*crawls in* Sorry I was gone. ._.

Found out this morning that a boy in my school died over the weekend. I didn't know him, but still. He was probably a face I saw in the halls, and I'm probably friends with people who knew him. I mean, he was close to my dad's best friend's son.

It didn't really sink in until a few hours ago, and I went in my room and cried myself to sleep, so that's why I vanished for so long. It was a total freak accident, too. He stood up to throw something onto the dock, the boat lurched, fell forward, hitting his face on the dock and getting knocked out, and went under. His friends ran over from the next dock over and they jumped in to get him, but the water was forty feet deep and they couldn't find him... By the time emergency workers retrieved his body, it was too late to revive him.

It just... man. And while I was asleep, I had a dream that there was still a chance they could get him breathing again. So now I'm even more upset and I think I'm gonna cry again. ._.

Aww, Rommy, I'm sorry to hear that. . . I can definitely relate. I've had two twins that were in my school die that I really didn't know well, then last Fourth of July, a friend of mine that graduated a year before me died in a motorcycle accident. It takes a while to set in, but you come to grips with it in the end. When my friend died last summer I'll admit I was very upset for about two full weeks and didn't feel like doing anything, go to college, nothing. It didn't clear up until I went out to Orientation for university, so the best advice I can give you is to just get out and do things and involve yourself with people. It's okay to cry about it, hon. T_T

*hugs Wendy and Lathy* Thanks so much, you two.

I just wish I was with my mom, as selfish as that sounds right now, of all times. She's one of four people I'm comfortable crying in front of and asking for comfort from. Of the other three, one is a forty minute drive away, one is a two hour drive away, and the last is out in Utah, so that's not very feasible, either. I'm with my dad right now, and it just feels so awkward to cry in front of him, so I'm trying to hold it together until he goes it bed.

Wendy, I'm so sorry about your friend. ;_; That's really terrible, I can't imagine how I'd cope. *hugs*

No, it's not selfish at all, hon. You can talk to us as long as you need to. :] And. . . if you need to cry just do it in a pillow or something. That's what I do when I don't want anyone to hear me. T_T *Pats*

*clings to Lathy* D: Thanks for being so understanding, it really helps.

Oh god. I saw his picture in an online article and I did recognize his face. D: I know I've seen him around and whatnot.

Wendy- Yes, I was crying into a pillow earlier, and if I dissapear again, that's where I've gone. ._.

Seriously, you two, thanks so much for just letting me let it out and talk about it. *snuggles* It means the absolute world to me. You guys are so so very wonderful.

It's no problem, hon. Talk about it all you want, or we can talk about something else if you want to get your mind off of it. ^^ I'm watching Animal Cops, and it's really sad . . . this woman had 6 feet high piles of trash and they were literally walking on four feet high packed stuff, she didn't even know that two litters of kittens had been born underneath all of it. 40+ cats and a good handful of kittens. So depressing because the adult cats were feral and had to be put down.

Yes yes, something else is good. Mind on something else would be nice. Though thanks agaon, SO MUCH guys, for just giving me some time to bring my issues into the thread. It's honestly the best thing ever to have people that care and are willing to set aside time for you. :3

Oh god, that show depresses me on so many levels. D: The fact that people let animals get into the condition they do is awful. I used to want to work for animal police teams. That is so sad! Those poor cats and kittens. ;_; I feel bad for the lady, too, it must be so awful to live like that. ...But still, most of my sympathy is with the cats and kittens who were stuck there, and the cats who had to be put down. Did it say if the kittens got homes?

Yeah, the kittens were just a few days or a few weeks old at most, so they got homes. The majority of the adults they said were too feral / unfriendly / aggressive to be put up for adoption. T_T I want to find my five babies and cuddle them all, but they're really sketch about coming in at night; they'd much rather be outside hunting.

You're quite welcome, Rommy. x3 You know we're here if you ever need to talk about stuff or let something you. c:

I don't think I've ever seen that show. D: I'm sadden and yet terribly curious about it now.

There are a good handful of nice happy endings. This one kitten was found with an upper respiratory infection and one of the camera crew guys shooting the show loved it so much that he adopted it on the spot as soon as it got better. :3 SO SWEET~

Wendy- That's good, at least.
Yes, my cat is much the same way, but he is at my mom's house anyway. D: So I hugged my dogs instead.

