What's OP/EP? o.oo Opening ... Ending something?

spunky 04-30-2013 05:34 PM

yeah opening songs and ending songs to that particular anime/show.

xuvrette 04-30-2013 05:35 PM

Opening song, Ending Song. You are right.
XD

I notice that many US series drama, their opening is just a minute of music... some even without lyrics. Like... CSI, numb3rs, Leverage...

But Anime... So far ALL of them have their OWN OP, ED and OST. Original Sound Track.
By the way. Detective Conan had changed their OP and ED for so MANY times. like 3 months a new OP/ED. x.x it is like... every... 15 episodes.

PWEEP 04-30-2013 05:36 PM

Oh! Neat. I was right. Yeah, I do that too. I have the songs from Deathnote, and Vampire Knight.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-30-2013 05:37 PM

Hummy, how come you didn't learn more Japanese while you were there? [:?]

spunky 04-30-2013 05:39 PM

i am a huge fan of Detective Conan. i like how some of their ops and eps have english and japanese words in them.

because everyone wanted to practice their english.

lunanuova 04-30-2013 06:39 PM

I find learning a new language quite difficult as I am more of a visual person, so learning by text can sometimes go straight through my brain and drift away.

xuvrette 04-30-2013 06:45 PM

lol Hummymy. It can still work if the local want to learn English.
You speak Japanese they speak in English. 8D

Spunkyky~ yeah... it is hard to find pure Japanese lyrics now. Especially when the audience is a rather modern age, target audience is teenagers... like 15 and above, so they do know a few English words. Though because of Conan being a cute little kid, some younger ones do watch it too.

spunky 04-30-2013 06:48 PM

rette; do you still watch detective conan? i haven't watched the recent episodes lately.
luna; i definitely need in-class instruction to learn a language. it helps when the rest of the class speaks in the foreign language so we are all completely immersed.

xuvrette 04-30-2013 07:26 PM

Yep. Follow to Japan's updates. <33
I love my fansub.

Watching all those anime in their original voice act is one of the way I get use to Japanese.

whitexsuicide 04-30-2013 07:30 PM

I have learned Japanese, Spanish, and Sign Langue! I would love to learn more Japanese and Sign Langue~ And To know a langue like German or Russian would be fantastic!

Since peeps seem to be talking about Anime, I'll say this: I never really picked up any Japanese just from watching a show, and am amazed when people do.

The Wandering Poet 04-30-2013 07:41 PM

I know enough Japanese to have very light conversation and ensure they know I am very inexperienced while being able to figure out bits of a conversation.

As for new languages I want to learn Celtic or something of that general area with my partner someday ^^

Cherry Who? 04-30-2013 09:18 PM

I'll be studying German for my language gen ed requirements in college. [:)] I'm also interested in learning Russian, though that may never happen... English is heavily influenced by German, so learning German looks relatively easy. Russian, however, is very different. Different alphabet, even! Not to mention that it's not exactly popular here, so I'm not sure if I'd ever be able to use it.

PWEEP 04-30-2013 09:30 PM

I know someone from Russia, so if you need help, maybe I can ask her your questions [yes]

Oh my gosh. That's hilarious! xD!
Though, in their position, I'd do the same. "You know Japanese? SPEAK TO ME IN JAPANESE."

Yes, that is quite a feat. I do watch a lot of foreign films, but they never helped me...probably due to sub titles. x3

I completely agree. Watching anime helps me get used to the tone and dialect. It also helps me by increasing my vocabulary. I already learned quite a few words from watching anime.

Well, I might as well ping him to the thread for you, xuvrette.
Paranoid Doll:; Come here please, darling. We're in need
of your assistance mayhaps? Shed a little light, post a little
stuff. Just for people. Come on out and don't be shy, I'm here
for you. > _ >U

I'm a rubbish teacher though. I honestly think the only reason
why I learned so much is because sometimes, he'll just start
speaking to me in Japanese because he misses home. I really
sort of learned to help him feel not so home sick... Although I'm
still really rough around the edges, all I really need to do is to
broaden my vocabulary. -sorry Doll, Reaper loves you > _ >-

I started to learn Frence once upon a time... was excited about it in 8th grade and took a class... then halfway through the year, they combined classes and with so many in the room I lost my zeal and felt tired instead. Would love to pick it up again though.

Oh I don't think I will ever learn those langues, but since Japanese is a completely different alphabet as well, I think It would be relatively easy for me to learn that.. Since I found Spanish hard, but Japanese easy.
Oh and using it would never happen... the only time I have ever [i]used[/u] one of my langues was Sign Langue....

That sucks. i lost my interest in Spanish when they put me in Spanish 2A. It was a class that had two parts (A B), that took two years instead of one, and I lost interest because I would have done 4 years of it and only been equalitant to 1 1/2 years... That is when I took Japanese! I loved all three years of it!

PWEEP 05-01-2013 02:23 AM

I like watching foreign movies, to see how similar or different we act/talk.

not the people i met
they like listening to me talk,
especially saying Godzilla~not Godzirra.
i felt odd at first but got used to having people ask me to say a word
they they would tell me all of the things they like about speaking english.

I enjoy watching them as well. At my old college they had a foreign film club and they would play a foreign film every last friday of the month. It was nice~

I'm fluent in English and American Sign Language. Before I started moving around all the time, I loved my job working with children with special needs, and a lot of them communicated via sign, so I had to pick it up pretty quickly, and I found it quite easy. I haven't attempted any other languages, though. I'm hoping to host a foreign exchange student when I get settled in a bit more and have a better job, and I'll probably see if they'll teach me something new! There's never been a language besides ASL that I've really been fascinated with, I think any would do. Maybe Gaelic, but I feel like that's a pretty useless language to learn these days.

I would love to know more ASL! It's such a fun thing to know! And since I'm going into Early Childhood Edu. It should come in handy~
