I have an FM transmitter. You pick a station that doesn't have anything on it and the ipod plays through the radio. You can buy them at the Apple Store.
|
Yeah, I have one of those too....But it's hard to find a station where we live that isn't full (mariachi over my Tori Amos...Sucks!). Ohh hey Ruby, I have an assignment to a school district now:) It's a relief. We officially have one employeed person in our household....Now to just magic that into two....

Hiya Daria! Love the Avvie you got on there. Very vivid colors! Awesome about the job too.
I finally figured out what was wrong with my MP3 player - after making sure I had all the up-to-date software and such set up I took a look at the little connector thing that I use to plug the MP3 player in and it's extremely corroded. :( I'm going to need to buy a replacement part for it before I can use it again. |
Aww... corrosion is no fun... hope it's up and running soon ^_^
|
That's great Daria! Where at?
For my transmitter, I use 90.1 fm. Once in awhile I get static, but very rarely. What kind do you have? I have an expensive kind. I found it has better reception even if there is a little fuzzy talking on the fm station. I forget the name. I will look in the car and let you know next time. I am too lazy to get up  |
My sister has one of those for her car, it works great. I think she has an iTrip. I'm lucky in that my car came new with a cassette and a cd player so I could hook my iPod up that way.
|
@[email protected] Ipods... no idea how they work... never even touched one before... lol
|
Oh you are missing out! With the new ones you can play games, take pictures, load pictures, obviously play songs, watch movies. So many possibilities!
|
I must say the MP3 player is one of those items that have really revolutionized everyday life. I remember the days where I could only listen to one particular tape or CD while going for a walk - I now can hold every CD in my collection on something the size of a credit card (with a little added thickness. I'm loving it.

Hello My name is Iseril. I am new to Menewsha and decided to join the old farts R Us hangout. The only problem I find is that most of you seem to be pretty young still, lol. I know what is an old lady doing on a kids web community. Hey I am a child at heart. I love talking to the younger genrations. That way I can keep up with the grand kids. Yes I'm one of those cool grandmas that they all run to when their parents don't understand them. I also help them to understand their parents better as well. I like being in that position. Well I really just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to the group. Hope to see you all around.
|
Hehe I know we're not that old, Iseril, but you ever hung around a younger crowd that just made you feel like you must of aged? I guess that makes me feel a bit older than I really am...I start reading about kids going to school and having issues with their peers or issues with the opposite sex and it makes me think wow it's been ages since those days.
Anyways, welcome to Menewsha and I do hope you'll stop and chat with us! The more the merrier! :) |
I love love love my Ipod. I have an FM transmitter for my car that charges while it plays and also I bought an FM reciver for it if I want to listen to the radio I can. I live with a teenager and even got interested in some of her music. Im young again. Its so cool to be able to carry it everywhere. 4000 songs at my fingertips.
|
Hi there! I'm 23, so I figured I should come say hi at the very least. I'll probably hang around though.
The teenage group makes me feel way old. There's a generation gap forming that I think us twenty somethings are on the very tail of. I can identify more with my 30 year old sister than some of my 18 year old brothers friends. (My family is screwy, don't ask. =p) |
I'm only twenty. I feel so young. Bahaha.
|
Welcome to Menewsha Iseril! Don't worry about age. My Mom is 54 and plays World of Warcraft and is on Gaia and Neopets, and her oldest grand daughter is 17.
And man do I feel that age gap. One of my nieces just turned 13 and everything is drama, drama, drama. It's hysterical in a way and is totally preparing me for when I have kids. But we're extremely close, my older sisters are twins and one of the sisters lives next door with her family. Her daughters are a lot like our little sisters. It's funny to look back on your teen years (me recently looking at old blog post from when I was around 19 - 20) and realizing how much of a spaz you were. It's amazing how much you change even from your early 20s to your late 20s. |
It's kind of ridiculous, huh? I can't believe how dramatic I acted in high school. Every little thing was the end of the world. It's so nice that everything is finally settling down.
|
Wow! Hello to all the new faces who dropped by! :)
@hollowmoon - I know. Your 20s is such an interesting transitional period. You're finally trying to make it on your own, and your early twenties you're trying to settle yourself in the real world. I'm 26 and I can remember how turbulent 20-24 was. It's nice now that things have kind of slowed down, and I've settled into a relationship quite well. @ZaK - I remember in highschool, when you're worried about trying to make friends and wear 'cool' clothes and silly crap like that. When you were worried about rumours people were spreading about so and so being with so and so. It's amazing how insignificant all that is, and of course I was told that time and time again but you just don't realize until after the fact. I wish I could of gone back to my former self with the knowledge I know now and enjoyed my school years a bit more. |
Yes! Everyone told me the same thing. But I think its just something that everyone has to learn themselves.
|
Would've changed my life completely. I wouldn't have dropped out of school. I also would have made a lot of other smarter choices as well.
|
Your still super young Stu, can't you just do things differently now?
|
Yeah, as the song goes....
Yes, there are two paths you can go by But in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on. |
There are special programs for people to get a high school degree equivalent. Apparently Aaron's Ex-wife just finished the program and got hers at the ripe old age of 31! I think the oldest person to earn a diploma was 95...If that's something you seriously want to do I think you have the ability to go after it Jen. :)
|
^ What she said.
My sister dropped out of high school and got her GED before she would have originally graduated - then went on to go to college in Korea and is currently planning to become an English language teacher. |
Haha 'Oldfarts.' Excellent title. XD
I feel sympathetic towards those woman... Even though it took them yrs they finally got their diplomas. It only took me 4 yrs to get mine but thats only because I had a decent education. Thats awesome hollowmoon! I hope she enjoys life in Korea... I think it looks very beautiful there, but you'd have to be good at learning foreign languages. |
Thanks Thothy! :XD I thought it would be a cute title for a thread...I really wanted to encourage some of the older members to come out of the wood works and chat. I'm glad you stopped by. :)
