You've never seen snow before, or never on thanksgiving?
Mine was very meh. We packed all day, stopped for dinner and pretty much went straight back to packing. Moving sucks :(

PaintTheSkyRed 12-03-2009 03:50 AM

I have never seen snow before ever. Expect for the other day on Thanksgiving. First time to see snow ever. c:

Cool. I have a question for you =3 do you know of any good recipes for oatmeal raisin cookies?

PaintTheSkyRed 12-03-2009 09:26 PM

No sorry.

AlbaRosaria 12-04-2009 01:39 AM

This seems like a fun thread. Mind if I contribute? Fortunately, my mom has about three bookcases full of cookbooks alone and even more full of art books.

Taken from "Tastes of the Adirondack Restaurants."
Quote:

Pumpkin Bread
Makes: Two loaves.

2 c. sugar
1 c. vegetable oil
4 eggs
1/2 c. water
3 1/2 c. flour
4 t. cinnamon
2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. ground cloves
2 c. canned solid-packed pumpkins
1 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 c. raisins

1. Combine sugar with oil.
2. Mix water with eggs and beat in slowly, one egg at a time.
3. Add pumpkin, raisins, and nuts. Mix well.
5. Pour one-half mixture into each of 2 well-greased and floured load pans.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
When making it, I tweak it to my tastes in measuring and typically leave out the raisins and sometimes leave out the pecans as well. :)

Instead I made chocolate chip cookies with splenda's brown sugar, and they were a total hit. I shall post it probably tomorrow :)

PaintTheSkyRed 12-06-2009 04:01 AM

Oh, I don't like splenda. xD I am a fatty who likes sweet sugar.

AlbaRosaria 12-06-2009 04:23 AM

I agree with PaintTheSkyRed, no Splenda for me. XP

I don't like imitation vanilla, either. Doesn't have the same taste to it.

PaintTheSkyRed 12-06-2009 04:25 AM

I agree with that and thank you for agreeing. c:

AlbaRosaria 12-06-2009 04:30 AM

No problem, for it be the truth. XP

I just prefer the natural/original to imitations/alternatives, the tastes typically are more satisfactory to me.

PaintTheSkyRed 12-06-2009 04:31 AM

I think you are correct. I just prefer real stuff, it takes better.

AlbaRosaria 12-06-2009 04:36 AM

Agreed. And just because it is real, doesn't mean it is fattening. Look at all the people over the various generations that have eaten the very same thing and were healthy enough to go about their daily lives.

I just get mad at some people (around my area) that won't eat anything that has the real ingredients in it because they are 'too fattening'. ._. Personally, how they put it is an insult to my cooking.

PaintTheSkyRed 12-06-2009 04:44 AM

It would tick me off. =/ I think that will be offensive to hear people say and I think real is better. It is healither for you.

Diabetic Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookies
Quote:

2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup melted butter
1 cup Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
2 large eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Line cookie sheets with parchment paper
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in small bowl
Set aside
Mix butter and Splenda Brown Sugar Blend in a large bowl
Stir in eggs one at a time
Add vanilla and mix
Stir in flour mixture
Fold in chocolate chips
Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto cookie sheets
Bake for 11-13 minutes
Allow cookies to cool for 2 minutes before moving to wire racks to cool completely
From Splenda.com

These were a hit with my family, and they don't taste bad either. =3 The consistency of the batter is a little different than your regular chocolate chip cookie batter, but it's still good. I recommend eating them warm with a glass of milk. Enjoy!

PaintTheSkyRed 12-06-2009 05:32 PM

I made blueberry muffins this morning for breakfast. :D

Hot blueberry muffinns with real butter on top and a tall glass of milk is one of my favorite breakfasts! They are sooo good.

(I had blueberry waffles this morning) :D

PaintTheSkyRed 12-06-2009 05:39 PM

I hate butter so minus the butter is what I had for breakfast. xD

They're good without butter too, so long as there's an abundance of blueberries.

Oh yeah, any ideas on where I should place bread recipes? Should I change the pasta and rice section to grains and rice or something? Sorry if it seems like I do this a lot.

PaintTheSkyRed 12-06-2009 05:58 PM

I think it should be Pasta, Grains, and Rice.

Good idea! I don't know what I'd do without you sometimes. I'm such a scatterbrain. ^^;

PaintTheSkyRed 12-06-2009 06:18 PM

Its okay. And you haven't place my grandmother's recipe anywhere. :o I noticed last night since my friend asked for it and I couldn't get ahold of her on the phone and so I went on here, and it wasn't in the index first page. I had to go search for it through the pages to find it. Lol
