I have the same issue somewhat. I have some really dark and noticeable hairs on my upper lip and my chin. I trim them off with a trimmer and I think that really works, cept, you have to keep doing it or it looks funny. D: To me anyways.

The shaving thing is just a myth, as Bramsy said. Everyone has a little bit of peach fuzz on their face... I've shaved mine for over a year and if anything it seems to grow back less often and softer. If yours grows more than other women it could be a sign of a hormonal imbalance. Have you ever brought these concerns up with a doctor? It would probably be a good idea to get your hormones and endocrines checked to be on the safe side... a full blood panel can do you some good. There are also several conditions that may lead to excess hair growth in women. Have you ever had an irregular menstrual cycle?

Yes being extra hairy is genetic...Sorry.

from someone who also has to deal with body hair thats annoying, i don't know what happens if you shave your lip hair. i just deal with it. its usually part of your gene pool (trust me, i know from my own experiences with my gene pool) Don't worry about it too much, you'll find someone who finds you drop dead sexy no matter the hair (my boyfriend finds what i have cute)
but if you consider doing anything about it, i would look it up or consult a professional.

Shaving and it growing back two times longer is a total myth. I used to shave my legs everyday -.-;; but now that I have no job, no school, no where to go... I don't see a point in shaving, lol. Yes, at first the hair is thicker, and looks longer (but it isn't... it's temporarily sticking out instead of laying flat down). But in about a weeks time, it goes back to normal thin hair.

Waxing is a great idea for your back, arms, legs, and anywhere else. For the face, noooo. And since you have darker skin, bleaching is out of the question as well :/ I believe shavers, and tweezers are your best bet...

LOL ~ I grow a bit of hair on my face and back and stuff. It's not that bad is it?
Maybe you're just over-reacting.
But maybe if it's that bad you could apply those facial cream that doesn't make your hair grow instead of shaving, which makes it grow faster.

I also grow tons of Hair,
I could be and issue called Hirsutism which causes the female to have embalanced hormones, (a little more male than female) The best thing as I have been told is to keep shaving when hair comes back.
