Strange is surprised? Today's evening, you'll go to your fiance's grandpa and grandma's house. You're going to eat a family meal.. or meal with the family. Spoke alot about(or with?) his family? That, you will be part of their family come May next year(coming year).? Today's evening, you had fun. Now, you those two people... I don't get the rest.. XP Glove...gold?
Something about Christmas.. 後 threw me off.. D:
I found something that says that 変わったことある? (かわったことある?) is like "What's new?" How does that sound? :o

Past tense, but otherwise, yes
Past tense, also right otherwise
Hmm sorta. I actually meant we talked a lot as a family.
And the clarification is here that I will be their family May next year. よくできたね。
そうです。
Now I have presents from those two people (referring to his grandparents).
I have gloves and money, as well as something else (which in this specific case I left out because I forgot the last item lol. It was a scarf but I don't know how to say it without looking it up sooo yeah lol
「明後日」はひらがなで「あさって」です。 It was almost midnight. I said that on the 22nd of Dec, and with あさって meaning the day after tomorrow, do you know what I said?
Yes, I was asking what's new. I've never learned how so I was guessing but I think that makes sense.

Lawl.
I was saying I understand a little Japanese. :B I've been teaching myself (and learning from others) for a very long time (5/6 years.) But I'm not as far along as I should be really. :(
I agree, Texas is really hot.. And humid! I don't care for the state either. XD
Are you excited? I assume so. What part of Japan will you be going to?

I just...didn't know how to say the next bit in Japanese. I've been studying Japanese for about 3 years, and I feel like I've learned a lot but I am by no means perfect. *-*;;
えと。。。イクアキさんもテキサス人ですか。
Or have you just been unlucky enough to visit it? .:cough:.
I am SUPER excited to study there! I fell in love with Japan back in the 4th grade thanks to Sailor Moon (..pfft), and I've been studying up on the language and the culture since then. Lifelong dream come true. .:sniffle:.
おおさかに行く!
I'll be studying at Osaka University for the semester. ^_^

Still though, it's impressive. You must be a really good student, ne?
Haha, no I have just visited there and then been stuck there'd while I was in bootcamp. XD
Wow. I remember watching Sailor Moon when I was little! But I wasn't interested in Japan or Japanese because of it, that just came later for no reason.. XD But I did love that show. 83
That's inspiring though. Yeeey~
Is Japanese your major?
I would like it to be my minor, but I don't know how I would pay for it. XD Self-study it is for now!

Ahhh. Be lucky that you could go and then run. .:hisses at Texas:. D:
I especially don't like driving from place to place there because it takes foreeeeever to get anywhere. =_=;
Note: Apologies to any other Texans that are here that actually like the place. <3
I looooved Sailor Moon. H'omg. I remember being so excited because it would be on around the time I got home from school and I'd have to watch it. xD
What got you interested in Japan? :3
Nah, I'm an International Studies major. I'm minoring in Japanese though. ^_^
I just have to take a few more classes and I'll get it. I think some of the ones I'm taking in Japan will apply. Yippy~

A www, I think you could do it. Honestly I think I've learned way more in the past 6 months or so than I have all those other years. XD
Haha, yeah I am glad. Texas just isn't my state. I like Washington and Oregon though, out of the states I've visited.
Ew bad traffic. Once while driving in Atlanta (we were there for a vacation) it took us like 2 hours to get somewhere that was normally only supposed to take 15 minutes... Seriously Atlanta!? XD
That's the exact thing I did! After school, come home and watch it! Haha~
Really I have no idea... I just remember just.. getting into it. -shrug- My friend was interested in it, so maybe that's it. :D But I think it wasn't until a bit later that I really got into it, like culture and language wise.
Ooh nice. I am majoring in Illustration. I'm now looking into minoring Japanese though, since I've mentioned it again. XD
I just need to find a school nearby that offers it (check) and see how much it costs.

