I'm not religious either, but I do want to get married in the church I used to go to. I have no idea why. I think it's probably because my Grandma isn't here any more and she wanted me to get married in church and that particular church was a huge part of my childhood. |

It's just basic crap, we have loads of family. The wedding is really expensive. I don't know how much the church is but the hotel thing I looked at first is £500 plus £38.90 per person that goes. Then there's food for the crappy reception and transport. Rings are £300-500. I want to get married in the church, I didn't before but now I do and I can't explain why. I didn't want to then after I was there for my Grandma's funeral I did.

Gonna be saving up forever the way the stupid economy is. :gonk: My familys not too bad, my Dad is slightly homophobic (except with his mate Raymond, don't ask why nobody knows) but he's 65 next year so he's kind of from the time when it was considered wrong. He won't usually say anything to them though, he generally keeps his opinions to himself until they've gone. Then I tell him off. Generally though my family aren't too bothered about peoples sexual preferences.
I don't like being around loads of people but my fiance has 25+ family that need to come and my Dad's family is quite large especially since I'm the youngest out of all my cousins and most of them have kids of their own which ads more people. So there's probably going to be like 40+ just family. -_- Plus now my Gran is gone my mum has become obsessed with want to include my Grandma's relative who I met for the first time at the funeral and then they didn't even bother to talk to us. My Gran told me before she died when we thought she could possibly get well enough to be able to make it that I didn't have to invite them because they never even bothered with her. Not even to see how she was. Her own brother didn't even come to the funeral. We need to find somewhere for us to live together first as well so that adds more time. We'll be lucky if we're married before we're 30 I think. :gonk: What happened to my sig? Am I the only one that doesn't see it? |

I don't know what it is with him, I think it could be because he knew Raymond before he came out as it were so he knew Raymond the person first as oppose to him just seeing him as Raymond the gay man. He says its partly because most of the women he works with are lesbians and they're not very nice people to be around. I find it best to just leave him to it, as far as I know he hasn't been offensive to anyone's face and I give him a bit of a bash when he starts and he always shuts up. Plus he's old so he's pretty much set in his ways.
I wasn't expecting her brothers to show up to be honest, they didn't bother going to their own mother's funeral so why would they go to their sister's. Her family aren't really all that nice. I mean one of them was saying (as he was leaving) how awful it is that he doesn't know these people that are in his family yet he didn't once come and talk to me the whole 8 hours he was there. We can't really go abroad, my dad won't fly (he had a uh bad experience coming back from Spain with his friends once, bloody funny if you ask me but he doesn't agree) and my mum won't go on a boat and neither of them have passports because of this and they can't afford the passport just to go to my wedding. |
