^w^ Thank you
A friend of mine is trying to encourage me into selling some of my artwork like this, I just really wanted as many opinions on the subject before hand.
I'd have to say the vest is my favorite. But then again I'm really partial to elves.

Hey, if you feel ready to sell art, than go for it! ^^ But if you don't feel ready, than I wouldn't. It's purely up to you. I know people always tell me I should accept commissions and sell my art, but I know I'm not ready for it, so I don't.
I mean, I personally think your art is good enough to be sold based on these shirts alone, and shirts are hard to paint on!
It's good your not rushing into it. Some artists tend to rush into things like that when they're clearly not ready to be selling stuff. =w=;

Skill level I feel ready, just that I need to learn the business side of selling my stuff. And building up the confidence to do so.
I have absolutely no idea where I should start. Like should I open up a journal on DA and advertise selling me stuff that way? Or start my own website? Stuff like that.
And yeah I know what you mean about artists not being ready. Poor things get such hate when everything fails and never understand that their problem was rushing into things.

I'd suggest to just start off small. Would it be commissions or already made art? If it's commissions, maybe you could do some little requests or avi art to get your name out there or something like that.
For already made art, you could use etsy or something like cafe-press maybe? ^^

Probably already made art. Commissions piss me off way too much, people are such picky bastards when they know it's not them doing all the artistic work.

Yeah, that's why I refuse to do art for a living. I can't draw what other people want me to for my life. It never translates exactly how they want it. >__<;
Yeah, then I suggest using etsy or cafe press. I don't really know the difference between them, but they're starting points. ^^

Might as well start with them then.
Though for right now I need to just buy the materials to make a ton of stuff.

Yeah that's' always a good idea. XD
And don't be afraid to make your prices kinda high-ish. You want to make some sort of profit. :3

Yeah I know, the price should be the sum of the materials plus a little extra. ^w^ Or so I've heard, granted I'm really bad about undercharging for almost everything I've ever done.
Granted that hand-sewn vest with the hand-painted design...>w> I've seen things like it go for like 50$
And yes I sewed that vest myself. >w>

Ahh sorry I was setting up a roleplay on Solia with my friend! XD
You're a good seamstress then! o_o; I wish I could sew. It's so complicated to me! @ [email protected]; You should definitely up the price on clothing you sew yourself!

^w^;; thanks...the vest used to be a pair of pants that had a rip in the crouch that was impossible to fix (The fabric was just to thin around that area) so with the left over fabric that was still good I decided to make the jeans still useful. Hate having to throw pieces of clothing away when they can be turned into something else.
Like this other pair of Tripps that got turned into a shoulder bag.
And good luck with your role play ^w^

That's really clever! Usually we just throw them away, which makes me really sad. :/ But no one in my house can sew. Maybe I'll start learning to sew through making BJD clothing!
It's weird, I can do the actual sewing fine. But when it comes to patterns, my brain explodes.
And thanks. We probably won't be starting until tomorrow because she just left. But I'm going to make the introduction post. :3 So I can just start now and wait till tomorrow for her reply.

^w^ I never use patterns.
But yes BJD clothes do help with giving basic concepts so that they can be translated onto a much larger scale. Or smaller scale. Which ever.

I tried doing patternless pants before, and I failed sooo hard. They were lopsided and icky looking. XDD I don't know where they are or anything.
Then I used a pattern and Kaden's butt was too big for the pants.
Kaden needs a diet. D:

Yeah that's definitely true! I really want to learn how to sew. So I'm going to keep trying! XD
Just wondering, do you have a machine or do you do it by hand? I do everything by hand and it takes me ages.

Just got a machine but I have no idea how to put the needle in it. @ [email protected]
So everything is by hand. Vest, bags, Makrua's clothes, everything.

It takes me forever to sew stuff by hand. @ [email protected]; Like, I spent all day sewing together Kadin's pants. Then I spent two days sewing a tiny marshmallow the size of my hand. xD;
I used a machine once, and I almost sewed my hair into the thing I was sewing. O_O; -had long hair back then-

OwO wow.....
Honestly I have never used a sewing machine a day in my life.
So my mom taught me a quick way to stitch that is pretty strong.

What is it if you don't mind me asking? The way I stitch is really slow, but it's strong. I think it's the backstitch? Where you go forward, than back, then forward again? Only it takes me forever. I don't remember the quicker stitch she taught me though.

The loop. Sew forward left up and sew through, and my hands are just really quick with it. Sometimes it depends on the fabric too. Like jean material can take me up to half and hour to sew into a back. >w>

Sorry I haven't been online, my computer is about to kick the bucket. I type, and the text freezes up the entire computer for typically 10 seconds. ._. And then there is the fact it doesn't want to start up. >.<
Anyways, how are ya'll?
