I'm planning to compete so I needed to be spiffy so I was picking WTH crap. xD;

I don't mean to sound so award hungry but I was looking into possibly placing/winning.

Someone dared me -in a way- to show what I've got. >.<; IDK. I felt... a little underestimated that I probably wouldn't be able to do it. So I was thinking MEH. I'M NOT THAT LAME.

@whitebeast: Don't be embarrassed! It's cool to want to do really well, and no one likes being underestimated. You show them! I hope you didn't take my back-up suggestion the same way you took your friend's dare. I'm just cautious with cosplays. Personally, I'd rather go as someone rather than no one - even if it's a last minute. I always have back-ups. My brother right now has 4 back-ups for ACEN this Spring. I guess you could say we're cautious folk, LOL. Have you decided which cosplay you're doing? If you want to place, the Persona chick would be HIGHLY impressive, but what do you think?

@Y.Sora: Have you found one, though? I'm having problems finding a leather unitard. :/ All of my searches are coming up with creepy men's dance wear and very very risque women's "clothing." *sigh*

nah not yet, don't exactly have the money for it right now, so Sora hasn't exactly looked XP

Yeah, I know what you mean. College is fiscally cruel to us cosplayers sometimes. :/ (you are in college right? I dunno why, but I keep thinking you are)

@whitebeast: Yeah, it's possible to have a back-up cosplay even when you're broke. If you're broke like, "Man, this month is tight, but I have $X," then you can thrift store a cosplay pretty easily. There are "everyday" characters that dress like "real" people. But if you are totally broke as in, "Wow. All my money has gone to bills/food/school and I have none for anything fun," you still have what is in your and your friends' and your family's closets. Once my brother and I were sorta broke, but still wanted to do multiple cosplays. So we added our back-up cosplays to our list of cosplays. Mine was a pre-Ouran Host Club Haruhi (just raided my dad's closet and tapped down my boobs), and my brothers was Brock from Pokemon (he really just had to dress like he normally did, glare a bit more, and hold a pokeball). But since this is a game themed convention (right?) easier back-up cosplays are generally in the more serious games like Heavy Rain, Silent Hill, etc. Speaking of Silent Hill, a Heather (SH 3) cosplay could be a nice back-up, too. When I pick a back-up, I just think "who dresses like a "normal" person" and I go with that.
But yeah, it's different for each person, so you may not want a back-up. If you are a "all or nothing!" type, it's cool to just be yourself and not cosplay in the case of impossible cosplay difficulties. No one will frown upon you for not cosplaying. It's for fun, and if you have more fun in a particular case by not cosplaying - so be it. :D

They both have green eyes and brown hair, and you'd be recognized pretty easily, too. I'll try to think of some more later, but I have homework calling me right now. :shock:

In real lif I would love to cosplay quite a few of my favorite characters. The first of course would be Kazutaka Muraki because he is my character of characters...lol. After that I want to cosplay as Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing. He is my other most favorite characters.

I truly enjoy the idea of doing so. I even think that I would have no real problem putting together an outfit for him. My doing Muraki may cost a little more however...I mean it's not going to be easy to get my hand on a full white tuxedo and a long white trench, not to mention getting my hands on a wig that will work. ^_^

When it comes to video game characters I would love to cosplay Aerith from Final Fantasy Seven. I think I may even have an outfit that would work, so I am highly considering doing so for STL Anime Convention. I even may have the hair color by then otherwise I will just go with my hair black and braid it...it's long enough to work. So I'm really looking forward to trying it. The other I'd love to try is going to take a bit more work, cause I really want to cosplay Reno from FFVII...or Vincent. I just really think that would be so much fun. ^_^

Hello. I've never actually tried cosplay before, but there's a convention coming up in the summer and I'd like to give it a try.

Sex: Female
Height: about 5'8''
Physique: I'm not really skinny, but I'm not that fat either. I'm kinda in the middle.
I look like: I have dark brown hair and eyes. My hair is wavy and goes just past my shoulders. I also wear glasses. My skin tone is really pale.
OPTIONAL THINGS BELOW:: I'm willing to look into the following:
Wigs: Yes
Hair Dye: Yes
Hair Cut: Yes
Contacts: No
Crossplay: Yes (preferred since I like wearing guys clothes and I'd rather not wear a dress of skirt)
Intense Costuming: No (I'd rather start off with something a little simpler)

@whitebeast: Why do you feel like a bad person? :( Cosplay is for fun. You don't need to prove yourself to anyone or jump through any hoops. I take back my "You show them!" from earlier. Don't worry about any sort of performance. Just aim for having fun. Cosplay how you would be most comfortable and while having the most fun. That's what cosplay is for anyway. Try not to worry about what other people say and/or think. Thinking too much about what other people think can just suffocate the fun out of everything - even cosplay. If you want to go to a con in a trash bag do it. What matters first is the cosplayer - not those around them.
@shinigamikarasu: Yay! Crossplay! I'll try to stick to brown eyed characters for you. Let me know if you have any specific requests like, "I totally feel like wearing a white wig," or whatever and I'll add some more in case you want to break out of being a brunette for a day/weekend/whatever.

Yep:) I'll try and get some pics of it if I can:) its my first cosplay so I'm a bit nervous lol. I'll be going to Spotlight (fabric store) tomorrow to get some fabric so I can start making it. Just wondering how I should make the staff though, that could be tricky.
