We had moved to a town about 13hrs away then after being there barely a month, my dad called me and said they had found a huge tumor on his liver and it was cancerous. I came back down but my hubby had to stay in college (he had grants, fin aid, etc)
So we went to MD Anderson, the #1 rated cancercenter in the world and they told him it was too late and gave him 5 months. They wouldnt even try chemo, so we found a doc who would and then we found out (through a biopsy MD wouldnt do) it wasnt even the super bad cancer they thought! So he has now done 3 rounds of chemoand it appears to be helping but its REALLY hard on him. My Dad has gone from 230lbs to 152lbs in about 2 months. Actually this Tuesday we find out if he can have the surgery that will cure him! (hopefully) |
:( that sucks, my great aunt died of breast cancer and my aunt is a cancer survivor, also breast cancer >.<

Oh my gosh, She! Do you want me to pray for him? (I know someone who gets offended when people say they'll pray for her without her permission, so I ask). I pray he gets the surgery!

There had never been any cancer in my family before or my friends and now, since this, I hear so many stories and it just seems to be everywhere. Its so hard and my heart just goes out to anyone who has been touched by it.
It doesnt bother me at all! I'll take any help/hope I can get!! |

I just get so afraid to get my hopes up. First we were like okay he'll do chemo, then they said it wasnt an option and the tumor was too big for surgery (it was 20 cm) So then we were like, okay, a transplant- maybe even a living transplant which you can do with marrow, lung, kidney, or liver. (btw, did you know your liver and skin are the only part of your baody that regenerates?) Then they said no transplants when the tumor is more than 7 cm, so once again we crashed. Finally we found this doctor who was willing to do something and he has just been SO wondefull |

That would scare me! Even if you didn't want kids anymore or anything still.... the thought of having the choice taken away, thats what bothers me.
My Dad keeps talking about how he wants grandkids and he's only been bringing it up since he got the cancer :/ |
I'm the youngest of 3, my mom's 47, she wasn't gonna have any more kids....

I want 2 or 3, but once my hubby and I are done with school. He's going back to finish his degree and I'm sloooowly working on mine (slowness is due to lack of funds)

get what you want to do out of the way so you can devote yourself to raising kids properly... that's my opinion anyway....
