That and if you're 26/28 or younger you might still be able to get insurance through parents.

@GrimWifey - Considering the fact that so many people in this country refuse to go to the doctor because they don't have health insurance, I can't see covering people as a bad thing. And while everyone must/will have it, there are various exceptions for people below the poverty line and such, but those are really the people who need it most.

Consider that most people without health insurance end up going to the hospital in emergency situations. The hospital is then obligated to treat them whether they have coverage or not. Then, they don't pay the bills and the bill gets passed on to the taxpayer anyway. So why not have that money going to cover them so they don't wait until they're on death's door and go in for emergency services or because they have a cold.

I never really need to go see the doctor because I'm never sick enough to, but on the few occasions where I needed it I went anyways, because most of the will work something out with you. Mine is awesome and does "no health care" people all the time (I fall into that category for the moment) and has payment plans for them.

@Cookie: I had no idea hospitals were supposed to do that. I do know that our health insurance isn't that much, when I used to have it. (I don't have it now since I'm "old". :XD) Cause, I had a cat scan once and mom was kinda fussing about how much it cost or something. We did have to pay for it ourselves in the end. Insurance didn't cover much of it.
My state sucks for those kinda things.

Another interesting fact, that taxpayer money going for the health insurance bill, is money that used to be for college grants and such. So...that's kinda a bad situation for those with low incomes.

I'm just sick of people having these knee jerk uninformed reactions (like the microchip thing). The bill is not all that bad, it will definitely need work, but I think it's a good foundation for where we want to eventually be as a country. In Europe, the American Health Care system is a joke. They run horror stories about how hospitals and the medical community treat Americans. They pity us and our broken system. Isn't it about time we start taking care of the US instead of running off to fight wars that nobody needs?

@Grimwifey - Covering older children is a good thing. And the money for healthcare can't be coming out of education grants because Obama just signed legislation to increase spending on education and actually completely changed the way that students of the future will acquire loans. :D
