want to lose my running ability. I'm lazy, and if I don't have practice and meets and such I wind up out of shape. I'm great at finding reasons -not- to do something.

Focus on track primarily...but as another way to strengthen leg muscles and for a change go for a swim on some occasions. Just for something different. :D

I agree,
Do running.
So if you don't enjoy running,
you'll have stronger leg muscles for swimming
(:
