HIM has a request if anyone would like to answer it and if no one does it doesn't really matter. HIM would like to know the version of the bloody mary legend do you know.
|
Guivre - I've heard the alien astronaught theory, too. I know a lot of people who strongly believe in it.
|
HIM:: All I remember is that you're supposed to look into a mirror and call out to her three times and she's supposed to come kill you.
And when I was 12, my best friend and I were at her friend's house and we had this bright idea to call her and we called her in this girl's bathroom and as soon as we said her name the third time, all the lights went out and the door and the window slammed shut and we flipped the fuck out. XD We couldn't open the damned door at first and when it finally opened, we ran until we were back at my friend's grandma's house down the road. |
You know the main version that I know the other one was where you had to spin round three times and then say her name.
|
Are you going to try to summon her, HIM?
|
I've done my share of trying to summon her already and the candy man.
I've heard people saying about different variations of the rhyme to summon her and I'm trying to find out the other versions of the rhyme. |
Mm...that's the only version I know.
...I don't even know how I learned it. I've known it like...forever. Now I wanna know who told it to me. |
It's one of those things that you hear from someone else who heard it from someone else who heard it from their older brother or sister.
It's one of those things that everyone knows but no one knows where it came from. |
@Thoth, I know I've mentioned it before in this thread, but I really recommend Graham Hancock's book Supernatural in regards to cave paintings/primitive art. I don't want to spoil the book, because it's more interesting if it reveals things to you with his writing style, but it's a very interesting theory. (Not his theory, his book supports the theory.)
@HIM -- When I was in second grade I heard the version of the legend where you have to spin three times. I don't think the versions I heard as an adult count, lol. Snopes has an interesting page on the legend's history. |
I've seen Snopes' section on it but Snopes sometimes freezes on me so I've not got round to that one yet.
|
I have heard of the mirror aswell as spining supposively your suppose to soinn around with a mirror while saying her name three times
|
Haha bummer sunshine... Do you get free food at your work?
Sure HIM, you can tell us your bloody mary stories... Cool I definitely need to read that book, Guivre... I'm gonna see if my library has it. I like ancient artwork. ^^ Hey christa~ *glomps* <333 |
Yes I do but it is very unhealthy for you so I don't really like it
|
When we did bloody mary it'd always be everyone else in one room away from the bathroom so the person would be compleatly alone and do it with no lights on just the curtains or blinds open to let some light in. Same with the candy man thing.
I know some friends did it differently by taking a tourch in with them or doing it at lunch in school because the building wouldn't have anyone in. The scariest time I did it was when the door was tacky because it'd been painted but was dry enough to be put back on it's hinges. I did bloody mary got freaked out because it was dark then I couldn't get the door open but it was stuck. |
Him: wow that is pretty scary I haven't actually done the bloody Mary thing because someone died after doing it and he was like 8 or 9 years
|
We were only 6 or 7 when bloody mary and candy man summoing got really big, so there was alot of stories about people who'd done it and seen her/him.
If it's done properly then you go from having some light to being in pitch darkness and because you're in a hurry to get out you end up with injuries. The most I ever heard of was grazed knees due to falling over because they did it with a tourch and ended up tripping over on the way out. |
Some times I think about doing it I have to admit but I don't think that anything would happen so I tend to just not bother with It
|
It's intersting to read about the variations and people's experince of doing it, having done it myself and only managed to freak myself out.
There are others I haven't done and don't plan on trying because of what people have said happened. |
Ohhhh please do share which ones that you wilk not try and what they had said had happened with it
|
It's mainly ones which involve spending nights in graveyards that I don't want to try out especially the ones where they say the person is found dead in the momring.
Or have a house mate with a dressing gown which has a fluffy collar just because I wouldn't be able to look at it without thinking about that legend. |
Ahhhh ok personally I like spending time in the grave yards but I haven't spent a whole night in one I would like to dome day to just spend some good old time with the dead you know ?
|
For me it would depend on the size of the grave yard I'd be alright if it was a small one but I'd have to take a tourch with me so I didn't stand on anyone's grave. And as long as no one tried to get me to summon anything while in the graveyard I'd be fine.
|
Heh a tourch I think I'll just bring my mag light
|
I'd take the huge tourch we have people living near by would be going crazy because they'd be able to see an enormus orb floating round the graveyard. I'd take some glow sticks as well. Have reports of orbs and strange multicoloured lights in the grave yard.
|
Yea, I don't like fast food either, sunshine.
Except like frozen yogurt and iced tea is yummy... *nod* I see how it can be scary to get locked inside a dark room, HIM... Being in the dark doesn't really bother me. Now if it was a really haunted house... that could freak me out pretty hard, especially if I was drunk before spending the night there. Than you'd just be on edge all night. Drink a few bloody marys and you're ready. Graveyards never really scared me, but I've never spent a night inside one. Once when I was backpacking in yosemite I saw something that looked like maybe a native american grave sight... so we decided to hike another few miles and not spend the night there. lol. |