Eek. That traffic sounds awful. xD; I've only seen the inside of the airport in Atlanta. Hmhm.
Haha. Good old Sailor Moon. xD Actually, I've been re-watching all of the Japanese version of the series lately for old times sake (and the lols). Oh the memories~
Well hey, it's cool that you did get interested in it. 8D Three cheers to the friend who got you started. :3

yeah I agree.. Some people work better under pressure. I definitely think I would be a lot further along if I had an actual class and it counted. :p
Oh, so you're not going to be in school until then?
Awesome! My brother was stationed in those states for a little bit and we loved visiting him. My mom wants him to retire up there. XD
Haha. The Japanese versions are more different than the American ones because of America's editing and all. I think I tried looking for like.. original Sailor Moon DVDs or something but no luck. I'd like to have the original Pokemon series.. :Q
Yesss, Illustration is fun. I'm a bit nervous about it though because it's a pretty competitive industry but ah well.. I'll just try my best! XD
It looks like the university in my state offers Japanese as a minor. I just have to figure out how I can take it without taking extra BS classes because I've already taken those. And also how to pay for it. XD Damn expensive-ass schooling. :(

It's a bit hard doing it on your own. >3<;;
Especially for things like a language...I dunno. I just think it helps having someone there to help with pronunciation and grammar and such. xD
Nah, I'm just going to be sitting around until the end of March twiddling my thumbs. Um. I mean looking for a part-time job. Woo woo. アルバイトをしたい。
...well, it's actually not so much that I /want/ to do it as I could really use the extra money.
Oooh~
My only complaint with those states is how graaaay the skies are in the winter. Too much of the gray gloomy sky and I get sad. ;o;
Yea. All the editing really sucks. >3>;;
Ohhh, I've really wanted to go back and watch the original Pokemon all of a sudden. xD
Competitive or not, if that kind of stuff makes you happy then give it your all and have some fun in the process. x3!
I know finding a job is definitely important and all...but I really think it helps when you can be in a field that you enjoy. .:nodnod:.
...lawl. BS classes. I accidently took too many of those. *-*;; One was on accident but I took a few others just for the heck of it.
The expensive part is definitely a downside to ze university classes. Mm. >_<

Yeah definitely. I'm glad Japanese is consistent with its pronunciation. French, not so much. XD
Lmao! Well money is always good. Is the college paying for everything, when you go abroad? Like housing and all that?
I didn't know that! I've only visited them during the summer when it's nice. We even went hiking on Mount Rainer. :D An impromptu hike though. XD
I wish we could have seen Crater Lake, also, but.. something happened and we didn't go. :( Booo-
Yes. I am just nervous about it because I don't have a lot of practice under my belt and I am not a competitive person. I didn't decide Illustration was what I wanted to do until about a year and a half ago. XD
Ewww. I really hope I don't have to take any additional BS classes just for a minor in Japanese... Seriously..

Ohhh le francais. D: I studied French for five years and still...remember a little of it. It mostly boggled my mind though. @ [email protected];; I applaud it for being the language of lurve and all but eh...>_>;;
Well, I have some financial aid that will be covering the tuition and housing costs, but I have to pay out of pocket for food/airplane ticket/any travel I wanna do in country/things I wanna buy. I do /not/ wanna go to Japan with no monies. I would be very very sad indeed. T-T;;
(Going to an anime convention with no money is always depressing, so I figure going to Japan with no money would be like a million times worse. >___< )
Yea. Gray skies = no fun. D:
I've been there in the summer too and it was nice. It just amused me that all the people there were like OH MY GOSH hot!! and it was like...maybe 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Summers in Texas start in the 90s and only go hotter. =__=;;
I've never been to Mount Rainer. That sounds fun though~ I love hiking and seeing all the purdy scenery. *-*
Ohhh. Do you know what you'd like to do with it yet?
My future career choice keeps changing. @ [email protected]; Like...first I wanted to do some gov. work but now I'm leaning more towards teaching English. My main goal is to work abroad and hopefully not be stuck in a cubicle. xD

