That house could have an elemental, I don't know if they've got another name but that's what I know them as, which is a build up of negative engergy so the place has a really negative feel.

It probibly would have to be an axe made out of silver bullets to kill a werewolf with an axe.

Elmira Swift 03-18-2009 05:05 PM

What was strange was that the feeling was over the whole subdivision. All the way into the area where there house is - along that road and then on her street as well. I mean, it was everywhere. Very creepy. We've had some weird stuff on our land, but it's not bothering us. Not even with some of the creepy people that live near us do I feel that sort of vibe.

Guivre 03-18-2009 05:11 PM

I wonder what the subdivision was built on. D=?

HIM_ROCK 03-18-2009 05:14 PM

If something bad has happened there at some point then that can cause a bad feeling across the area. But that is just really weird.

There's a few places where there's a low mumming sound that hangs over the area with no explantion so maybe it's like that.

My kitty does strange things like stare at places when there's nothing there and you can do everything to try and get her attention and she carries on staring. It's mostly in places I've felt someone watching me when there's no one around that she sits staring at.

Elmira Swift 03-18-2009 05:17 PM

I was speculating about that with my daughter after I asked her if she felt anything - and she had. She said that when we were leaving the other day, she felt relieved. And, I didn't say anything to her about it that day.

The area we live in used to have Cherokee and Creek tribes, and that specific area is very close to where people claimed there was gold - the land was in dispute for a long time between the US and the Native Americans in NW Georgia, which later led to the expulsion of native tribes - the Trail of Tears mass, forced exodus from GA to OK in the mid 1800s. So, it's possible that there was something that happened there. There weren't many large plantations in this area - mostly small farms. Only 1-2 large plantations here. It is possible that whomever took over that land annoyed the land spirits there - nobody is making the appropriate offerings for them. I don't know. Whatever it was, I had the distinct feeling that we weren't welcome there. Now, I've left things out around here - milk, cream, whole grains, beer, etc. and that seemed to calm things down a bit. I mean, I've had friends come over here who are mediums - they see dead people all the time - and have commented that our house is a vortex-free area. I guess I shut some things down because it wasn't always like that here.

HIM_ROCK 03-18-2009 05:32 PM

It could be that spirits have come back to somewhere they know well.

Guivre 03-18-2009 05:34 PM

Hauntings usually aren't so creepy though.

HIM_ROCK 03-18-2009 05:36 PM

That all depends on the feeling of the spirit to that place. If they didn't like that place in life and for whatever reason can't leave then there's going to be a negative feeling there.

Some places can be really nice yet are really creepy.

Elmira Swift 03-18-2009 05:44 PM

This was a very hostile vibe, and it was everywhere in that area. When we see that family again, I'm going to ask them if there's a creek on their property or if they've found arrowheads. Not sure if they're aware of the history of that property. Based on the architecture of the other homes, it looked like there had been some homes built in phases. Some of the houses looked like they were 30-40 years old while others were less than 20. It's very typical for land to be used as farm or ranch land here, then sold in parcels to developers. If a developer built on it and then split the remaining land for another project, that could explain it.

There is a local paranormal society, and I'm thinking of finding out a bit more about them to see if they've checked out anything in that neighborhood.

HIM_ROCK 03-18-2009 06:34 PM

We have a supprising lack of paranormal activity where I am even though we have a castle.

Elmira Swift 03-18-2009 06:39 PM

There's a castle near where you live?

I thought we did as well, until someone mentioned that there is a society in town. In fact, my university used to have a paranormal psychology program. Some of the work they did is archived there still. Most of the downtown area consists of buildings that have been there only 100 years or so. One of the buildings currently has a hair salon and a pizza place, but used to be the local brothel.

HIM_ROCK 03-18-2009 10:02 PM

I'm back from dissapearing to go to the circus.

It's pretty much a wall, two towers and two dungeons that's all that's left of it.

Elmira Swift 03-18-2009 10:05 PM

And was the circus a circus?

Over here, we're lucky to find buildings that are more than 100yo and not falling apart at the seams. One of the things that blew my mind when I went to the UK 20+ years ago was how old things were compared to here - I mean, we consider what happened last year "historic".

HIM_ROCK 03-18-2009 10:16 PM

It was The Circus Of Horrors.

We take pride in our historic buildings and country houses which are open to the public. Seeing as they're a reminder of how things used to be for some people.

Thoth Star 03-18-2009 10:36 PM

Hello Elmira and HIM, how are you both? 8)

Circus of horrors sounds scary.

HIM_ROCK 03-18-2009 10:53 PM

HIM is good.

The Circus of Horrors isn't for the faint hearted, I've been three years in a row now. Only circus I go to because where else am I going to see a pickled woman.

Elmira Swift 03-18-2009 11:54 PM

Ok. A pickled woman??

The whole historic preservation thing has its ups and downs - if it was up now, I'd have a job since that's what I went to school to do.

Guivre 03-19-2009 12:11 AM

Oh yeah, I had a French uncle who did antique furniture restoration, he just laughed at our antiques here. I'm sure they were like junk shops to him.

Are you into restoration or something else?

Elmira Swift 03-19-2009 12:42 AM

More like museums and social history. I wish I'd gone ahead and taken some classes in architectural history, but didn't. Basically, I know how to do the research and set up for exhibits and how to handle archaeological collections. Or... teach... since the job market is just non-existent now, I've decided to go to cosmetology school. I'm going to do some research and writing while working, maybe either get a job or volunteer on the side. Who knows.

It's funny how much communities will put into restoring and preserving some things if money can be made, while wanting to tear down other things to build parking lots.

Guivre 03-19-2009 01:08 AM

Oh, I see -- that sounds very interesting though, and practical within its own field. I'm sure you'll find something eventually. Volunteering would probably help, I hate to say.

Cosmetology school is a good idea also. Anything to make you stronger, lol.

It is weird what communities find important, but then service groups/charities/organizations all have their own agendas. D= And more random stuff like location is a factor too.

Elmira Swift 03-19-2009 01:30 AM

Exactly!

I'm popping on and off a bit, dealing with kids... hope y'all have a great night!

Guivre 03-19-2009 01:42 AM

Good night! I'll probably be logging for night soon, myself. No youngsters here, just have to get up early.

Thoth Star 03-19-2009 01:42 AM

Bai bai Elmira~ Have fun with your kids.

Hello guivre, how are you?

`Kitami 03-19-2009 03:24 AM
