Had a bit of a cry before with mum, we probably looked a bit weird. She was taking pictures off her camera and found one with Grandma on it before she got sick and we both started crying without warning. :sweat:

Seeing them in the casket, looking all dressed nicely and peaceful is a very good thing.
Especially if your last memory is of them in a hospital gown with all sorts of tubes and breathing stuff around.

Yeah, her last memory wasn't a good one, neither was my cousins that's why he went as well.

She's got my picture and everything that's being buried with her, mum took them when she went to see her earlier.

I have one of those photo key ring things, I think it's classed as "boys toys" you connect it to the computer and download pictures onto it. She's on there, it's not a particularly flattering picture because she was in the middle of talking, the one mum found today is better. She never liked having her picture taken so we don't really have that many of her.

my mom is like that. the only picture i have of her is where she's in the background of a picture of me.

For my Mom's funeral, we put together a collage of pictures. One of her as a young woman, ones of her surrounded by family, all sorts of pictures. We had these on a couple of those foam boards, which we put on easels at the viewing and at the funeral.

It's a nice thing, and the people who come enjoy looking at them.

It was also very cathartic for my sister and me, and something that kept us busy. After we had chosen everything for the funeral and made all the calls, we needed something to fill the couple of days we had before the actual funeral day.

We spent two days chosing the pictures we were going to use. We bought some craft paper...the pretty stuff like old wallpaper, and used the fancy scissors to cut out ovals and squares that we put the pictures on... so they were all framed so pretty on the foam board.

There are all kinds of cool cut-out things you can get at the hobby stores in the scrapbooking section. Mom loved cardinals, so we had a cardinal there, a picture of lilacs, words saying "World's Greatest Mom", Grandma, stuff like that.

We found a cute picture of Mom sitting in a recliner with her little Grandsons... one on her lap the other looking over her shoulder, reading a National Enquirer. My sister put a little caption on the picture that said "Grandma didn't always set the best example". People laughed so much when they say that picture.

Yeah me too, she's smiling and everything. It's only a few months before she got sick, I'm going to ask my mum to give me a copy of it.

we've got one of her when she was about 16 and this one that we're going to have at the funeral.

Yeah, we're going to the football club after, there's over 30 people coming but my cousin thinks his mum is going to turn up. My Gran didn't like her after she divorced my uncle.

Well, there will always be some people at the funeral that weren't particularly liked by the deceased. That's just the way things go...
