Ikuaki: Hmm, this class is technically considered a photo class, but it's really about artist writing. Generally I take photography classes, but I'll be taking some more ceramic classes next quarter.
How about you?

Oooh~ What is your focus?
Mine is Illustration. I'm taking a figure drawing class (human form) and English-type class. Possibly similar to artist writing.
These are only my 3rd and 4th classes though. -nod-

Photography <3 I've taken a lot of art classes so far. First year was foundation classes, so I had to take three drawing classes, a digital, sculpture, and concepts class. After that, you can take whatever you want, so I've taken 5 photo classes (4 technically) and 2 ceramics. If you ever take ceramics, I recommend a wheel throwing class. I think it's better than hand-building, but that's just me.
Illustration? Cool!! How do you like your cla
I really wish I could draw, but I'm seriously terrible, which sucks because I'm trying to draw a propaganda poster. I know exactly what I want, but I can't friggin' draw it. Plus, it's due Monday, and it's my final, so I'm kind of freaking out about now, haha.

Ooh ok. I thought Photography, but was unsure because of the ceramic class.. xD
Yeah, this is my second drawing class so far and it's just the human form. The first drawing class was just.. shapes, drapery, and a face, but all in a fine art form. -shrug- Lot of shading and value.
My other class was about basic photography and working in Photoshop.
Oooh a throwing class eh? I'll keep that in mind.
I like my classes alright. They're uber expensive though is my only complaint. I was getting frustrated with them earlier though because we would have to draw like 5-7 drawings for that week. I was just getting tired of doing it over and over. XD
I just got done with my Artist Autobiography for the English class, but we're gearing up for another paper. And in the drawing class, we have to recreate this drawing:

So I'm nervous.. XDD!
I still have that issue too.. There are plenty of things I want to draw and can't because I'm just not at that level yet. Booo~

Yeah, I had a class like that. I don't have the patience for it, really, which is part of my problem. That and I can never take the image from my head and get it on paper. It sucks...
Yeah, I know how you feel about that one, I hate how expensive it is!
We had to do something similar, because we had the same still life set up for about three or four weeks. I was getting frustrated enough as it was without the repetition...In retrospect, drawing the same scene over and over did make it easier to draw, you know?
Ooh, that could be fun though! Do you have to recreate it exactly, or can you draw a naked man in there instead? Lol

My biggest issue with it is getting started. But starting things is my biggest issue with just about everything. xD!
I do get frustrated though, when I'm trying to correct a part and it's just not coming out right. I try to allow myself plenty of time and breaks because of it.
I knoooow. The cost makes me cry. ;~;
Well for this class we're also practicing different techniques. So it's not too bad if we have the same model because we'll be doing something different. It was very repetitive at first because we had the same model, but it seems now it's getting better because there's different models. :D
I'm assuming exactly. It just says to copy it. XD (Online classes)

Yeah, I understand that, especially when you're not in the mood for it. It makes working on a project that much harder >.<
And breaks are amazing. The only time I generally don't need breaks is when I'm working with ceramics, but that's because it's not as frustrating as photography (surprisingly) and you have to wait for things to dry sometimes anyways, so you're automatically forced to stop instead of going insane and having to stop...there is a difference, I swear! Haha
Ah, I see. Yeah, that makes a difference. Since this was a beginner's course, I don't think we changed it up that much. It was just, draw and learn...yeah...
That kinda sucks. I'd rather do my own thing rather than just copy something, but whatever. You kind of have to do whatever the teacher tells you in art classes. I'm hoping you get more freedom once you go out on your own, you know?

