I got a laptop messenger bag I might be using for school
although I'm not bringing my laptop xP

I should really use the art supply stuff I bought
hardly touched them ^^;;

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 08:07 PM

Steffie~ *clings*

My school gave me a free bag with their logo on it LOL And a shirt, too~

I haven't tested out if my stuff fits in there, though. I do hope it does. If not, I bought a bag a few weeks ago before knowing I'd be getting a free one...

EDIT: Gah. I need to wait to buy my lap top. A couple of weeks. But patience is a virtue and whatnot.

purplejesseh 08-22-2008 08:12 PM

I don't know if all my books will fit in there
if not, get another bag maybe >.>
cuz my laptop is 13" so it might be too small for books
looks pretty though xD

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 08:23 PM

Well, having only 1 class a day for most of the days helps bunches haha. I don't have to carry to much a day.

purplejesseh 08-22-2008 08:31 PM

nice xD
hopefully I won't have too have textbooks to carry at once

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 08:40 PM

I'm worried about the art supplies I might have to carry.. haha. A few teachers had me buy really huge drawing pads and that can be awkward when riding the bus..

purplejesseh 08-22-2008 08:46 PM

oh that would be a problem
I hate bring those home, way too big and annoying >.>
and normally gets ruined by the time I get home x3

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 08:49 PM

Haha, they made us buy a 25 dollar portfolio to keep the larger stuff safe, just in case. But I also might have to carry my supply kit. It's not too huge, but it's clunky enough to really bother me.

Steffox 08-22-2008 09:07 PM

As an architecture student, with occasional art classes, and commuting on the bus, I had such a hard time handling all the materials I needed for all my classes... Like, 30"x40" drawing boards and stuff, but my mom made me a nice big ol portfolio bag out of this crazy thick denim and it worked pretty well, although I forgot it on the bus a few times and had to go through all the hell of Metro lost and found... I got to know the system pretty well...
My laptop is such a piece of junk, I ended up keeping it locked in my studio desk for the last two years, it was not worth carrying around. If I had to do it again, I would have been way more fussy about which laptop I wanted, and I would have done some more research on what I needed... the darn thing has USB 1.0 drives even though USB 2's were already totally standard. >_< I got pwned.
(whine whine whine...)

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 09:14 PM

Aw, poor Steffie *hug*. I think this portfolio they made us buy is pretty sturdy (it BETTER be, with the money I spent on it... ). I hope I don't loose it on the bus. That would totally stink. but the stuff is so difficult to handle. At least after yesterday, anything else will be easy.

purplejesseh 08-22-2008 09:29 PM

The future doesn't look too pretty for me anymore xP
I was thinking of going into architecture, seems like I'm going to have lots of big projects >.>
art schools make you spend wayy too much money xD

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 09:35 PM

Haha, it does, but I hear it makes you some good money once you're done with it LOL

purplejesseh 08-22-2008 09:56 PM

then the future after university looks good xD

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 10:03 PM

The best part is I don't have to take math or science anymore LOL

Steffox 08-22-2008 10:43 PM

Yeah, Architecture is very intense... But totally worth it! I'm just an intern at this big firm and I'm making about $800 bi-monthly... so that's... $1600, which means I can have my apartment, yay, though not *much* else, if I want to eat. It's in a good location.
Then again, this firm is constantly working on multiple projects, so we're lucky that way.

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 10:52 PM

Aw, I'm sure you'll be making lots of money soon~
But please don't starve *clingy*

Steffox 08-22-2008 10:54 PM

I feel totally rich just knowing I make that much ^_^ My parents didn't believe in allowances for chores so really, I never did have any money of my own til now.

MurasakiCrown 08-22-2008 11:05 PM

I don't get an allowance either, but I don't know if I'll have time for a job without having some sort of panic attack at one point. I don't want to get overly stressed *scared*

I basically spend 4 hours on the bus a day already... ._. I need to find someone who commutes from here who actually has a car.

Steffox 08-23-2008 12:02 AM

Ahhhhh... commuting T_T I feel your pain. I wouldn't get a job whilest commuting and schooling O_o it's... not good.
Well, I'm off from work and to REI to see if they actually have the nice bags they have on the internets and if my thingy will fit into it.
yay thingy.

MurasakiCrown 08-23-2008 12:08 AM

Ah, okay. I guess I can try to do freelance commissions or something. *headdesk* But I just feel like such a moocher.

I hope you find that bag~

purplejesseh 08-23-2008 01:41 AM

bi-monthly is 2 months?

my parents didn't give me allowance either
but when I needed it, they would give me money for shopping and such

Yotsy 08-23-2008 06:24 PM

O.o You know.. I run into Jesseh everywhere now. xD.
First it was DCAA, then her shop and now here o.o;

MurasakiCrown 08-23-2008 06:29 PM

Haha, she's secretly a Yotsy magnet? LOL

Steffox 08-23-2008 07:48 PM

XDD I did! Went to REI and found that their Timbuk2 bags were on sale. It's perfeccctttt So happy.
Yay weekend! And sun! I want to go do something...

MurasakiCrown 08-23-2008 08:18 PM

Yay! *claps* what color is it~?
