I feel like I am much better now n_n
And here we go with the "you must be crazy you cant say that because of a stupid online site" but yes I can....
I am an admin in another site...I do work there every single day...I give people my best I help everyone and I suggest new stuff and create ideas for it I honestly give it my best... Still some people doesnt like me...and they try to sabbotage my function there...mostly by going to the owner telling him I have an attitude...and that I play bossy... I got told by the owner ...and it is not the first time.... I feel that life online is being so unfair....because as I told him...this is happening because I actually do work...this is happening because I am the one who does everything....instead some other staff members just lay there in their positions trying not to show up often because they are scared to be kicked...so they choose the safe way...being unoticed is to play safe...they "pretend" they do but they dont show up, dont participate, dont do a thing....that way is easier...no conflict ..no exposure...no chance to be told off... I really feel unfairness has fallen over me....I feel discriminated by the fact that English is my second language so I cannot defend myself when someone accuses me of bossy ...because I try not to sound like that but it is difficult to wirte in English and not to sound "bossy" when there are things to do...besides the jokes and the tone of things are not the same in English than in Spanish.... I think people love backstab one to eachother....and that is something I hate....I feel so bad right now...like I am worth nothing...and I have given it all.... I dont know if someone will read this...but please if you do...dont use it against me will you? I'm here to find some answers...to feel a bit better...and to stop being depressed and thinking stupid things... thanks |
I don't like Gaia. Now I realize, there are now lots of stupid oblivious and obnoxious people there... ever since Gaia was advertising on other sites and stuff.
I would feel really bad when I was on that site about making people wait. But, I ended up getting scammed... because I trusted someone stupid... Maybe you should, before typing, say that your first language isn't english? People are so critical of the way people type sometimes, and if you say your first language isn't english they would treat you nicer and not take what you say the wrong way. I'm sorry That website and your boss treat you that way, I'm sure if you explain to him he'll understand. Try not to drown yourself in sorrow and go do something fun~ Does your boss know why? |
Darling, the very fact that you know as much English as you do just shows that you are a hard-working, dedicated individual. You haven't given up, and every day is a learning experience. At this point, you can only get better. ^_^
As for your boss, if the situation is truly that bad, maybe you need to branch out to a new site? A bad work environment can only create negativity, and I'm sure your work would be appreciated elsewhere. I suggest trying to find another site, and if you do find another place to be an administrator or another job that you feel comfortable with, leave where you are now. People can be cruel. It's times like that when you have to set an example and be strong, for others to watch on and realize how wrong you're being treated and how wonderful you are. Because you are. n.n I wish you luck. If a few words on the screen are stressing you out as much as this, my advice is the quit. I really don't think a position of power in a game is worth the crap. I mean, its a game. You joined it because it was fun, you wanted to help out because it was fun.
When you're one of the 'higher ups', there will always be a person that hates you. You have to be able to cope with criticism and defend your choices as needed. And things wont' always go your way. If you can't handle that, you really should quit and go back to enjoying the site as a normal player. EDIT: And when I say quit, I mean from being admin. If you still like the site as a normal player, no need to leave. |

If this is about Gaia. I had some problems there with a certain mod. They accused me of doing two things: One which happens by accident due to lag and another thing which I never engage in. I know the real reason is something else and they just had to invent something to get rid of me.
I was going to abandon this account a while back, except I was super busy and going on a bike trip. I am still trying to create a new account to move my stuff. I think once I abandon the account that is under "attack" I'll be OK. None of my other three accounts have been "attacked". Quitting or abandoning your account is the solution. If the problem is another person who has it out for you for some reason, then you have to be more private. Because of this mod, I am now only posting on private guilds. For all I know they'd keep inventing new false accusations until my account got banned and I couldn't do anything about it. If I was falsely accused of botting, I'd be banned on the spot without being able to do anything. |
Thank you guys I think I need to re think some things and see if I can continue working but this time not feeling myself so crappy because as you said here it is just a game...and I know I do a lot for the site and some people see it believe me I have been told so I feel better.

As far as what's going on, I think that people right now are a bit hyper sensitive, because well you know why. There's such a fear of creating drama that more is created because of it. I'm not exactly sure who is pming the owner, but you have to look at from their point of view. The feel hurt because they did something wrong and because you were the one that mentioned it your their natural target. I know that really is unfair and sucks which it does, but it means that you are doing your job right. I want you to know though that I am here for you, if you ever need help or just want a hug. I think now we just need to give things a bit of time to settle, and everything will be alright. |
u don't get in trouble with the site owner for doing everything rite, ur OBVIOUSLY doing something wrong. if ur seriously taking everyone's opinions here like they mean something when u didn't even tell them the whole story, there's something wrong wit u. the best advice ur gonna get is to accept and admit u screwed up instead of looking for ppl who don't know anything about wat happened to make u feel better.

x_x Ugh. This sort of thing really doesn't surprise me, especially on a site run by a kid. Honestly I've noticed that a lot of these avatar sites are not exactly run professionally and while I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes with the mods and admins, I can't imagine it is always professionalism. I think a lot of times too that power goes to people's heads. They are made mod and so they think they can just push everyone else around, including the other mods. That's not how it should be but all too often that's how it is. Don't kill yourself over a site. Take a break from a little while. If it gets too terrible, quit your position there and just be a regular member, or quit the site entirely if they are bothering you that much. If you really hate the idea of quitting either though, just ignore those people. There's certain people on certain sites that I just always avoid because I've seen that they have nothing nice to say to me. So I don't even post in the areas that they post in because I don't want to deal with it, and I shouldn't have to deal with it. Also you have to remember a lot of the people on these sites are kids and aren't very mature, this includes members, mods, admins, and owners of the site, and a lot of them just haven't grown up yet enough to realize how they should treat people, especially if they are part of a website's staff.

I am going to have to say as well if this is about gaia. Kinda described like it. I have been on there since July 2003. I have to honestly say that site is more crooked then an oldmans back with multiple scoliosis(?)
There has always been people who do shady things on there in all sorts of weaving of the truth and lies to get what they want. With moderators and some admins to back them up. Really, no online site, or even anything in the real world is worth getting that upset over. People suck in general. You always have people who hate everything because it doesnt agree with them. You know what I say to that? Fuck'em. They aren't worth losing sleep over. =) Enjoy life and just keep doing what you think is right. Fuck what other people think. |

If they don't appreciate all your work, then I think you should just stop being an admin on the site. You could even just quit and stop returning there, because if it's making you feel depressed and suicidal, then it's definitely not worth your time.
The people insulting you are most likely introverts who feel poorly about themselves, and therefore, must resort to insulting and discriminating against someone that they've likely never met in real life to boost their self-confidence. On an online site like that, your number one goal should be to feel good about yourself and to have fun, and not to stress about what faceless people think about you. :] People do get off on making other people feel bad, which seems ridiculous, but sadly, it's true. So cheer up! :] Just because people say you're bad doesn't mean you're bad. ;] Nobody has a right to tell you who or what you are. |

to have a complete idea of what is going on you should have given both sides to the story. and as an admin you should back up the site you work on not drag it threw the mud to get attention yes?
I think you are hiding here to protect yourself there. but you know what was really going on and you also know you have been out of line on more then one occasion which again brings me back to it seems you are only trying to get attention here for yourself so you dont "feel so bad" the mere fact that your title of this thread is you feel like killing yourself over a site shows you really aren't mature enough for that type of a position on a site. admins should be mature and Strong and do things neutrally not throw temper tantrums when they aren't getting the attention or getting their way the way they want it. |

Administrators definitely need to be neutral til all the situations are heard before making any judgement or acting upon it. Whether you are drawing attention or not, everyone ultimately learns and be a better. I think you are doing fine and will learn to deal with this situations that arise. I have faith in you.

Hey if you're getting complaints about being bossy then I will say GOOD JOB to you!!
I've worked in a team on several "projects" and yea, it is tough to be fair. You have to be bad in order to be fair especially when everyone else is corrupt and just playing around. Players will ask for stupid things and when you give them NO for an answer, negativity builds. Some people are just afraid of being hated, that that is the worst thing for them. But I feel that respect is better and believing in your values and morals is better and is what will really shine in the result. So the other staff hate you for doing things; it is probably just jealousy. There is nothing wrong with doing what you should and giving a little more. If they do not feel that way, then they are not worthy of your worries. So stop worrying and just continue doing your best. Your boss will recognize that. |
