night tana. :)
|
All my friends growing up until jr. high were like size 1 (even 0) and were like gymnasts and cheerleaders and dancers. They never made me feel weird about being different though.
Then I switched schools cause I moved to a new town and it was hellish. I didn't know people could be so mean. o_o I dropped out in high school cause things got so bad. I want to be a teacher, or do something to help kids, because if I would have had someone like that I would have most likely finished school. But no one at my high school gave a damn. Night Tana. :) |
Me it was the opposite, with the exception of a few very good friends everyone made fun of me. Trough no fault of my own, I had curly hair and that made me different from everyone else. (now I love my hair)
Then we moved, and I became more outgoing, which helped tremendously. The fact that I reinvented myself was a good aid too. |
Kita: I understand completely sweetie. I might become a science teacher, because if I'd had a good one, I'd have known how much I love learning it.
|
Teaching kids is about one of the funnest things to do. And one of the most important too, teachers have such a grand influence on their students.
|
Saro::  That's how I am with history!
Papi:: That is very true. When I had good teachers, I was honor roll and considered for gifted courses, but I messed up on this test with blocks that confused the hell out of me. O_o;; I have certificates and ribbons and a medal that I'm kinda proud of for being advanced. But then I got to high school, and was having such a hard time, and no one cared. So I flipped and developed this attitude of "If you don't give a damn, then I don't give a damn." |
In my school, it was an implicit rule the only ones who could be mean were the best friends of your same sex, unless the girl takes on some man stuff like saying 'strong' words or setting backpacks inside-out.
And hell do I know how much of an influence a teacher can have on a student! I went from being the one sent to math contests to barely passing math at all, and now that I'm in college I have so many blank holes I'm dead sure I'm not passing Calculus. Crappy teachers are the worst! :illgetu: |
Tana generally always had the shitty ones, and I got so used to not doingy anything that it just stuck with me.....meh
I always hated math even though I'm generally good at it. |
Speaking of Calculus.. I had that in high school. I too was in advanced classes, well English anyway. The teacher for that class was awesome! She always made us think, and got us to get into discussions about the books we were reading. It was a pleasure to be in her class, and everyone in the advanced class adored her.

What a shame such a system does not exist in my country. I would often get extremely bored and lose interest in studies because teachers had to go slow - it doesn't matter if you're brilliant or if you're less-than-average, if you're about the same age, you're put in the same classroom with no option of choosing any class, not even PE. In fact, I heard you North American people change classrooms often? Here you stay the whole day in the same classroom, and the only thing that would change would be the teacher and the hours left until you can get out
|
that blows....I would end up murdering someone just to ease the boredum....Tana has ADD
|
ADD? No such thing in my country... ;)
|
bull shit
it's every where now i will admit that doctors, parents and teachers do give it to kids who don't really need it but there are some out there that do |
The thing is, that bipolar as well as a bunch of other disorders mimic the symptoms ADD and ADHD. But teachers, and such only know about those two and thus automatically make the assumption that that's it.
|
I know, almost everyone's got their "strange", but that hype about going to a psychologist hasn't reached my country yet. Psychologist = Madhouse nurse, therefore the "no ADD here" comment
|
I thought Bipolar had emotion issues....
ADD is an attention defficite...means you can't pay attention |
My aunt is bipolar, she's so annoying @[email protected] She's so hyperactive and changes subjects in a blink of the eye... Good thing she only came for vacations, I cannot imagine a life full of her! Don't get me wrong, she's actually a cool woman and I love her, it's just that too much exposure can be tiring... :XD
|
.....That sounda bit like Tana >.>
|
Actually ADD comes from too much input into your brain. You can't focus on one source of stimulus, because there are just too many and you can't block them out. Auditory processing disorders are similar, but only with sounds.
Bipolar has a phase called a "manic episode" wherein, you are basically high. Everything is interesting, or funny, and you cannot sit still for like three seconds. ...of course mine are somewhat severe, so... |
well Tana must go to bed. Tana is pooped.
And someone needs to marry me damn it |
Aww. Poor Tanna. Sleep good, and have pretty dreams about nice things.
|
Saro, how long do these episodes take? Because I never saw her sleeping @[email protected] In fact, she'd walk upstairs and downstairs until we fell asleep, after that we have no idea
Aww, why do you need to marry Tana? x) Have sweet dreams! ♥ |
kah: they can last a few days for some people, and not sleeping a night or two is fairly common. lol. It's kinda fun while it's happening, but it can switch to being pissed at everything really quick, and for no reason.
|
Goodnight Tana! Have sweet dreams!
What are you two discussing? Probably something I don't know very much about. |
They're talking about being bipolar/ people who are bipolar.
Kita is borderline, so its not as bad with her as it is for people who have it full on. However, she still has killer mood swings and can get crazy enough to scare people. Laughing like a total fucking maniac (I laughed so much this evening that I cried and lost my voice), getting in very dark moods where she wants to stab things (mostly figuratively lol), and things like that.
