Ah... Hello everyone. ^^;

I'm Foxberry or KokeMomo, or eh... Dana, whatever you want to call me. I'm 26 myself, so I guess I'm an old fart too when it comes to avatar sites; seeing as I'm one of the 39 between 25-30 on the "Age is more than a number" thread.

On another note; I am an avid cosplayer despite being older, but there are some things that comes with age when it comes to cosplay... Yaoi-con being one of these. XD haha. Ah well...

Just wanted to introduce myself, I may drop in from time to time.

@ Fox: I swear we keep ending up in the same places~

Well, I'll make my introduction here... I'm Kami, I'm not in my twenties yet, but next year I will be. I just turned nineteen. I don't know if I would be considered "old" but looking back at some of the ages of people on sites like this, it sure makes me feel that way. I remember not too long ago how one of my teachers was calling himself old when he was turning 23 or when the film editing teacher turned 21! DX And it seems like forever ago, but the latter teacher turned 21 when I was 16.

Welcome to both Kami and Fox! :)

And to Kami - I'm only 26 myself. I think that it's all relevance, and the fact that sites like this tend to have a much larger crowd between the 16-18 mark. Once you hit your 20s and beyond you're kind of a rarity. (Well apparently Mene has quite a few 20 somethings though, which is awesome!)

@Izumi: I've started to notice that. Well, when "we" (And I mean our group) started, we were pretty young. It's kind of weird when I talk to people and they say "I'm 14" It kinda makes me go "Huh... I was 14 when I started gaia..." It just all takes me back. I can't believe I've been hanging out online since I hit puberty, essentially.

That sounds about right for me too, Kami. I start off chatting on a program called IRC and I would hang out on the MTV server. Well until my dad logged in to see what it was about and then said that it wasn't suitable for a 13-14 year old. Then I found other IRC servers and hung out there. Then I started using "The Palace", back when it was brand new and they actually wanted you to pay to wear anything other than the default avatars.

Since then I kinda shied away from chat rooms, well until I came back the US after spending nearly five years in the UK. I was trying to put my life back together and I would log onto a chat room made for people who suffer from depression. That's how I met my husband. I was needing someone to talk to, to listen to my story, and when he logged on and bumped into me and started to listen we had a lot of common threads. We both suffer from depression/anxiety and we have both had hit our rock bottoms pretty early on in life - a time where we lost it all. Everything. And had to start from square one. From there we learned we had more things in common, and eventually we met up. We really hit it off and after a couple of visits I moved in with him and ended up getting married. Luckily this time it was only a 2 and a half hour drive, unlike my ex-husband living in another country!

Then I have this poor 33 year old friend who has never been married and longest relationship lasted 2 years. She's coming to me for relationship advice and I'm like I really didn't try to find it. I bumped into someone, we really got along well and the rest was history. The funny thing is she's the kind of girl who will get plenty of guys walking up to her to talk, whereas when I went out with her I was just that 'other girl' that was usually overlooked. I'm still trying to hook her up on a blind date with someone in hopes she just bumps into the right guy. No luck yet. :(

Hmm. Serious business going on here... I only read Izumi's most recent post because well... I'm too lazy to click back a page. :sweat: I'm visiting with my family in Michigan right now and I'm using my mom's laptop. I find they're kind of a pain. I mean, her screen is better than my ancient monitor back home, but the little finger pad-mouse thing is annoying. Give me a good ol' laser mouse any day. ><;;

Ohh what part of Michigan Exp? I live outside of the Grand Rapids area!

I'm sure you're family is telling you how hard hit the economy is and how it seems like everyone is struggling to find employment. (Of course there are people there that are sponging the government with no real plans of working..*can name a few close friends/family* :roll: I'm trying to get myself an education with the hopes of getting back on the bandwagon, and picking up what hours I can work. For what it's worth, I didn't claim last week...I made too much. :o )

Getting ready to go to the dentist here shortly...hubby is all nervous.

NEAR THE GRAND RAPIDS AREA?! I LIVE OUTSIDE GR TOO!! Holy crap! :rofl:

Hm, sponging off the government with no plans of working? Sounds like my mother-in-law and her lame ex-convict husband.

Haha. I love the dentist. I know, I'm crazy right? Well, growing up, my mom was a dental receptionist and all her friends are dental hygienists. :sweat:

Yes I do! We've gone to J-Fax the past two years, and I also have a handful of friends who are enrolled there. =3

It's a little bit of a drive from here, but it isn't too bad!
