Kita has never seen a bigfoot or anything remotely like a bigfoot. And I love exploring in woods and forests. But they may just not been secluded enough? The only kind of unexplainable thing I've ever seen in any woods is what I think was a ghost, and I saw her when I was wondering around by a creek with my friend. It was one of the typical 'Lady In White' ghosts though, so for all I know it was someone in a dress trying to scare people. We didn't get close enough to find out. XD;
And the woods behind my house that I lived in till I was 13, I walked all over that place, and there was some strange things in there, but no bigfoots. Like there was this little shack that looked like it was a hundred years old, and three or four mounds that looked like graves (those were really creepy btw), and parts of it were totally silent, it was like you crossed a barrier, like you'd hear birds chirping and see things moving one second and then there was total silence and nothing moved and you'd get a feeling like something was watching you. I didn't like those areas, they kind of unnerved me...
Oh and one time I was swimming by myself at night in our pool that was basically at the edge of it, and I felt strange, and I looked around, and I swear there were a bunch of eyes looking at me out of the trees. It scared me so much then, but the more I thought about it later I decided they must have been coyotes or something...

But this area did have a "monster" at one point. It was a giant chicken. This was in the '80s I guess, and I tried to google it because it was news then lol, but nothing came up, probably because it was so freaking stupid, and I don't think he ever got caught actually. Anyway the "monster" was my mom's best friend's sister's boyfriend. :rofl:
So retarded.

Well, most people haven't seen a bigfoot. xD more people have seen UFOs than bigfoots...
I think they're super isolated. You would have to backpack for MONTHS to find one.
So the apparition looked like a woman? or like a white light?
I've seen something similar near this mountain pass... that's known around here as the "Indian grave." Its a massive Native American burial site and archeology site. My friend tito and I saw this white floating apparition there. It scared the crap out of us... I didn't say anything, I just ran in the opposite direction and tito followed... we jumped in the car and booked it. I haven't been back to that mtn pass in 3 years, since that happened. Yes, it freaked me out that much!

Forests fascinate me... so much life. I love nature, it inspires me to paint. Those 'silent spots' you were talking about, definitely sound haunted, Christa. Yeah whenever you find graves in the woods, its best to leave them alone...
*nod* You can never tell what animal is watching you... what color were the eyes? I saw a pair of bright green eyes once...and they belonged to a mtn lion that scared the crap out of me. I thought I was gonna die// D; scary!

What did this chicken do to be named a "monster?" lol

Lol yeah, but you're kind of freaked out by spirits though, aren't you? I'm just curious about them, unless I get a bad feeling, and then I leave things alone. I trust weird feelings that I get, because whatever they make me feel like I should do, its usually the right choice. But, I think I would get far away from any spirit I saw at an Indian burial ground. Because I know that I have at least Cherokee Indian in my blood and probably other tribes, although you couldn't tell by looking at me, because I look like my dad instead of my mom, and her side is where we have Indian ancestors. Anyway, my older relatives tell me not to mess with spirits anyway, but never to mess with one that might be the spirit of an Indian, because they wouldn't be hanging around for no reason, they tend to have a serious grievance that ties them to the living, and they aren't usually friendly. o_o;;
But anyway, what I saw was a woman, but there wasn't any color to her. Hair, skin, and clothes were all white. And the dress itself was strange, like it was this long and flowing number that you don't usually see anyone wearing unless they're getting married.
Some of the eyes were yellow, but some were red. But you know like if cat's eyes catch the light a certain way, they can look red? That's what I guess caused it because my dad had this bright ass light above the pool.

Apparently the "monster" dressed like a chicken and scared people that were hanging out around the creek, like people at the makeout hangout, and fishermen and shit. And he stole chickens from farms around the creek. I kinda wonder what he did with them though. Like, did he free them? O_o Or eat them? Again though, so retarded. :roll:

When I go into cemitaries I always try and avoid standing on the grave sites I'd take a detour round the back of the headstone rather than across, people think I'm really weird for doing that but I just don't like standing ontop of someone.