@黒
Aww, I would love to have art classes! But somehow the fashion school has ruined my motivation for drawing and that's why I didn't work on my art skills for years. *sigh*
It's just... well, they didn't let you get your own style. They also didn't care about what you made. You would think if you were creating fashion someone would like it if you were creative, but that just isn't the case - at least in the school were I was. And seeing how other students got better marks though their drawing sucked... I could start screaming when thinking of it! >_<
So now I try to get started again. I made a DA-Account and now I want to fill it with new pictures. I only uploaded old stuff until yet, but well it's just a few days old...
Wow, thank you! I'm so glad that my english is okay. Though I have to admit that I have to look up vocabulary often, so I always have a online-dictionary like leo open... xD"
You are right, I guess. Having fun with friends is what is important. You can also have fun with songs you just can't sing, right? ^^
Haha, in Japan we always went to karaoke at 10 or 11pm and stayed there until 4 or 5am. It's cheapest that way. You only pay 1000yen for that time (it's called Freetime) and all softdrinks are also included! =D
What I think is annoying is when you make karaoke with friends, who get pissed off if you want to sing ballads... >_>
あのう、最後のパーティはちょっと。。。友達はとても違う。がっこの友達や大学の友達などがある。そして、 みんなはいろいろな趣味がある。。。
It was very difficult, because I had friends I know from school, some from university and also relatives there and they wanted different things. I thought we would just play a game, but in the end they formed groups and everyone was talking only with people they knew. *sigh*
And I'm not the kind of person who likes to party in a club or something. That's too impersonal for me. I like them all to come to my place, so I can make a cake or my boyfriend makes cake and he can also mix great cocktails and so on. That worked a few times, but now there are just too many different people. x_x
本当に?!すごい!私はいつもシャイ。だから、ちょっとだけ日本語を話す。でも、ボーイフレンドは飲みすぎ た時いつもよく日本語を話す!
I'm really afraid of speaking Japanese, because I have the feeling my Japanese sucks completely. I guess my sentences are also completely wrong, lol.
But my boyfriend, who is much better by the way though he doesn't even study Japanese but did only learn it while studying Physics in the first place, gets always better when speaking Japanese when he is drunk. It's really funny... ^^
And I would really like to be able to think in Japanese when drunk. But I guess if that was the case I would start drinking... ^^"
@Iku
Good luck with getting the picture done. It looks so difficult... x_x

@Kuro: Yeah. I've found that I have a very small window of actually wanting to do this school work. xD I feel a bit guilty though, because I'm going to school for this and paying for it and I want it as a career, but I just don't feel the passion to do this that often!
The shading parts I don't mind. I can go without breaks for those at first, until you start having to get into the detail of them and be more careful about where you put on/take off value. @[email protected]
Lawl, ceramics does make you wait for it! :P
Well I think those two drawing classes were a beginner's course too.. People from all majors seem to be taking them. -shrug-
Lawl. Copying things is all I've done for these two art classes! XD One of the assignments just happens to be copying a drawing instead of a pose or object. It's less stressful in a way because you don't have to find inspiration for a project but also still frustrating because you have to be exact in what you're drawing.
I feel like I can never win with art.. XD
I'm sure as I advance in school there will be assignments related to creating your own art with your own ideas.

Aylin: Ehhhh that sucks! You'd think they'd want you to be more creative! I thought fashion was all about being fresh and edgy. Well, at least you're starting again, right?
No worries, I do the same thing with Japanese, although I think your English is better than my Japanese by far, haha :D
Ooh, I'll keep that in mind!! It's amazing to have fun with friends when it's cheap. It just makes the times that much sweeter, haha! Ah, but ballads are pretty! If you have rock all night it gets old, right? I always think that when you hear the slow and the fast songs together, you can appreciate both. There's my wisdom for the day...haha jk
ああ、これはちょっと大変ね。I agree though, I like small parties with friends, but sometimes it's hard getting everyone to know everyone else...
ええ、本当。とても面白かったと思う。^^ Ah, don't be afraid, especially not here! There's no judging, just helping when it's needed and lots of laughs ^^
Haha, that's probably a good thing, then! Drinking's expensive anyways, and it's more fun being sober, haha. That's cool that your boyfriend speaks Japanese too! Both of you are amazing with your multi-lingual abilities!! :D
IkuAki: Oh, I know the feeling. Ever since I started taking photo classes, I haven't taken nearly as many pictures on my own, and right now I'm completely lost on this project I have to get done, which is just fantastic~ haha. If you want my advice, when you're feeling like this, sometimes you just have to draw something on your own, just for you. It reminds you why you love what you're doing, lets you practice, and is a lot more relaxed than anything in class, I think.
Yeah, that makes sense. I would definitely have to take a break from that, especially my mad lack of skill, haha :D
We were actually pretty tight on who we let into the foundation courses, mostly because all the freshmen had to take them, so it was crowded. I think a few nonmajors got in though...
Hmm, that's true. When you think about it, most of art is copying one thing or another...maybe I just said something deep?? lol jk
If it makes you feel any better, I don't think you can lose with art either ^^
That is true. Thinking back, they didn't really force concepts on us until later on. I initially found concepts hard, especially considering I liked creating art because I thought it was pretty, or because I felt like it. They never took that as a legit answer, haha

