Sounded bigger than a mouse.
The dog was in the bathroom with me (because my niece was spending the night and Gracie tried to bite her last time she was over...) and she was listening to it move with her head tilted, like "wtf?"

My brother said it might have been a squirrel. O_o;

I have a friend who told me that her old apartment had a flying squirrel that entered the apartment through their fireplace. Cute at first, then a little pushy and annoying.

Been getting that feeling the past day or so that someone is standing behind me, but there isn't anyone there. Very odd.

Maybe a raccoon Christa? xD
Yeah, squirrels do sometimes live in people's walls especially during winter...
I had this huge rat living in our wall and finally it died (I could tell cuz the house stank of it) and it took me like 2 months to finally drill a hole and get the stupid thing out. ><
My doggie almost caught a squirrel yesterday, but I stopped her since I really like squirrels...

Haha thats hilarious Elmira. It would be awesome to have a flying squirrel as a pet... I'd teach him to like bring me candy from the candy store. Muahahaha.
Hmm, thats unusual... Maybe a ghost is following you around?

We all thought it was really cute that the squirrel was in her apartment, but it kept getting too close to their baby, and it freaked them out. When I worked at a Renaissance Faire in CA, there was a lady who walked around with a pet squirrel. It would hide in her shirt and hair, then come out if given a treat. I thought that would tickle mercilessly. Better the blouse though than pants!

I don't know. When I was pregnant with Otto this past summer, there was a cafe we went to constantly (it's closed now). On two separate occasions, I heard a child laughing but there weren't any kids in the cafe. Well, I found out that I was pregnant shortly afterward. Initially, I thought it may be the baby, then found out I was having a boy - and the laughter/voices I heard were definitely of a young girl.

Lately, it's been around the house. I noticed Otto grinning at something behind me and I had the feeling that there was a lady there. I said hello to it - I think it may have been Mark's mom, who passed a couple years ago - and stopped having that feeling. It was funny because Mark looked up and over my shoulder like he felt someone was there. That kind of thing freaks him out too much, so I didn't ask. He's felt the presence of my dead husband here - and felt unwelcome. I never got that vibe and think Mark was being paranoid walking past my dead husband's urn XD

Lol raccoon. Lol Family Guy. >_>;
I don't know, but it was creepy.
And I've been really freaked out lately anyway. I've told you my house is...well if not haunted, there's definitely paranormal crap that happens here.
Anyway, I had a terribly realistic nightmare the other day, and I was being strangled, by something that I couldn't see. It was terrible. And then when I woke up (I didn't die in the nightmare or anything) when I woke up, I could still feel the pressure on my neck. I was so scared that I cried. I mean, I could still FEEL where something had been wrapped around my neck trying to kill me, I could still feel the pressure of it. D:
And when I woke up, my bedroom felt so eerie, like something was watching me. And I'm way paranoid, I won't go in there by myself anymore- I take the cat. Last night I didn't even sleep in there. When I went in, to go to bed, I felt whatever it is watching me again, so I grabbed the quilt and the cat and my book and bolted. I slept in the recliner in the living room.

Mira:: My mom used to work for a pet store, a long time ago, and the lady who ran it with her husband, did wildlife rescues. And she had a pet owl, and a pet squirrel. The squirrel, my mom said, would run around and climb on the furniture. Well, it fell off a bookcase, and I guess crippled itself.
Well, the lady was nursing it back to health, or at least trying to, because I suppose she loved it. And mom said that the lady's husband fed the poor little thing to the owl. ;-;

Yesterday I was laying on bed trying to sleep - I was in that state where you're a bit more asleep than awake, and somehow I... projected astrally? It has a totally different name in spanish, so I don't really know xD I felt myself separating from my body and hovering above it horizontally [because I couldn't concentrate on moving/flying] and somehow I managed to open my eyes for a split second, someting I couldn't do last time.

Wrong choice. I opened the eyes of my physical body and saw the shadow of my spirit body hovering at 45º of my point of view. It was weird, because my sense of tact was with the hovering body, and my sense of view was with my physical body o__o [I think I even felt me looking at myself x_X Lol?] The second after I opened my eyes, my spiritual body came back and reunited with my physical body.

You know how it feels when your leg is "asleep" and you move it? Some ticking with a bit of blood finally running through your capilars? When I came together, my WHOLE body felt like that, it was scary >__< Anyways, I just chose to lay on my right side rather than left this time and fell asleep almost inmediatly n__n'

OMG! He fed it to the owl??? Was it beyond hope or was he just an ass hat?

Ok. About the creepy dream. Salt in a line at your bedroom door, closet door, windows... I've had that happen, but not a feeling that something was trying to hurt me. Sometimes the images were like I was reliving another life. One was pretty interesting and involved me having been a gun moll living in a mansion owned by some mafia type of guy. In my dream, I was shot with a machine gun. I woke up because I stopped breathing while I was asleep, and was gasping for air. That was the craziest, but there have been a few others.

