Darn! EA is full of cheapskates. :gonk:
I'm thinking of going and getting Apartment Life in the next couple of weeks... C:
Just need to get to the mall sometime soon. No telling when that'll be!
But I really want to be a witch and do freaky things to trailer trash. Dx

I remember there was a huuuge debate on the Sims 2 site way back when... About whether or not to add magic to the game in an EP.
The debate finally came down to adding Apartments versus adding Magic... And luckily they fit both into one EP! So I want it badly... The Apartment feature alone is cool... I wish they would've made a fully-fledged Magic EP personally (there was SO much content in Makin' Magic for TS1! I never even played it personally, but I've heard tons of stories about how much there is to do, magic-wise!)... Although I'm glad they at least made Witches.
Blargh. Mall time, hopefully... -crosses fingers-
I love talking about the Sims!
Did any of you ever play The Sims Online (TSO)? It was around from about 2002 to 2007, and then was switched to 'EA Land' sometime in early 2008... Was supposed to be updated with TS2 graphics, etc., but, well... Then EA decided to shut it down since it was costing them more than they were making, and EA is just a money-hungry company like that. >w>;
Anyway, some of the Developers from EA quit their jobs with EA and branched off to make their own Sims-like game. I play it - it's still in constant development (weekly updates, tons of features to come), but it's really come a long way since August of '08, which was when it officially opened.
The game started literally days after EA Land (which was formerly TSO) closed... Pretty neat game, although it's a browser, flash-based game, so it can tend to be a CPU hog after a few hours of play...
Blah. I ramble. Sorry, trying to make conversation but instead I'm spewing crap outta my mouth. :gonk:

Oo, really? o: I hadn't known that. Well, I'm glad they were able to fit both in!
Can't say I did, no. D: I didn't even hear about it before now. Stinks that EA shut it down. :c I'd have rather liked to try playing it. What's the name of this other one? o3o I can at least play it a bit.
It's quite alright! o: You're more effective at starting a conversation than I am. :gonk:

Pfft, I just ramble on and on and on...
The game's called TirNua. =3
It's rendered a bit like Sims 1, so I suppose the graphics are a bit "behind the times" ... But it's come a looong way, like I said!
Our avatars - or "Personas" - were originally rendered in 2D, and in the very early days we were all female in red-flowered sundresses... Pretty scary time. ._. And then we became 3D, but looked like praying mantises! Annnd, thankfully, now we look more human. Although there's still room for improvement... but you can make your own custom clothes (not your own meshes, but you can upload your own patterns! There's been some neat mesh-editing by just uploading patterns!), as well as custom floor tiles.
The "Weekly Push"/update is every Wednesday or Thursday, depending. This week's was today, and we finally got our first "group object," so now we'll be able to work together! =3 It involves oil, not quite sure exactly how, since the game just went down again because there were some glitches involved in the update...
Anyway, the Development team works around the clock, since this is their full-time job; most of the community is made up of Simmers, and it's pretty neat. =3
Just look it up if you like! =D It's pretty neat, but like I said... You'd have to excuse the graphics - if you're the kind likes top-shelf graphics all the time, this may not be the game for you. xD Although to me, they're not as bad as they COULD be...

Offtopic; I'm going to see if I have time in the morning tomorrow to work on the guide post, starting with making a neighborhood and going clear through to house building. c: If someone who has Sims 3 has the opportunity to make such a guide as well- Iunno how clear that sort of thing is in S3- it would be appreciated. <3

I WANT TO BE A SIMER!
Name: KageShio
What Sims game do you have?: Sims 2
Any Expansions?: University, Pets, Nightlife and Open for Business
Do You Have Access to Custom Content?: Yes, I am addicted to it XD
Can you Make Custom Content?: uh, haven't quite figured that one out yet.
Examples of Families You've Made: (how am I to give one?)
Examples of Houses You've Made:
Examples of Pets You've Made (optional):
What Are You Comfortable Making?: Adult males and females, especially with a Gothic flair.
What Would You Prefer Not To Make?: Children and houses! (I reaaallllyy don't like making houses. I probably only will if I like the idea enough or am feeling ambitious.)
And that's it! Any notes you'd like to make or anything you'd like to mention?: I have a ton of Downloads and a fast connection to get more with 8D. Aaaaaaand! I can give a list of all the cheats, what they do and suggestions of how to use them best.

