Dimi: hmm I'm always bad at descriptions. But I would basically say that it's set in a medieval type setting in a world where magic has seemingly disappeared and where a season can last a hundred years. There are several different families in power, with one main ruling house at the time. Each chapter takes the perspective of a different character which enables you to know what's going on along the realm. Umm *looks at the back of the first book* hmm I wonder if I should quote this if I type it out or if I'm ok to just put " "'s around it?

@Shaddow: True. Although I didn't like the way the new version looks....so I kept ignoring them. xD

@Dimi: I probably could have. But I wasn't sure how.

jelly: it may not be, but there's no saying we can't make it one. remember, ain't wasn't a word for a long while, then it got put in the dictionary making my mom's argument against it invalid. whooo

So there you go. Just typing that made me want to reread it. :) The first book is pretty centered around the Starks, but it does branch out to the other families. One of my favorite characters is the exiled princess of the former ruling family. She's been doing interesting things on another continent. There's also a family of pirate type people who have become more like the other families but have that undercurrent of piracy left in them. (and some who want to go back to their traditional ways). The author does a really good job with the characters. A lot of them are grey characters, not necessarily good or evil, which I love. He's also really good at turning the plot on it's head. You can never be too certain where the story is going to end up. Author is George r. r. Martin by the way.

And thus ends my rant on this series unless any of you all have any questions. XD

@kitty: I'll install it after I get home from work tomorrow. If I'm not too tired, considering I have to close shop tomorrow night, only to go in and open shop on Wednesday... :sweat: I hate closing one night only to open the next morning... :stare: Doesn't leave much time for sleep. :XP