AWWWWW, that is so cute that he adopted it! <3

Lathy- And same to you. c:

Ohmygod it is soooo depressing. D: I still have to run and snuggle the breath from my dogs and cat every time I think about some of the cases I've seen on it/other shows like it. 'Cause there's Animal Precinct, which is my favorite of the bunch, and then Animal Cops for like three or four four different cities or something. I think like, Houston, Phoenix, Detroit, and maybe somewhere else, though I'm not sure about Phoenix. Ugh, I remember this one where this guy left I think three rottweilers on his roof in 108 degree weather... One died and it's body was actually partially melted onto the roof, it was that hot. They saved the others, though. :3 That one has just always haunted me.

Rommy; ... Oh my god. D: That's just... that's just awful. DX How can people think, even CONSIDER doing things like that? DX

Yeah, Rommy, the cities are Houston, Phoenix, Detroit, and NYC. That is EXTREMELY depressing about the rottweiler. Ugh, makes me sick to my stomach to even think about how its body just rotted there.

I know! D: We never leave our dogs in the backyard for more than twn minutes without water if it's so much as eighty degress, how a person could be careless enough to leave three dogs ON A ROOF with no water, shade, or anything in weather that hot it just... Gyah. Don't own dogs. Or cats. Or gerbils. Or even fish.

I wish I knew the guy. So I could punch him. In the face.

Yeah, my mother was just saying people that leave their animals out in conditions like that or even inside in terrible trashy conditions need to have the ability to have animals revoked. It's not sanitary for the people or the pets in the long run.

People who can do things like that to animals in general should have their rights as a human being revoked. ; w;

As far as I'm concerned, you get one shot at owning a pet, and if you screw up that badly, you are done for good. I mean, if you did that to a kid, you wouldn't be allowed to care for another child ever again. Should be the same deal with pets.

Lathy- I agree. ;_; It just isn't right. Empathy is one of the things that makes us human, and if you can't feel empathy for animals... You usually aren't able to have a whole lot of empathy for people, either.

Yeah, I agree completely, Rommy. One shot, that's it. I wish the ASPCA were all over people like Child Services are over parents. The problem is, there's not that many laws regarding punishments for animal cruelty / lack of care, and there needs to be just as much for them as there are for children.

I watch those shows every now and again, whenever I get a chance to get on the tv. It really is sad how some of the stories are, but each episode is usually lightened up by a happy story or two. =)

I like to watch other animal shows, like 'From Underdog to Wonderdog', and 'It's Me or the Dog'. I love both of those, partly because I can relate with the animals, but also because I can get to see how different the animal acts after some changes. <3

I don't watch much on Animal Planet aside from this show every now and then, but I LOVE the Big Cat Diary show where the three teams travel across the African savanna and track a pride of lions, cheetahs, and leopards. The baby cubs are ADORABLE. <3

Yes yes. I respect that children and pets are different things, but man. Animals definitely need to be more well protected under the law.

And there's tons of laws regarding animals that need to be revised- for instance, the one about being able to shoot a dog on your property. Now, I can see how this would be necessary in some instances. When my mom was in college, she went to her boyfriend's house with her dog. The neighbor's dog got off it's chain, ran at my mom's dog who was laying in the yard, and was quite literally trying to kill him. Like, attempting to tear his throat out and just totally ripping him apart in the process.

My mom's boyfriend panicked and shot the other dog, because it was in his yard, and trying to kill another living creature, and neither of them could save my mom's dog without getting severly injured themselves.

Now, on the other hand, we used to have this neighbor who told people with dogs that he would shoot their dog if it so much as set foot in his yard. We live in suburbia, alright? Every other house has a dog or three. 99% of these dogs do get loose at some point, and 99% of those dogs that get loose wouldn't hurt a soul. He'd come out and clean his gun when dog owners were out and about in order to show it off. Once, I was with Ju and my cousins, and we were hiding in the club house with my dogs because he was cleaning his gun outside in his tradition, show-offy way. The oldest of us was in fourth grade. :/ There was a neighborhood party when he moved. Dead serious.

See, that law needs to be revised so it eliminates people like him.

...Huge rant is huge. o_o;

Max- It's Me or the Dog is great. Victoria is amazing!
