this is the first time blackboard has acted up quite like this and especially so late when no one is trying to use it.

Ahhh blackboard, I have used that before. Seemed to be pretty solid, but they all break sometimes. And they might be doing maintenance or something. And college students love to work on stuff super late so that is kinda dumb.
