Fake- I've got (right now) four Mon-Wed-Fri classes and one Tue-Thurs class, but I'm done pretty early on MWF so I should have homework time then. And if I manage my time well I'll have a fair chunk of free time on weekends!
Max- Maybe I'll check that out, thanks for letting me know!
Awwww, I hope you feel better tomorrow.

No problem! Though, it's starting to get a bit scary with how fast it's going, now that we're trying to push for 500 pages by 6pm EST. :gonk:
I'm feeling a little better, especially this evening, though I got tons more sleep than I thought I was going to. Definitely ten hours, if not a bit more than that.

Fast threads just don't agree with me this event. ;a; I guess I've not had as much energy to devote to keeping up. Plus I'm running my own little thread, so I've been keeping a sharp eye on that instead of just chatting in all kinds of other threads.
Ten hours of sleep would be lovely. So it sounds like you're sleeping better these days?

Eh, getting decent amounts of sleep, like around 7 or 8 hours worth, but still not at hours that I would prefer. :gonk: Before last night, I had several nights in a row where I couldn't get to sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning, and then slept until 10 or 11. Last night I just went to bed a bit earlier, and was asleep a little after 11, but still slept until after 10. :gonk: I'm getting somewhat tired earlier in the evening, but it's still not enough to warrant me going to bed, unless I take some medicine to aid me, and that really shouldn't be taken until I'm ready to sleep. Which again tonight might be in the next hour or so. Another problem with getting up, is that I'm not hearing my alarms go off, and I have at least three on during the weekdays. :gonk: I've got to move my alarm clock, so it will be closer to my head, and I'll be able to hear it. Otherwise, I don't think I'll be able to hear it early enough come Thursday, which won't be a good thing.
I think part of me not being able to keep up with some of the fast threads, is that I've not got anyone specific I'm chatting with, and certainly not really anyone I've chatted with before, aside from casually. Not that I really understand myself why I'm not quite as able to chat with pixel strangers, but it's likely part because I haven't participated much at all in the last couple events. =/
----------
:o I just peeked back into Seito's thread, and it's gone absolutely crazy in there! Not only is it going by really fast, but they're also having a food fight, from the looks. :XP But, I'll just be taking my rear off to bed, especially since I just took some medicine that will make me a bit loopy before too long, if I don't get to bed here shortly. Maybe when I get up in the morning and can make it online, it won't be so crazy in the thread. :P

Max- Is there no way to turn up the sound on your alarm clock? :gonk: That sucks that they aren't waking you up!
Oh, I'm the same way! I'm always so awkward about talking to people, even if it's just online.

I didn't even see your last post, Rommy! :gonk: No, I don't think so, and the thing is pretty loud anyway. It's probably more that I've been deeply asleep when it rings, that it doesn't register in my brain. Occasionally I've heard it, but I was only half awake when I did, and then turned it off, because my brain wasn't functioning fully. But, that most often happened after going to sleep super late, so I don't even know why I tried at all to wake up after only a few short hours of sleep.
I'll likely not make it on during the day tomorrow until the evening, as I have this seminar to go to, where hopefully I'll learn lots of things that will help me on my job hunt. Though, I've never been to this building, and I don't even know how many people will even be there, but hopefully it won't be too horribly many. Right now I'm not even trying to think about it, because I know if I do, my nerves will be even more shot than they already are. :gonk:

If you've got a cell phone, have you tried your phone alarm? I know it varies by phone, but those suckers can be LOUD. And there's sometimes really obnoxious ringtones that can drag even the heaviest sleeper out of bed.
Good luck at the seminar! It'll probably be full of useful info for you, and I'm sure it'll be a good experience, even if you're a bit apprehensive about it. :3
Augh, my mom and brother said they were going to Dairy Queen, and I'm trying to loose weight, so I said I didn't want anything. And then they went to Subway instead. And "I don't want ice cream" apparently translates to, "I don't want dinner." :stare:

Oh, believe me, I've definitely got my cell phone's alarms set to go off. In fact, it regularly has three of my alarms set to go off during the week, and more often than not, even at their loudest, I can sometimes not hear them go off. :gonk: Like this morning, I put my phone right next to my pillow, and it wasn't blocked by anything, yet even with my ear right next to it, I still didn't hear it. :gonk: I might have to go through and see what the loudest ones are, but I'm pretty sure I have them all set to the loudest of my ringtones. I figure right now, though, I'll just head to bed a bit earlier, and get up earlier because of it. *crosses her fingers*
Thanks, I'm sure I will learn at least a few things. Plus, they'll have tips on calling people, which I can't stand to do in most situations. Phones scare me, seriously! But, somehow I can answer when I'm in a work setting, but there's no fooling my brain into that 'setting' when I'm not actually at work.
Heh, silly people. If they changed their minds while they were out, they should have said something. Just because you said no to one, doesn't mean you'll say no to the other. At first when I was reading that, I thought it said they went to DQ then to Subway, and I thought for sure they were intentionally ruining their dinners.
I'm about ready to eat dinner here in a few minutes, but I'm not sure if I want what everyone else is having, since my dad decided he wanted burgers and bratwurst on the grill again. After the other night, I wasn't so sure about eating them, and wondered if they got the meat from the same store, or if it was just me who felt off. But, it turns out it was the same store, but I'm the only one who felt off after eating dinner the other night. :gonk: Gah, probably stress related, or something.

Max- Eep! Well maybe you're right and it's just not getting enough sleep that makes you sleep through them. I only sleep through mine when I have the sound to low or when I am just completely exhausted and haven't gotten near enough sleep.
How did the seminar go? Well, I hope! (And phones scare me, too!)
They did end up going to DQ after Subway, so they successfully kept their appetites for dinner in tact!
Whatever you ate, I hope your stomach agreed with you this time. :3

@ Rommy: Yeah, that's more than likely it, unless my body just knows that I really don't have to get up at a certain time most days, and just keeps me asleep. But, luckily yesterday wasn't that bad for me getting up, and I actually woke up the first time just a few minutes before my first alarm was set to go off. I did snooze a bit longer, but I made sure I got up with enough time to spare so I could eat breakfast before I left.
The seminar went well, we got lots of information on job-hunting, and several sources we can use for research and all. Of course, in this day and age, it's more of who you know, rather than what you know, that can get you jobs easier. For me, the thing I liked least about it, but it's true, is that networking, and talking to people is more than likely to better able get my foot in the door somewhere, rather than aimlessly sending out generic resumes all over. :gonk: Being a salesperson, especially selling myself, is not my forte, especially considering how much of an introvert I generally am.
But, I've decided in the meantime, that while I still have some money coming in from the state for Unemployment, I'll just have to get a 'survival' job, and still look for my ideal job. Whether that be at one of these chain stores, like Walmart, or FiveBelow, or something similar, at least it will be some money coming in, that will be stable, so long as I'm employed. Plus, it will help to get me out of the house, since I really haven't gotten out all that much in the past four months.
Mm, now once again, I'm having cravings for a warm brownie, possibly with nuts, and vanilla ice cream on top. I had all but the brownie last night, but it made me realize that I've still yet to have a brownie. :illgetu: Maybe I can convince someone to get me some for my birthday. :eager:

Bloody 'ell, girl! I love ya, but really, one would think you'd let me out more often than every several months. But when you do let me out, it's after an event has just finished, just so you can play with my hair. :stare: Though, I guess I can't begrudge you that, as it does look more like my 'natural' hair color now. :) Now I guess I'll just have to make sure you don't keep me locked away for another eight or nine months, until you decide you want something else.
So, Miss Rommy! What do you think of my new hair color? Pretty neat looking, huh? ;)

Max- I'm glad that went well! And it sounds like it was helpful, so that's good, even if the tips are a bit difficult to act on since you're introverted. (I am as well, I feel your pain!)
That's a good plan, some income is better than no income, and I am sure the pay is generally better than unemployment checks. :3
Oh gosh, I plum forgot that your birthday was coming on up! I never know anyone's birthday, I'm always forgetting. :gonk: So I'm glad you mentioned it! (And I hope you get that brownie! ;))
Other Max- Hello, you dear! I do quite like the hair, it's very spiffy!

