I find that facebook is a lot more sophistocated than myspace and you have more power over what you see and don't see.

Yeah, I know. But still. When I started to set mine up, when I was being fairly stingy with what I told it, it still started suggesting too many connections too quickly. Intellectually, I know it's just a big ol' database and it does that, but on a visceral level, it bothered me.
