Everyone has a secret...
Maybe it's a deep, dark secret that you've told no one. Maybe it's something you've kept from everyone. But I bet you're dying to get it off your chest....
But it wouldn't be a secret then, would it?

Frank Warren set up a project called Postsecret in which people write their secrets on a postcard and send them in anonymously. He puts them in books, and on his website.

But not everyone can send in a postcard. Some are too shy to do even that, and some can't buy a postcard on their own as they're not old enough to drive to a store.
That's where this thread comes in.

Go to google or look on your own computer for a picture that represents your feelings. Maybe a picture of two little girls playing if your secret is about a friend, or a picture of a couple if your secret is about a relationship. The picture can be as cryptic as you like, and it can be of whatever you like (within reason - see the rules below).
Open it with photoshop, MSPaint, or any other photo editing software, and write your secret on it. Then save it and upload it to a site like tinypic or imageshack (I will NOT be uploading your secrets for you anymore. Do NOT send them as attachments!). Then email the url of the picture to [email protected] and it will be posted up here.
Your identity will never be revealed.

All pictures and secrets must follow Menewsha Rules.

If your secret is about another member, do not list their user name. (Instead, you could call them something like "User A," "Joe," "Jane," or just "you")

Do not sign your username in the email or on the secret. The point of this is to be anonymous.

All secrets must be submitted on a picture. Not with a picture. I will not assemble your secret for you.

Do not email the Menewsha Postsecret address to ask for help, advice or to chat.

Please be sure that your secret is easy to read. Make sure the text is not small, a hard to read color, or in chatspeak.

Don't send in secrets that aren't true. While there is no way for me to know if they are true or not, it is a low, stupid thing to do and you are abusing this thread. Get a life.

While it's okay to post responses to secrets in this thread (E.G. "I'm so sorry your mom died," "I hope things are better for you soon," etc) it is not okay to criticize the secrets in any way. This includes whether you think the person was wrong, criticizing their spelling or grammar, or otherwise being negative towards them. It takes courage to send these in. Flaming posts towards the secrets and their creators will be reported, and you will be blacklisted if you do it more than once.

Please no giant images. If you think it might be too big, it is.

Any secrets that do not follow these rules, or that I deem otherwise unfit, obscene, or inappropriate may not be posted at my own discretion.

Is this really anonymous? Will you reveal my name or username?
This really is anonymous. I will not reveal your name, and I will have no way of knowing your screenname. I will never hint at or say who you are. Your identity is safe with me.

The thing I want to send in isn't really a secret. It's just something I want to get off my chest. Can I still send it in?
Absolutely! If you look at the real postsecret, you'll notice not all the things are secrets. Some are things like "My life is good again." Additionally, if you've told a few people your "secret" before, you can still send it in if you need to get it off your chest.

Can I send in totally random things or poetry?
No. "I like tacos" is not appropriate for postsecret. Nor is your long poem about crying.
If you'd like to rhyme in your secret, that's okay.

My secret is sort of long. Can I still send it in?
I'd appreciate it if you kept your secrets brief. You don't need to tell the entire story of your relationship with Joe Schmoe in order to say that you're still hurt over the breakup. Trying summing it up in a few sentences like this: "I loved you. Even though I was the one to break us up, I still love you."

Can I post my secret here or PM it to you?
No. It destroys the anonymity of it, and it will make it look like you're looking for attention. Please use the email address that I provided.

Look to Postsecret for inspiration. Sometimes you'll see a secret and it'll make you think of something you wanted to get out.

Question. Do the word "secret" in the big titles at the top of the posts appear as light gray to you? Or dark blue?
On my home computer, it's light gray. But it's blue here.... It's the difference between "gray" and "grey." I'll just have to change it all to a number code so certain computers won't bitch at me over the ambiguity of the spelling.

Fiarra - Me too. I love reading the secrets. It's an interesting look into the minds of strangers. Y'know, cause like, most strangers act fine and normal when they're out in public, but they've all really got so much going on that you'll never know about. It's interesting to see all that.

Tenten - I've been having that issue lately, too. But I think it's just because I'm on too much. XD I read posts in my subscribed threads almost as soon as they're made. XD

Cherry Flavored Antacid - You rule! Seriously, postsecrets is one of the best viral projects that I've seen in a long, long time, and I'm so happy that you've decided to bring in to Mene. Hopefully it'll be well used and appreciated by everybody on here, and it'll give those of us with the world weighing down on our shoulders some sort of release, and those of us without, like you said, an interesting insight into the minds of strangers.

I saw the link in your signature and was like..Postsecret on menewsha? I love postsecret's, so I really hope this tread becomes popular. Though I Think you should put a link to the Postsecrets blog so people can get a better idea of what it's about and yeah.
