Well when i was in highschool we had the option to either take History or Geography.
I was going to take history - was in the class for like a week, but the teacher was a B to me so i asked to switch =]. Edit: Hi Shan ^^ |
kitkat's real name isn't secret.. its just nobody asks.. xD and its on my front page of my exchange thread .. IN BOLD. @roachi: well.. 9th grade you take geometry a semester, then some health class or something like that the second semester. then 10th grade.. -checks with brother- world history, 11th, us history or some king of AP history/us history class.. 12th grade i don't know.. xD in 11th and 12th you have more choices.. in 9th and 10th everything is pretty much required for learning stuff standards |
Pretty name Kat ^^
|
Then no hi's for Kaitlin?!
xD //Never visits the exchange... >> & HAI ROACHY! Anyways, tis time for me to go to bed. School tomorrow...>.< Byeee! <3 |
thanks roachi and licity xD nuu kaitlin gets hi's all the time! mostly what kaitlin hears everyday from her friends is 'i found kaitlin!!' and then kaitlins quick shuffles away kitkat has no school tomorrow because of another jewish holiday x3 school budget depends on schools attendance record soo they can't have all the jewish kids absent.. so they cancelled school tomorrow |
@Kat - Our compulsory classes are of course the basics in years 9,10,11.
Which are English, Maths, P.E, Science, Health. The other classes we take they are compulsory but we get too choose them so that would be History, Geography, Food Tech, Languages, Wood/Metal Shop, Computer tech etc etc. And then you get all the advanced stuff when your in years 12 & 13. @ Shan - Nighties Shan ^^ |
.. 13? grades only go up to 12 here.. o__o but most people take 4 year college.. so thats.. 16 :3 |
Instead of Grades we say Years.
Years :: 1-6 is Primary Years :: 7-8 is Intermediate Years :: 9-13 is highschool So you mean to say that you guys finish school at 17? |
ooo for us its 1-5 elementary 6-8 middle or junior high 9-12 high we finish school at 18 o: oh i remember before first year there is 'kindergarten' its kinda where you learn basic skills.. i have no idea why its called kindergarten.. i always thought it was a strange word.. xD so i guess our kindergarten is your first year |
Oh i see, that's interesting ^^
Plus we call highschool - College. But i just say highschool so i don't confuse people xD. We have kindergarten here it's for kids aged 2-4 But it's more like daycare in my opinion. |
I graduated high school at 17. 8'D
But I just have a late birthday, haha, the average age is pretty much 18. XD Was kitkat thinking of geometry or geography from earlier? 8O |
On a talk about school levels? xD
Where I am we use Year 1 - 6 for primary school students (aged 7-12, usually). For elementary and high school, it's Form 1 - 5 (age 13-17). Students usually graduate at age 17. Unless they failed the compulsory language paper, then they have to retake the final year again and again until they pass if they want to graduate from high school. OR they happen to be PTS students, students who skipped a grade back when they were in primary, from Year 3 directly to Year 5. After that, students usually have the choice to not continue at all, attend college (varies from 1-2 years), or 2 years in Form 6, which is somewhat equivalent A-levels. Once graduated from there, they have the choice to go to university for their degrees. xD |
school yucky school. bah
|
Schools, not the same around the world. XD
|
Iro your from Aus right??
*sounds familiar* That would have been cool to finish school at 17. We use to call our years - Form. But that's kind of gone out the door now. But if we were finished at form 5 that would have been year 11 for us. I can't believe we spend that much time of our lives at school and then Uni. |
Actually, no. I studied in Malaysia. And I graduated from high school at 16 (being one of those students who skipped a year).
Am current in Australia for further studies, that is all. :) And it's not really as grand as it sounds. Still kind of young and not technically legal, so really, unless you get a diploma or is a Form 6 graduate with high credits, it's not easy to get a job. ^_^; School, the most important time of our growth and transition from child to adult. Or at least, what I've been told. =P |
