soo I've been gaining weight for six months now, nothing big, but it shows. it's just that I've been wondering why it only appears on my lower tummy, and it looks a lot like I'm pregnant or something, since it's like a ball .. D: then it hit me, it's a BEER BELLY! except that I don't drink beer, but I drink other alcohol...
so my question is, does it go away if I stop drinking or do I need to exercise?
is it just bloating?
I've been drinking almost every weekend since winter or something, and sometimes in the middle of the week too since I don't have much work to do, and our friends just looove to come to our place to hangout and drink... it didn't occur to me that I'd actualyl get a beer belly.. xD

I've been getting more of a belly too!. I'm happy to gain weight, except I want it on my upper body and arms.

I find that during winter i always put on a few pounds because i tend to eat a lot of hot rich food. And i always gain the weight on my lower stomach so it looks like a beer belly.
Only exercise and calorie control on what you eat then you will lose it in no time at all.
Have to start now to get my body ready for summer and my bikini.

I highly doubt that it's a beer belly, actualy. I think it's just some extra weight. As you get older, weight gaining usualy goes in spots on your body; it's doesn't always even out.
I would just exersise a bit more; run around the block, or something. =3

Well that's just it, as you grow older, your metabolism slows down, so even if you're not eating anything extra, as you have in the past, you'll still gain weight if you're exersing regulary. =3

Different people gain weight in different areas from what I've seen. There are those lucky few women who gain in the breasts, I get it in the bum and thighs, and my friend gets a lower belly like you.
I'd suggest crunches, or where you lay on your back, lift legs to 90 degree angle from the floor and lower them slowly to the floor and bring them back up. I think those are supposed to work that area of the tummy specifically. Cutting back on the drinks might help too but it could just be where you gain your weight so the drinks might not be the only thing contributing to it (ie eating habits).

Lucky?....I really do NOT want to gain weight in my boobs. I hate big boobies. If it has to go somewhere, put it on my thighs please.

Alcohol will cause you to gain weight, it has lots of calories. Try exercising a little more. Also, I find when I drink, I tend to want to eat a lot. Maybe try cutting back on the alcohol and exercising.

a beer belly is a general term for drinking alcohol not just beer so ya it could be a beer belly. if u stop drinking alcohol u'll stop retaining so much water and u will lose some of that weight but u mite have to do some xtra exercize to get rid of it all. and ya when u get older u'll tend to gain weight in certain places so just try to watch that.

I have always had a little pouch on my tummy, but now that I've started to drink so often it has become a ball.. D: besides, the swelling goes down if I don't drink in a while.. maybe if I stop drinking so often it'll go down to my normal pouch x3

Cut down on the drinking than. You can eat that ever you want.
Just have small amounts at a time.

Heh I'm the opposite, don't have much up top but years of ballet and martial arts put too much on my legs and now I can't get rid of anything there. I would love more curve up top to at least balance out my legs >< Guess no matter what, there will always be something about one's body that they would want changed, right?
