@Naochi - Which is very odd, because the company that owns Taco Bell, Yum Brands, is the largest Fast Food chain in the world. They own Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Long John Silver's and A&W Restaurants. I guess between Pizza Hut and KFC, they rule the world since those are pretty universal brands. I had Pizza Hut while I was in Belgium. We were silly not to eat local foods, but we were school kids, it figures we'd eat pizza.

Cookie, yes Mitsie likes KFC but I dont D:<, when I was in Russia like the 4 night we were there and our last night in Moscow we had Mcdonalds it was better quality then what it was here :rofl: |
I don't like KFC either. Their quality has gone down hill. I remember, when I was little, we used to go there to get these tiny Chicken Little sandwiches that I loved! But they don't make those any more, haven't in years. Their chicken strip sandwiches are similar, but it's not the same. I always seem to get crappy service at KFC these days and the food just isn't that great. Since I'm in Louisiana, Popeye's is the big fried chicken chain here and it's so much better (even if the service sucks there too).
We had McDonald's in Moscow too! :rofl: Travel around the world just to eat McDonald's. I remember, I loved their coffee stirrers, because instead of little paddles, they were long like the paddles, but had a tiny spoon at the end. So cute! But when we went to Moscow, we were visiting a host school, so we had lunch at their school a few times. We had borscht there. I was reading something the other day that talked about how chicken nuggets in the UK have completely different ingredients. Less preservatives and such. This isn't the same article I read, but it talks about the same study, Not lovin' it: U.S. chicken McNuggets 'contain SILLY PUTTY chemical'. |
I like KFC myself - their fries are pretty good - and when you get them when they're not slacking, the chicken bowls are REALLY good. I had a chicken bowl delivered one time though and I was super disappointed. Whenever I get it right from the restaurant though - I love mah chicken bowls. :heart:
But you know, just because there's similar chemicals between foods and non-food items, doesn't mean they're bad, it just means there's similarities at base level. I mean...chicken mcnugggets aren't healthy anyhow. At all. Let's face it. No matter what chemicals there are - it's deep fried chicken. So if you eat it, of course it's going to be bad for you. :P It's sort of like when people are like 'omg there's artificial flavouring' - there's actually nothing BAD about artificial flavouring. It just means it's created rather than extracted. |

Wonderful... I've never been outside the U.S. And after being forced to watch numerous travel/horror/(gore) movies... I'm definitely not looking forward to travel abroad.

Some foods are always going to have preservatives, but the US's chicken nuggets have 20 grams more fat than the UK's version. Supposedly, the taste is consistent between both versions, but the US's also contains more chemicals. So the question is, if McDonald's can make chicken nuggets that taste the same and offer less fat and less chemicals, why are they giving us chicken nuggets full of unnecessary crap and fat? It's stupid. @Naochi - I don't like Denny's. =/ @Wraith - Travel/horror/gore movies? What the heck kind of movies do you watch? ^_^;; |

Yeah, it is pretty stupid, I agree - if they can make them healthier, why don't they - but the answer is: it's cheaper, number one, and number two, the UK probably has stricter food and health codes. So whatever they can GET AWAY WITH, they do.

@Renee - The UK definitely does have stricter health laws about their food. But still, McDonald's already has so many issues with the health of their food, you'd think they'd make the effort. But no. The last time I checked, Shepard's pie didn't have cheese. :gonk: I'm ok with KFC's chicken pot pies, but I'd rather make my own :D |
I used to work for McDonald's. Apparently they're going to stop using Alberta beef because there's not enough or something? I'm pretty sure they just want to purchase it cheaper in south america, where there aren't as strict of laws of waht they can feed the beef.
Unfortunately, that hasn't stopped me from eating there, because now that I've worked there, I've gotten sucked into the oversalted deliciousness. :( Hm. Well, if *I* was going to make Shepard's pie, I'd put cheese on it. And I think the version my mom's boyfriend made had cheese too. :P |

I watch horror movies as long as they're not Hostel movies. I normally watch action, fantasy, sci-fi and documentaries. I hate movies that people die in any fashion that I've actually witnessed. I went to therapy for years. Now my gf makes me watch them.