Yup, a lot of the information is good. I've got information on assessments for skills and whatnot that I'll be taking, and see what direction the results tell me to go.
I'll take what I can get at this point, seeing as right now I'm getting about half the weekly amount I earned, compared to when I was working. Unfortunately it's not an endless supply of money there, and getting an extension for unemployment isn't a guarantee. :( Hopefully I'll find something, even temporarily, before it comes to that.
I'm constantly checking the forum main page to see if anyone I know has a birthday, or 'stalking' their profiles. :XD Though, I know I'm bad sometimes with remembering birthdays, even of my own family members, let alone trying to remember how old certain cousins are.
I do hope I get some brownies, but at the least, I'm hoping that there's more acknowledgement from the family this year, as the past two years weren't the greatest. I've been trying for the past couple weeks to think of something I really want for the traditional birthday dinner we do for everyone, but nothing really has come to mind, and I've not really had a taste for much of anything, until today. I was thinking earlier, that we've not had any mac'n'cheese for a good while, and now I'm just debating whether I would want burgers with it, or a crab salad sandwich, for me, at least. :XP I'll just have to see how the next day and then some goes, as I've had some indigestion yesterday, and while it had been gone for the majority of today, it seems to have come back tonight. :gonk: I'll just have to take some pepto if it doesn't improve in a bit before I head to bed.
Now to switch character modes...
Ah, thank you, Miss Rommy. :D It didn't take quite so long as Rose had thought. She was preparing for 'hours of torture' for me to get it particularly right, like I want it, but thankfully for her, it took a little less than an hour. :) Maybe as a reward for not stressing her too much, she might let me out a bit more, and let me earn some gold while I'm out and about.

That's no problem, Rommy, and thanks, it was good. It was a quiet one, but I was most especially happy that my mom got brownies for me, and she even stuck the candles in the brownies for me to blow out.
Today, though, we've just been recovering a bit from Irene passing by last night, and I've spent a majority of my time between last night and today down in the basement sucking up water that has seeped through the walls. Aside from taking on a bit of water, we really didn't have too much damage to deal with, just a couple tree branches falling. Which is better than we had thought it would be, and better luck than a lot of other people are dealing with, between flooding, downed trees, and not having power.

Awwww! Birthday brownies sound lovely.
That sucks about the basement damage, but I'm glad you guys came out okay! I'm so glad that Irene ended up being way less destructive than expected, but I know it still caused tons of damage and power outages and killed at least 21 people, and there's still a high risk of flooding in some areas. :/ So I'm glad you're safe and mostly unscathed! I was in South Carolina with some friends and my mom, so we were all freaking out on high alert for two or three days, but Irene ended up not hitting SC and all we had to deal with was a day of rain and wind and monster, unsafe waves for two days. So we were really lucky!

Luckily where the water seeps in, is in an area we already knew about before, and does have some water seepage after heavy storms, especially when the ground is particularly saturated already. Thankfully we've been able to keep the water seepage maintained so that it hasn't gone out of the room it comes into, which oddly enough is where we have the computer. After some of the issues we've had with water leaks, and sewer backups, I'm glad I didn't take this particular room for my bedroom, as had been the original plan. :gonk: It doesn't help that it's pretty chilly down here most of the time, and I'm not really a big fan of that, and plus, I'd rather have a room where the window I do have, is actually able to open.
I'm absolutely glad as well, especially considering that we don't often see very many of these storms come up very often like Irene did. I can understand urging people to use caution, and what may come as a result of a hurricane, or anything similar, but I think a lot of this was major hype of what may come, and sent a lot of people into panic mode. Honestly, there were tons of people further inland where the effects weren't expected to be as bad, that were panicking on a scale that made it seem like they were expecting the Apocalypse. I'm not sure how much was caused by media hype, and how much was just the people going a bit overboard, but either way, I'm honestly glad that this whole situation is done and over with, except for some clean-up efforts.

Max- Seepage sucks no matter how you slice it, but good thing you have it contained! We had water seep into our whole basement once. That was a sad day. :gonk: Lots of stuff got ruined and thrown away. And yikes, lucky you got another room!
The media definitely over-hyped it, but maybe it's better that they did. better to be over-prepared than to brush it off!
Fake- Yicky, rotten food! Someone needs to clean out that fridge. :gonk:
