They don't do exorcisms anymore seeing as they have to find two priests, one of which has to have done one before then ask the people higher than them if they can preform the exorcism or not.
An exorcism would probibly make the strokey grabby thing, which isn't the cat, worse. |
I believe that people do get possessed by evil spirits sometimes... I think if the person has faith they might be able to help a possessed person... maybe.

If an exorcism is to be performed on a person any and every medical condition that could be causing them to act like that has to be ruled out. Then they have to have a report on months of observation before an exorcism is even considered.
Exorcisms aren't really performed anymore, it's only in developing countries that they are. An exorcism on a house can make things worse if it wasn't malevalent(sp?) before then after an exorcism it can be. Or if it was before then it'll just make it even more melevalent. So cleansings are recomended insted of going down the root of exorcism. If a cleansing doesn't work then you've got to try other methods and exorcism is your last resort. |

Now a days I suppose if someone is hallucinating or acting weird they label them as "schizophrenic" and lock em up in an insane asylum for the rest of their lives.... I wonder how many people are locked up that are just possessed by a bad spirit. |

I haven't seen a ufo since Jan 1st. I saw one at 3am... It scared the crap out of me cuz I had stayed up late and was hungover when I saw it so at first I was like "no way." I wonder if the cigar shaped ufo's have seen or noticed you... I've always wondered that... especially since recently I met this person who swears he was abducted. Thats so scary... I've only seen the saucer shaped ones, but yeah those are also silent too. That sounds like my mom. She doesn't believe in ufo's either, but I don't care what she thinks... they're real. |
Lol...that's what I always called it. Even though it still had training wheels. XD Cause I didn't learn how to ride a bike without training wheels until I was 8. I always got hurt, so I was too scared. But when I finally learned, I had so much fun that I didn't want to quit. And then me and my "boyfriend" even taught my little brother, cause...well...when he was ready to get rid of his training wheels, our dad was in prison. For not paying child support. And our mom, she hung out with this woman, and she didn't um...well, she wasn't the best mom for a little while. ._.; So me and him played grown-ups and taught him how to ride his bike.
I've wondered that too. >_>; Because its so weird that I've seen the same kind of ufo all the time growing up and so sometimes I wonder if they're like watching me. I think the aliens are watching us... @[email protected] When I lived in Oregon and our house was totally isolated... and I lived on a mountain, I'd see UFOs all the time... Nearly every day... So I started thinking that I was special and that they were like watching me or something... but than I moved to a big city and now I don't see them... Sooo, I realized it was the fact that we lived in such an isolated place which is why I saw them so often... Seeing is believing.... There's so many skeptics about UFOs and aliens, but I KNOW if those skeptics were to come face-to-face with a real UFO like you and I, Christa, they would believe too. |
First time posting here... I've never seen anything I could credibly call a UFO. I do think enough people have seen them, including people I know, to make me believe they saw them. I'm going to poke around a bit on the thread. I have some thoughts about possession, cleansing, etc., but would like to look closer at what y'all are talking about before I give my .02.

Welcome Elmiria swift! ^^ Thanks for keeping an open mind about UFOs... I know for people who have never seen one its hard to imagine such an incredible thing... Heck, when I was younger I thought it was all make-believe too.
I would like to hear your thoughts on anything paranormal. I have to say that since I used to live in a haunted house... I now believe in ghosts and yes, I also believe in the possibility of people becoming possessed by angry spirits... I don't know what you mean by 'cleansing...' Do you mean getting someone un-possessed? |
Accounts of people seeing proper UFOs are hard to come across seeing as most poeple had either been out drinking before they'd seen it or they'd seen the same "UFO" every day for a week. Which later turns out to be a lamp post.

I think it's hillarious when people put their story on the internet and start with "me and my friend had been out for a few drinks before walking home" then go on about how they'd seen something paranormal. Yeah, I mean, I'm not surprised if some drunk people have seen UFOs... but yeah, its hard to believe someone whose under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I told one of my friends about seeing the UFO and he was like "Oh yeah I saw one of those once when I was on shrooms..." I was just like "Dude, you just saw a shroom hallucination. >< Dork." I couldn't take him seriously cuz he was on mushrooms...

