Its only cruel if you leave them outside. I plan on having an inside dog.
Outside for nights maybe, but I know how to properly care for them in the heat.
Lots of exercise, keep their hair short and groomed nicely, and keep the play pool nice and cool when theyre outside , stuff like that.

@Godlier - Even then, I can't see keeping a cold weather dog in such a hot place. I mean, dogs like to play outside. It's hard to let them play out in a place that they could get overheated so easily. I don't mean to offend, but I think this just shows the arrogance of humans in thinking that they can have what they want, wherever they want, regardless of what might be best for the animal.

@Wifey - :headdesk: So, this just happened with childish mom.

My mom bought some stupid rubber skeleton gloves for Halloween and came up her and started poking me in the face with them. Yeah, all in my ears and eyes and shit. WTF! So I got up and told her to get out and she's still trying to smack me in the face with those stupid things! I pushed her out of the room and closed the door and she put the finger of the gloves through and I shut it in the door and locked it. It was just the tip of the glove in the door, not her actual finger.

Then she stood out there and whined for me to give it back and I kept telling her no. She was like "I'm gonna stand here all night!" And I was like "fine." And she got pissed and told me she was gonna kick the door down. So I told her that was fine, she could replace it. Then she said she was going to call the sheriff to kick me out of the house *rolls eyes*

And this is how awesome it is to live with my mom -_-

I understand where your coming from, and I can see the logic, but atleast im giving one a home instead of letting them rott in the puppy farms out in the heat 24/7 with the breeders, where they're treated like a cash crop and not a part of a family, or god forbid what peta's doing to animals. Did you hear about the trial their going through where they dumped over 80 puppys and kittens into a dumpster over the span of 3 weeks because their freezer got too full?
Have you looked at www.petakillsanimals.com ? I understand your concern, but theres far worse fates than being a cold weather dog in the heat.

@Godlier - Well if people didn't buy puppies and make them a cash crop, then breeders wouldn't churn them out at the rate they do. Buy getting a puppy from a breeder, you're really just fueling the situation. If people want to really put a wrench in the works of back yard breeders and Peta killers, adopting from the pound is a better way to do it.

@Placebo - I don't know how she survived to be the age that she has. Probably cause my dad took care of her.

@Wifey - I know! Doing stupid kiddy shit for attention and then throwing a tantrum when there's consequences.

Ive been watching the pound in my county and the one in sunny slope, but they haven't gotten any huskies. They have some cute pugs at the one by my place though. I used to volunteer at the pound but I spend all my time looking for a real job now a days, but they keep me updated on what comes in, they know what i'm looking for. My dad owns a company right across the street from them and does sheet metal work for the pound regularly, so Ive been actively involved in a lot of the things they do since I was a youngin, during the summer I go in and clean cages and spend time with the animals there, and I assist the vet tech with the sick babies. I really hate going down there sometimes though because if they have a dog for more than 4 weeks they put it down, and it makes me very sad. If I had my own place, Id just take them all home with me. Its a very depressing place sometimes.

Hey you guys. I'm so sorry I haven't been on enough in the past couple of weeks. Just got the results of my math test today. Yes...I bombed it. 55%. FML. How was your day?
