*fluffs the thread* Live thread live!

And curse being a poor college student!!

Uzura 02-13-2009 02:33 PM

Blah, I wanna take a break from college anyways. Like, take a year off and get an apartment and a job to get better settled in life. This semester is just not going well for me. I keep forgetting to do a whole bunch of easy assignments xP

BeautifulDisaster762 02-13-2009 02:37 PM

cool a tea party !!!! :D yay i love thea parties so much , im just tea addict !!! :D

Uzura 02-13-2009 02:53 PM

Mm, I love tea too. Do you have a favorite kind of tea?

fiarra 02-13-2009 05:30 PM

That's no good about the assignments. Although I totally understand since that happened to me sometimes.

The thing that sucks most is that it's so hard to find jobs....

Uzura 02-13-2009 06:25 PM

Yeah. I mean, right now I'm working on campus a couple hours each day, but all the money I earn goes right into my student account to pay for school related things. I haven't seen any of the money I've made in almost two years.

HIM_ROCK 02-13-2009 06:34 PM

I'm on your frilly thread stalking you.

Uzura 02-13-2009 06:36 PM

HIM! *tackles* <333

HIM_ROCK 02-13-2009 06:37 PM

I have a question about this fashion. WHY do they wear doilies on their head ?

Uzura 02-13-2009 06:42 PM

What? Something like this?
http://angelicpretty.jp-stores.com/g...d=3451&cn=7&p=

HIM_ROCK 02-13-2009 06:43 PM

That really does look like a doily. There's also the oblong ones that remind of a doily.

Uzura 02-13-2009 06:45 PM

It's just the style is all. The lace and ribbons go well with the outfits.

HIM_ROCK 02-13-2009 06:47 PM

They remind me of doilies because of the type of lace. I like lace....I needs to buy some.

Uzura 02-13-2009 06:52 PM

Yeah, sometimes I just want to get some lace and decorate something with it just to have some Lolita feel somewhere in my room. I kinda want to decorate my pencils with lace and ribbons and use them in class xD

HIM_ROCK 02-13-2009 07:01 PM

I want some victorian style lace to finnish off my corset but as of yet I haven't found any I like.

I like the lolita skirts but it's be a dickweed to get one shipped over to where I am. Seeing as it'd be comming from America or Japan. There are a few sites I've found that do Lolita clothing but it's not really what I've been looking for.

So I shall have to get me a sewing pattern and modify it then find material and lace I like.

Uzura 02-13-2009 07:04 PM

I'm taking a costume design course in hopes of learning some useful sewing techniques. Unfortunatly we're not gonna be doing much sewing for another month.

HIM_ROCK 02-13-2009 07:10 PM

I took textiles for a while when I was in school and it pretty much taught me nothing. It was mainly how the material was made and why it was chosen to make this product.
I've learnt most of my sewing skills from my mother and if we can we try and get second hand sewing patterns because most people do like we do and use baking paper to trace the pattern then modify it for them.

For lolita clothing I've only found one site so far as I have to go round the alternate clothing sites seeing as most sites don't do lolita style clothing.

Hurray for Drac In A Box. Let's all have a laugh at it now:

Uzura 02-13-2009 07:17 PM

I should really ask my grandmother to give me some lessons. She would be thrilled if I asked her. She's always trying to get me to be...more lady like I guess I should say. I mean, she's still disappointed that I don't know how to iron yet xD

And nice site o:

HIM_ROCK 02-13-2009 07:24 PM

Sewing is a very useful skill, it's one of the most useful skills you ever learn. And it saves alot of money if you can do it yourself rather than having to pay someone else to mend or alter something for you.

Drac In A Box doesn't have alot of lolita clothing but it does have items that you can piece together to make your own lolita style look. Having the victorian goth fashion phase going on helps as wellbecause you can frilly blouses and things.

Uzura 02-13-2009 09:45 PM

Some squaredance dresses can look lolita too. I found one for about $10 at my thrift store and with a few adjustments, the skirt can totally be lolita.

fiarra 02-14-2009 05:24 AM

*shudders at Drac in a Box site* ugh...

And I don't like headdresses. >.> I much prefer Alice bows.... I'm going to work with some fabric I have here to make a skirt and capelet sometime this week. I'll probably see if I can find a pattern for a nice bow as well.

Uzura 02-14-2009 04:26 PM

Happy Valentine's Day! I feel like going out with friends tonight and gorging myself with ice cream xD

fiarra 02-15-2009 05:53 AM

Same to you Uzu!

Pekopon 02-15-2009 08:27 AM

Does anyone own the english versions of the Gothic & Lolita Bibles? I found a recipe in the 3rd issue for meringues which I made for my girlfriend as a Valentine's gift :D
I love that there is an english version now! The sewing patterns are awesome and there are lots of interesting interviews~

fiarra 02-17-2009 06:09 PM

I have the first volume of the English. And maybe 8 of the Japanese?

Is the third volume the one with the boy and girl in the heart on the cover?
