I don't do well sitting bored. It...it pisses me off. Because I do it so much. I don't have a social life, at all really. I have friends, but most of them I don't like that much and only talk to them because they won't leave me alone or they have no other friends. I think too much, and I like it that way. But come summer, there's nothing for me to think about. I feel like my brain's rotting.

Normal teenagers go to the beach. I can't do that, because my parents work. No one invites me anywhere, probably because, despite having a ton of acquaintances, I'm socially a failure because I'm paranoid and get good grades (top grades on the Sharks for 07-08 thank you very much). I have a short attention span, so it's hard for me to occupy myself with a project or something. I have summer reading that I haven't done yet, but it won't take me more than a week sooo...

I want so badly to be normal. I want to be a normal teenager who loves summer, and I want friends, real ones. I want to know what it's like to be having a good time during a 3 month break from school. I want a life.

I hate sitting around wallowing in my self-pity, but I can't find anything better to do.

Help me. It's the second day of my summer and I've already spent more time on the computer than I normally do in two weeks.

Ummm, lets see.
I'm like you, partially.
I never really get invited anywhere. If i want to do something, i've got to ask my friends if they want to do something with me.
If you want friends, go somewhere you like, find people there and chat or something. I don't know, I never did anything like that... I'm too shy.

Find something You really like and do it!! ummm yeah!

I don't know, I'm a failure at this too...
I am cleaning my room like mad now, getting rid of stuff that i should have gotten rid of years ago...

Oh, how much we are alike in this prospect. I hate Summer.

I've had a lot of bad things happen to me during my Summers, so that usually sticks in my head when the next Summer comes along. And I don't go anywhere that often either. But I try and keep myself occupied with the things I like to do. Or attempting at getting a job to keep your mind off of things is probably your best bet. Then you'll have money to save and spend for things you like to make yourself happier.

ouh i know just how you feel. My summers used to be just like that when I was a teenager... my friends went away for summer or didn't really care enough to invite me anywhere, I was alone the whole summer, inside my house... nothing to do.
It can really drive you crazy not being able to talk to anyone for almost two months.. >.< other than your family that is..
on top of that I had troubles sleeping, so I'd stay awake until 6am or something, and woke up at 3pm..

I suggest you try to find some new cool hobby. One summer, I started to exercise. weight lifting, running, sit ups, anything! Drawing something you really like works too xP just try drawing the characters of your favorite show or something!
Any kind of hobby would be great. :3 now you have the time to devote yourself to it.

I understand you completely. I happens to me every year. This year I'm gonna change it. By doing little things like discover things to do. Like to make new food because I never cooked before. Try on some artsies stuff. Get a job to earn some money and get new experience. There is so much to do, just force yourself a bit. :3

 I... actually have the opposite problem. My friends are always go go go go, and I get to a point where I'm sick of seeing them.

Maybe this is the time to try out a bunch of new things? Like Sadistic said, getting a job might not be that bad. You could even make new friends there and learn to love it. ^_^

Ah, don't worry, even some of us older people don't have an opportunity to do much... Most of my friends are busy or are somewhat harder to actually contact (all 7 of them xDD). I know how you feel, because some of them are throwing parties, but they live kind of far, so it's not very convenient to actually go to their parties and socialize.... because of the economy and how it's not easy to afford gas, etc.

.... And public transportation is pitiful around here... most lines only run a few times a day, and not at very convenient times...

Well, I suggest that you start taking up new things that you never thought about before... or things you think that you would hate because it falls under the category of something *Like, learning sewing techniques, even though you think that's for old ladies or whatever*. You can actually be productive with the time that you have over your break. You can always try to figure out new things to do right in your area that you live in too, that wouldn't be too inconvenient to go to, so you don't worry your parents (but make sure they know too.)