It's going alright, the grabby thing hasn't come back and grabbed me again.
From the ammount of ghost pictures I've seen and my own expeirences that has an all too clear outline to be an unedited picture. Plus it's a very solid picture even though it is transparentish. |
The best thing I can think of to use for a cleanse, is that old standby - salt. Otherwise, it depends on your religious and cultural beliefs. For me, I'm a heathen. We go through an annual purging of trolls - bad vibes/spirits - every year around Christmas/Yule. If you're being grabbed at, HIM, and it's not a comfy situation, a cleanse should do the trick. You can get rid of negative energy/spirits or whatever pretty easily that way.
Weirdest paranormal thing that happened lately took place at an old diner. I kept hearing a child laughing behind me - nobody else did and I normally don't hear anything that isn't there - but nobody was there and there weren't any children in the building. I had a friend in CA who lived near the JPL labs and he swore that he'd see UFOs all the time that were definitely not prototypes for any US military aircraft. They were too oddly shaped, mostly spherical, cigar-shaped, etc. He was always alone when he saw them as a child, early in the morning or around sundown, out while he was riding his bike. Thought that was cool! |
I'm happy with the grabby thing being around. It's the first time it's actually grabbed me, I've had the feeling of being watched before and the feeling of someone stroking my hair.
There are many different variations on how to do cleansings and many different ones to try. I'm happy just leaving it alone if it want's to grab me then it can, I don't want to make it melevalant. |
As long as you're comfortable with it, then you're right to let it be. I wasn't sure if you were being hassled by it or just what.
My daughter had the sense of someone touching her hair and also hanging out in her closet - saw a figure, not just a shadow - and it really frightened her. We asked for it to stop and it started being a bit more obnoxious, so we did a cleanse and it stopped. |
I've seen things and been jolted wide awake by something a few times. I'm happy to leave it alone even if it doesn't leave me alone.
I've heard about cleansings and exorcisms which have made things a lot worse. And about people saying incrediably stupid things in haunted places the most stupid I've ever heard was about someone yelling I mock thy spirits, apparently they're never going anywhere paranormally active ever again after that. |

Yeah, I'd have to agree about the picture... The lines are too definite. I took a pic of my brother playing my drums at my old house once and there was this weird transparent shadow/cloud behind his head... It was creepy. Thats interesting, Elmira... The thing with the salt reminds me of the whole thing about people believing salt lamps having "cleansing qualities." xD Heathen... I don't know anything about that religion. I'm zoastrian... Woah, creepy... Maybe it was a child's spirit... Your friends experience is similar to my own... At sunset, sunrise or night I saw the most UFOs and I also live in CA. I was looking at this new ufo site I found and it was amazing how many thousands of records were kept of ufo sightings in CA... far more than any other state... except maybe florida. >< |
It seems to be near dawn and dusk are the best times for UFO sightings although there has been the odd few that came out in the middle of the day.
There was a report not long ago about how a police helicopter chase a UFO until they ran out of fuel after it flew at them. |
Thoth, what's crazy is that this guy is now in his early 60s and he saw this kind of thing in the late 50s. When he was a kid, he thought it was due to seeing way too many sci-fi movies, but it made him wonder. He also told me that he spoke with friends he met later - he was a programmer - who told him that there were some things going on in that area that they weren't supposed to talk about. Again, this is one person I'd believe. I've met some major whackos that needed professional help - he wasn't like that.
Heathenry - It's a reconstructionist spiritual system, based on Northern European - Germanic, Nordic, Anglo-Saxon - belief systems. Ya know, Vikings. It also goes by names like Asatru, Odinism... sometimes creepy white supremacists in prison get into it. I focus more on the history, links to my ancestors, gods, etc. and how to apply those beliefs in my daily interactions. You're only the 2nd person I've "met" who's a zoastrian! A good friend of mine from college is as well - truly one of the most remarkable people I've ever met. Really interesting religion! @ HIM - that makes a lot of sense about the time of day then! |
