Makes sense. There is a movement in the US to do that as well, to help cut down on plastic waste and push people to bringing in their own reusable bags.

Same with australia too, but its 10c a bag.

The idea behind it is that if it is expensive to do it, people will just start bringing their own bags to save money. It is actually a really smart idea.
