Okay. I've seen a lot of threads about peoples favorite foods, and similar things, but never one where you would actually post your recipes.

Rules:

1:Follow all mene rules.

2: Only post your own recipes. Quote all recipes: your own or not.

3: Disclaimer: Cooking is dangerous. If you hurt yourself attempting to cook anything in this thread, it's not any poster's fault. Always cook with an adult there. If you are an adult, cook with a friend if you haven't done it a lot. Best if it's someone you know can cook.

4:Have fun, and don't you dare bash someone's recipe. As a chef myself I can say it sucks when people do that.

I like to cook soup. Here's a simple one, that's delicious.

Quote:
Leftover chicken soup:

Ingredients:

1lb of cooked leftover roast chicken, or turkey.

4cups chicken broth(or better yet stock)

three stalks of fresh celery

Three green onions.

1/2 stick butter

Equipment:

1 medium stock pot.

1 long handled spoon or ladle for stirring.

1 cutting board

1 good sharp knife

Procedure:

Rip up the chicken into whatever sized chunks you like.

Carefully cut up the vegetables into whatever sized pieces you prefer.

Place the pot over medium high heat. When it gets hot place the half stick of butter inside, and wait for it to melt.

When the butter is melted, add the vegetables, and stir until they are mostly tender.

At this point add the chicken, and keep stirring.

When everything is cooked through, add your stock or broth, and stir everything in.

Remove from the heat, and add spices to taste.
Congratulations. You just made soup. :)

I like to make sugar coated fruit without a fancy recipe. :ninja:

Quote:
STEP 1:
Stab assorted fruit (strawberries and grapes are my favourites) with toothpicks or those cute little umbrellas.
STEP 2:
Lightly coat fruit in syrup or sticky substance of your choosing. (You can skip this step if you're feeling particularly lazy)
STEP 3:
Medium-ly to heavily coat fruit in sugar! I like to do some with brown sugar, some with regular sugar, and some with sweet 'n low.
STEP 4:
nomnomnomnomnomnomnom

Wonderful recipes you have there. This is just a reminder to everyone that even if the recipe is yours or not, to please quote them. This is simply because we have no way to prove if they're your original recipes or not. ^^; So I've gone and quoted everyone else who has already posted. *nods* :3

That works Seito :3 Thanks. I'll probably be organizing/editing my first post to incorporate several different types of recipes. I know I have my recipe box around here somewhere. And I took several cooking classes in high school, which offered many recipes. I still have them!

----------

Oh, I've got a question for Menewshans. :3 I've been wanting to deep fry some whole mushrooms but I don't know how. I don't want to burn anything, and I'm afraid that if I do something wrong I'll end up with a mess! Suggestions?

pat the outside dry,
dredge in a simple soda batter, and fry in very hot oil.
I would say let them sit and dry just a bit before cooking.
I would personally put them on skewers.

It's not really a recipe, but it's procedure. lol. fried mushrooms are very good snack food.

I don't have a deep fryer though. Would a pot of oil work? Or a frying pan?

I don't fry foods very often, can't you tell? ><

A pot of oil is a deep fryer. lol. the difference is the deep fryer is electric, and comes with a basket to pull out your food. Buy one of those basket on a stick things... some places call them a spider. you'll need it to get out your mushrooms when they're done. :)

Oh  I knew that. Well I'm going to wait until my mother is home before I do it. Just so I have someone else there, in case I do mess up since hot oil is rather dangerous to cook with if you've never done it before.

I have some onions too, maybe I can make onion rings also :3

I prefer to use leeks for that. they get less slimy. also just use a flower dredge for them. ...then post the recipe you used. :D