Ooh yeah. I'm bad because I rarely feel the mood to draw things though, regardless of taking classes or not. XD!
Usually if I'm feeling really bad about it though, I go look at other people's art on DeviantArt and feel better because they are where I want to be.
Wow. I'm not really sure how lenient or strict they are on who gets into what classes. I don't recall seeing too many different majors in the first art class, but in this one seems to have quite a few different ones. I think there's only about 2 or 3 other Illustration majors.
Yeah. I know I just need a lot of practice because I wasn't really ... interested in art growing up so I missed out on a lot of that practice time.
I'm already thinking of concepts as hard! D: I did a thing for a while, where I would doodle something everyday and I ran out of inspiration a lot. A lot of the times I wasn't in the mood either so they were really half-assed doodles. I stopped doing it though around the holidays last year. And of course, now I'm in school, so.. I really don't have the extra energy motivation for that.. xD!

Ah, I see. Well as long as it helps that's great then :D
Yeah, concepts are kicking me in the ass right now. Sorry, this is going to be a mini rant, just a forewarning. I have to write this paper for my art class, and it's text as a piece of art so not like a typical essay or anything. So I have this piece I wrote a while ago as a ranting mechanism and it turned into something kind of cool, so I was going to vamp it up for class. I've been in touch with my teacher constantly on it since I'm not exactly sure of it, but the suggestions he gives me seem to go in a different direction and idea that I want to do. It's frustrating trying to do what I want and I almost feel like I'm butting heads with him on things, but I just can't articulate what I want right now, which is only more frustrating and why I'm currently resisting the urge to pound my head into the wall repeatedly. Unfortunately, it's due tomorrow, and I'm at a loss. I just want to write my damn paper, and in the same way I want to toss it because it's pissing me off.
So yeah, there's tonights frustrations, haha.

well I'm sure the teacher is just trying to help you in the way he knows how. Especially if you're having trouble expressing to him what you want.
Sometimes you just have to settle and do something you don't want to do to get the grade and just move on. @[email protected] I hope you're able to figure it out though. Today's the last day of this past Module. I just have to do that drawing I posted here earlier. :P

Yeah, he was. He's a really nice guy, but I was just stressed, lol. Still am, but he gave me an extension, so all is well. Pretty much he just wants me to focus on the visual part and turn that in Wed. and I can work on the text and send that to him whenever, since he knows I've been working my ass off on it. Truly a great teacher, nod.
I know it's smart to do that, but sometimes I just want to do my own concept and screw the grade, haha! :D
Lol, put the Pokemon down and back away slowly, Ikuaki-san!! Lol jk

Well it's just seeing the shapes that light makes on the form and shapes of negative space. Just another way to look at the same thing.. xD
That pokemon is the middle evolution of one of the starter Pokemon for Pokemon Black & White. It's a grass type called Snivy.
This is my favorite pokemon though because it reminds me of my chinchilla.. xD

I just like their latest game because it's a whole new region with new pokemon and no old pokemon until you finish the game.