I only studied it in High School and now it has been so long I hardly remember any of it. x.x I joined the French hangout thread here though, to try and retain what little bit I have left. XD
I really would love to learn the language, but at this point I find it harder than Japanese.
That is good though, that it is covering the housing and tuition. Sucks you have to pay for the plane ticket though, those are expensive. Yes, bring lots of money! Japan is expensive. @ [email protected] There is an anime convention there.. well in Tokyo.. I think it is in the summer, so it would be neat if you could go. :D
I forget exactly when it is though, but it is pretty big.
Haaha. It's like that here too UGH! And the humidity makes it so much worse. A www, you should have gone! It was beautiful and relatively easy. I was wearing simple boots and a long skirt. And there was still huge ice chunks on the ground. So below your feet there would be green grass and blooming flowers and like 10 feet away there would be a huge ice thing! XD We made the mistake of not bringing water so towards the end, we were getting really thirsty and risked drinking the water runoff from one of the ice sheets. It made like a little stream. Definitely not the safest thing. Lmao. XD
I am honestly not sure. I would cove to just freelance, but that isn't very stable. I do know that I don't want to do children's books. XD
Ahaha. Well you still have some time. :B

First off I want to say ようこそ、エリカさん。 Is that how I should be spelling that?
みんなさんはお元気ですか。
新しいポストをあまり読みませんでしたけど、このことが分かれる。 ワシントンとオレゴンに住んでいた。 今ワシントンにいます。 日本はね、同じな天気です。 でも、本当本当綺麗です。 えぇとーっ 、it is just more humid.
umm.. it's easier to breathe. lol. And see the stars and such. Yes, there are more people in Japan, but the regulations are more strict, despite organizations like DEQ (Department of Environmental Quality) existing. (which btw I have an inside look on because my dad has worked there for the past 25+ years xD)
I do enjoy Washington and Oregon. It is truly very pretty. I have been to Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainer, and Mt. Saint Helens many times. (And Crater Lake once : P) I can see a mountain range from my window and it is very pretty. That is while where I spent most of my time in Oregon, you could mostly only see the mountains from a busy street. There are pretty forests and greenery in both, and it is true, there actually are seasons. As of late they haven't been as consistent as they used to be, but they do definitely exist. Like right now there is snow where I am.
But yeah basically like, Japan's weather stretches from like Canada (Hokkaido) to Mexico (Okinawa), except all of it is slightly to moderately more humid. If you are in Osaka the weather will be similar to that of ... well, basically a mix of Oregon and California. Just going on latitude, you could say more like Cali, but because of it's location to water, that is where it mixes in with Oregon weather. I actually have never been to Osaka. I was dying to but apparently my family didn't fit that into the trip despite my requests. I did spend about a week in Kyoto though. You can expect August to be the hottest time of the year. Bring a fan with you everywhere. (So yeah if you're used to Texas, it shouldn't be hard for you lol) But other than that, dw about it too much. It will be pretty moderate.
Lah dee dah, rant rant rant XD I should lay down now.
(病気です。)
Nice to see you all again (^.^);;

黒さん: すみません!!黒さんのポストをみませんでした。;O;
The Tefl thing sounds interesting and sounds like something I'd be interested. What kinda requirements does it have to get? o-o
I'd loooove to see Tokyo. *-* Oh and Kyoto as well. Other than that, no where in particular. xD Aimless traveling and see where I end up? I think yes. ^_^
アキさん: I think what I would like to do most in Japan is go to some festivals. Like...I used to read about a star festival in July and I've always wanted to go and check it out. *-*
I strongly dislike humidity. Especially when it's at the point of like...just open you mouth and you can drink the air. Ughughugh.
...oh gosh. xD Drinking the river run off does /not/ sound like a good idea. Haha.
I remember the first year I went to Oregon we went up to Mount Hood and I was really amazed that there was snow up there in June. It was mind boggling. xD
No childrens books? Aw. Those seem like they could be kinda fun~ Haha Ah well.
Strangeさん:はい、このspellingはいいです。^_^ How should your name be spelled? @ [email protected]
I think it'd be pretty cool to see the stars easily. I'm a sucker for a nice view of the night sky. x3