HIM, I didn't know people actually found that strange.. I always do that, more out of respect than anything else.

I'm one of those people that believe in things until proven wrong when it comes to paranormal and spiritual things.. and since these things are impossible to disprove (and very difficult to prove as well), I'm pretty open for anything. :)

We have a very rich tradition of folk stories in Iceland about hidden folk, trolls and all sorts of mythical beings, and we're kind of (in)famous for believing in them. The best example is that we have one main road that goes in a circle around the country, the ring road, and this road, which is not really very old, has had big swerves added to it, just because there was a stone in the way people believed was the home of hidden folk. There are actually many cases where they tried to move the stone to build the road through the space, but everything went wrong - things broke down, people got sick, you name it.. so in the end they gave up and just made the road go a big circle around them!

There are quite a few graves which are over 100 years old I'd rather not risk finding a huge crack in the earth or having the head stone topple over on me.

Folk lore is always interesting especially seeing as there are different variations from different areas of the country. Most of British legends involve phantom dogs the ammount of stories about them makes it seem like we're over run by phantom dogs.

There's that danger as well.. :P

Haha, that's great. I.. was going to say I really want to read more folk stories from different countries, but then I remember I keep saying this about so many different things. And then I end up spending my time on Mene instead.. I've got this really good book though that is a collection of folk and fairy tales from different countries in the world, I've not read a lot of it, but what I have read is really cool. I love how folk tales have such similar storylines even though they're from completely opposite parts of the world, and how they're used to explain things, like nature or human behaviour.

Some folk tales carry very good warnings even though they're not really supposed to.

I think most, if not all of them are supposed to teach you something, though the meaning may be read differently at different times and in different culture zones. In that way, you can't really say that an interpretation of a folk/fairy tale is wrong, because you have different versions of it and different standpoints to interpret it from. Just like with all literature and art.

They're not ment to teach you something but they do especially one I read which invovled an open window. Don't shove you hand though it to turn out the light because there might be a very angry lady with an axe sat waiting.

But they are though. Even if originally they were told just as tales with no further significance than to entertain, they carry with them some kind of moral that is easy to interpret if you think about it, and that's the way they are usually told now. Even though many modern interpretations of them take away all actual morals and replace them with some kind of Disneyland bullshit that doesn't actually apply to anyone's life in reality..

Disney made things all nice and friendly and happy without chopping off toes and wearing fur slippers. And without Sunflower who mysteriously dissapeared.

Pretty much... all the clubs n bars I went to were freaking INSANE. I got free champagne though, that was cool... and a few guys hit on me (probably not realizing that I'm a guy also). That seems to happen a lot when it like 1 or 2am and everyone's drunk. I guess to drunk ppl I look like a pretty girl. XD lol

My best friend from college had her birthday on the same day as me, and another friend was two days after us. The third one (we were sort of a core of best friends) was about two weeks ahead of us too, so we'd usually celebrate our birthdays together, which was always a lot of fun. :)
Sounds like a good day for you anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of it! I'm going to go to bed and hope my legs stop itching.. it's so cold it's making my skin dry as hell.

Haha isn't it strange how that happens? its like we're drawn to ppl that were born in the same time or place as ourselves...
Yeah, than you can all host one party, its easier that way. 3 of my friends: Jon, Luis and Michael all have the same bday: Dec. 21st so we all get drunk on that day...
Yeah, its really cold... I'm freezing!

It is strange.. and how everyone seems to have at least one month where they know a bunch of people whose birthday it is, and at least one where they know no one, or at least no one close.
Ugh, the weather here is just horrid.. not only is it freezing cold, it's really windy too, there are severe storm warnings for a lot of places even. I think I'll just stay inside again today. Though hopefully meeting my friend tonight, he might let me paint on his walls. :D