Dreams where you wake up and you can still feel the presence of what happend still on you are strange, so are the ones where you actally seem to fall just when waking up.

Yes! That odd jerk when your body finally lets go of stress right before you sleep... the one that then wakes you more so it's harder to fall asleep.

The worse thing is when you spot a face on your curtain just when you're getting off to sleep then you can't sleep because the face is staring right at you.

The thing with still being able to feel things that were in a dream after waking up is kinda like with night terrors when the brain can't tell the difference between a dream and reality.

Exactly! When I was little - and you have to keep in mind this was the early 1970s when home decor in the US was scary whether you were young, stoned or sober - I shared a bedroom with my younger sister. We had matching sheets, blankets and curtains. Well, there was a floral pattern on the curtain that looked like witches when the street lights outside or the moon illuminated them in just the right way. I had nightmares all the time in that room. I'd wake up screaming. Sometimes, I'd wake up under my sister's bed - we had bunkbeds - apparently, I'd get out of bed and hide under her's.

That's one of the flaws of being human we're programed to pick out faces in things.

Yes. when my daughter had night terrors, I'd look all over the room with her, lights on, so I could show her where the shadows were coming from, and so she could see that some of the objects in her room could look like a face in the right light.

Very interesting that we're wired to ID faces almost subconsciously.

The dark makes things look strange even if they are familliar. Then when you're with a group of people in the dark the fear bounces off everyone in that group so then you get a hyped up fear. Then when you look back it was really silly.

I once dreamt I was on my bed, in my room [exactly the beggining of half of my dreams], but I couldn't open my mouth. It was so pressured I had a hard time breathing and was practically choking on myself. I discovered it was a dream when I noticed the presence of a man in my room - I had my eyes closed and my house is very secure. I wasn't supossed to know and it wasn't suposed to happen >o>'

Yeah me too D: I spent the rest of the night with a paining chin and teeth... :(

Maybe I have that problem in which you close your mouth too forcefully, causing your teeth to hurt, while you're asleep?

Oh, I know what you mean. Grinding teeth at night can cause damage along a nerve in the lower jaw. I think it's referred to as TMJ, but I don't remember what it stands for or the name of the nerve/area of the jaw. My sister has that, and wears this plastic thing in her mouth at night.

Mira:: Yeah. D: I don't know. It was before I was even born. Maybe he thought the squirrel was a lost cause. -shrug- Still, he didn't have to feed it to the owl. :stare:

That's creepy too. I've done that too. Like, I've had this odd, unexplainable fear of and fascination with fire all my life, and then I started having dreams about this woman who burned up in a fire. And I'd wake up, feeling kind of empty. People I've talked to about it say that she was one of my past lives. And I believe in past lives, so its not a big deal. And that would explain my deal with fire, if that was how "I" died.

My room is ok now though. I don't have that weird feeling in there anyway...
I slept in there last night and didn't dream at all...

HIM:: I used to get that falling sensation all the time when I was younger. It happens really rarely now.

Mira (again lol):: When I was really little and used to spend the night at my grandma's a lot, the night light shining through the dining room set made it look totally like there was a witch on a broom on the curtains on the sliding glass door. And I would only walk through the room if my nana would hold my hand. ><
But now obviously I can walk through the room by myself with out my grandma with me. :XD And even though the table, chairs, and night light are still in exactly the same place, the shadows don't look like a witch anymore. Maybe its my hight difference so I see it different? Maybe if I knelt down on the floor, it'd still look the same.

Thoth looks damned sexy today! Reminds me a bit of Rocky Horror Picture Show...

'Kitami - In some ways I'm glad that I've had some of these experiences because my daughter did when she was younger. Still sleeps with a light AND a nightlight on in her room.

Yes, about the past life thing... every once in a while, I have dreams about stuff that may have happened before - not from a movie or book I've read. Strange stuff, mostly.

A lot of it is because you can't really verify it. I mean, you can take pictures of a UFO or ghosts and have that analyzed. People have had past-life regression hypnosis and uncovered details about places they've never been to before or even heard of - lives of people they couldn't have known.

Hard to really prove something that is buried in one's subconsciousness.

You can get those dream books and go have dream analysis done on your dreams which is how most people find out about their past lives.

Yes. Some of them are pretty accurate. I'd have to think that a lot of it is based on a combination of psychology and philosophy. All I'm saying is that whenever I've mentioned past lives or reincarnation, it generally opens me to a debate on whether it can be scientifically proven. The same can be said for people who believe in anything intangible. I tend to feel in my gut that I've been here before, many times, and that others have as well. I also have met people I know I knew before and that we are often drawn to the same people/spirits/souls from one incarnation to the next. Anyhow, that's my .02.