Also, for the examples you'd just take a screenshot and upload it to tiny pic or something. c: I will get you up in the blog/first page as soon as I can. Which will probably be late tomorrow/sunday, since I'm about to go collapse and die on my bed.

lol, I love you too? I'll get the cheats with uses and stuff posted sometime tonight, along with those examples, alright? Oh, and I want to be a Simee too, but I'll make me as my first Simee as a Simer.
----------
Ok, so, here is my list of the Cheats most used/useful, what they do and bugs I have found with them. I'll make a Guide of neat things to do with some of them later.
Notes:
~If you don't already know, to get the cheat bar prompter, you press Ctrl, Shift and the "C" key simultaneously.
~When you see this: [true/false], it means you type in either true(to turn the cheat on) or false [to turn it off]
~ If you see numbers like this: [0-10] then enter a number within the range there.
~Make sure you have the spaces in the right place! I type the cheats here as they should be put into the cheat prompt, minus the true or false if it applies.
Key:
!! means warning/ important info
@ Means it has the potential to get buggy and/or make the game crash
Neighborhood cheats:
familyFunds [family name] [amount]
Sets the chosen family's funds to the given level (does not add the amount given, but sets it). If the family name has a space in it, you can put it in quotes - i.e. to set the di Marco family's funds to 30,000 you'd do: familyFunds "di Marco" 300000
!! This cheat has always been wiggy for me, but maybe you will all have better luck !!
Build/buy mode cheats:
boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation [true/false]
Allows you to turn objects at 45 degree angles with the "</," key and the ">/." key.
!!This cheat can only be used if you have any of the following expansion packs: University, Pets, Open for Business and/or Nightlife.!!
@ Sims tend to have problems using objects effected by this cheat, I suggest it's used only for decorating purposes.
boolProp snapObjectsToGrid [true/false]
This cheat lets you fine-tune where you want to put things, rather then depending on the grid. Make sure you still leave room for movement for your Sims when using this cheat.
@ Most of the time, you cant use this cheat with windows and doors, they glitch with the walls and can't be used by Sims
deleteAllFences
deleteAllWalls
deleteAllHalfWalls
Deletes all fences, walls or half-walls in a lot, a quick fix instead of fighting with the ctrl/click way of getting rid of them
!! these cheats only work if you have the Pets expansion !!
!! You must be in Build mode for these to work!!
roofSlopeAngle [15-75]
Changes the angle of all roofs on the lot, try to stick to increments of 5 or 10, the lowest you can go is 15 and the highest is 75.
!!You must have Pets, Open for business and/or Nightlife for this cheat to work. !!
setHighestAllowedLevel [1-16]
Sets the amount of floors allowed, going higher than 16 will cause the game to crash.
!! you must have University, Pets, Open for Business and/or Nightlife for this cheat to work!!
@ If you have later expansions such as Vacation, This cheat might not work, or only work occasionally. I have no idea why this happens.
moveObjects [on/off]
Probably a cheat I use most, it allows you to move and delete objects you normally can't, as well as placing things where you couldn't before. I will make a guide on this amazing tool.
!! Deleting things such as trashcans, mailboxes and public phones can cause problems and bugs in gameplay!!
!! Note that this cheat uses on/off instead of true/false !!
Gameplay Cheats:
boolProp ControlPets [on/off]
Control your pets and assign them actions the way you do with Sims.
!! You need the Pets expansion to use this (kinda duh) !!
forceTwins
If your sim is pregnant, they will have twins.
!! As far as I know, you need either Pets or Open for Business for this cheat to work, but I'm not certain. !!
setHour [0-23]
Sets the hour of day
!! Again, as far as I know, It works if you have Pets or Open for Business. !!
maxMotives
Self-explanatory, it makes your Sims motives go up, making them happy. Works on your sims and NPCs
!! as far I know, it only works in Nightlife, Open for business and Pets. !!
kaching
Adds 1,000 simoleons to the current family funds.
motherlode
Adds 50,000 simoleons to the current family funds.
Misc cheats
expand
This will expand the Cheat prompt, allowing you to see what cheats you have typed and it will not close after you type one cheat, allowing you to input one after another without hitting Ctrl-Shift-C every time.
exit
closes the expanded cheat prompt.

Hey Lathrine, cool idea! I don't have TS2 installed anywhere anymore, but I have TS3 and I might be interested in doing something with that.. I think I'll try to make some folks later this afternoon and see if I can make anything look Mene-ish. I've subscribed and will return.

I've seen very little from TS3, so I'm interested in seeing what you'll come up with. o:

TS3 takes some getting used to. I don't know if that's good or bad, it's just different.
In TS2, I didn't play in live mode very often. I seemed to spend more time making houses, themed neighborhoods and tons of families than actually playing them.
With TS3 it's pretty much the opposite. Live mode is way more entertaining, with lots of little goals to work on (jobs add skills and requirements that are interactive -- I had a blast playing a policeman and interrogating & writing up reports on my neighbors) and the neighborhood is a lot more alive (people move in and out, get married, have babies, die of old age). The World Adventures xpack adds quests and tomb exploration, which is pretty slick. But I feel like building lots of houses or switching between lots of families just isn't feasible unless I turn off neighborhood progression/aging, which kind of ruins the game for me. So I tend to stick with one or two families in TS3.
