Thank you very much! Great place ya've started up here. I'm the moderately young crazy Californian student. :P

How're you doing today?

ljosberinn 03-18-2010 09:45 PM

I dare! Aru has been talking so much about you that it's strange finally seeing you here. I'm the excessively young (not really) London-based student. Good to meet you. :)

nemo.love_22 03-18-2010 09:47 PM

ljos: Hey there! -waves-

Gutter Glitter 03-18-2010 09:47 PM

This place seems to attract a lot of artists and californians. Haha - not that I mind, everyone is great here, really.

I'm all right. Just got back from a week of camping in the cold, dancing around bonfires and howling at the moon with my brother and a pack of dutch tourists we met on the road. On Monday it'll start all over again, but this time we're going to see mud pools and climb dormant volcanoes. Yay.

How are you 88?

Ljos! London-based, ja? Where's your home? Please tell me it's mainland Europa!

nemo.love_22 03-18-2010 09:50 PM

Glitter: Yeah, Californian Born and Raised. :) But won't be living here for much longer... possibly.

And sounds like fun!! :) Wish that I could go traveling.

And I'm doing pretty well. Just hoping that my Love will call me this weekend. And please call me Love (or Hope. :) )

ljosberinn 03-18-2010 09:50 PM

That sounds like an amazing week! Where are you doing all this, if you don't mind me asking?
And almost.. home is Iceland, some way off from the mainland. But at least it's Europe? P:

Edit: And hey Love, how was class? ^^

Gutter Glitter 03-18-2010 09:54 PM

Iceland. You just scored major points with me - I love that place to death, really. If I could possibly move there, I could. How old are you and why are you in grey old London?

I'm studying and working in New Zealand at the moment and my brother has come all the way over here to travel the nation with me. Needless to say we'll be stirring a lot of shit because the two of us together equal complete and utter nihilism but we shall come out unscathed. or at least partially.

I'll put both of you on the glitter list, since I've seen that you've been regulars here. I need to update it.

oh, and where do you hope to move, 88?

nemo.love_22 03-18-2010 09:56 PM

Well, as for moving, I really don't know where I'll be going to. I'll just be following my husband. And because he's being deployed so soon after our wedding, I may end up staying here in California till he's back, but we'll see. Not really totally sure yet.

ljos: Oh, it was good, we learned about plate tectonics. :) It was actually pretty interesting.

Gutter Glitter 03-18-2010 10:03 PM

Meh. I have my conscription coming up if I blow off my studies. So..

Wait, the government might be watching.

ljosberinn 03-18-2010 10:09 PM

Glitter, oh awesome. :D Have you been there before? I'm 21 and I'm in London to study photography and try new things. I love good ol' Iceland to death, but I am thoroughly enjoying my time here, and I doubt I'll be moving back to Iceland any time soon.. I'm hoping to either stay here for a bit after I finish my degree next year, or do a bit of traveling.
New Zealand sounds awesome, everyone I know who's been there has fallen completely for that country.. one girl I know from back home went there as an exchange student and only came back home to finish her studies before she moved there again to be with her boyfriend while he finished his studies. They've moved back to Iceland now. Pretty expensive to travel between the two countries though, I would never want a relationship that was that long distance!
So home for you is Germany? Ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch.. xP

I know Aru has been updating a member list of her own in the second post on the front page, though it's still unfinished. :)

Love, hehe, I actually liked learning about plate tectonics in college.. one of the few things I enjoyed about that course.. I've always been more about languages and arts than sciences. xD

nemo.love_22 03-18-2010 10:11 PM

ljos: Oh, yeah, it's pretty interesting, we just touched on the topic as it's just a really fast paced course. The course is Physical Geography. It's pretty interesting. I have issues with it, mainly just trying to remember so much info but at the same time, it's really awesome, because I have more to talk to my Da about. <3

Gutter Glitter 03-18-2010 10:28 PM

*dies momentarily*
her list is better than mine!

you speak a bit of German, ljos? I speak NO Icelandic and I wouldn't even try to for fear of making an arse of myself. but it's such an interesting language, though. It's like a linguistic time capsule. You're very, very fortunate person to have that language under your belt.

nemo.love_22 03-18-2010 10:30 PM

I know some American Sign Language. :P

Gutter Glitter 03-18-2010 10:32 PM

I know how to flip the bird.

nemo.love_22 03-18-2010 10:34 PM

Lol! Universally known. :P

My fiancee doesn't know much sign, so he gets frustrated when I get confused and just start signing which I do when I don''t know how to put into words what I am trying to say out loud.

ljosberinn 03-18-2010 10:36 PM

I did a few years of German in high school/college, but I haven't spoken it for so long now that I've gotten really rusty. I used to be alright at it, at least reading and writing. I love German though, it's such a shame I haven't been able to keep it up.
Hehe, Icelandic is weird. But I agree, I think it's awesome. 8D
I used to know some Icelandic Sign Language. I think Sign Language should be taught to everyone in school. I think it's the most beautiful language I've ever attempted learning, and I've attempted quite a few.

Gutter Glitter 03-18-2010 10:37 PM

About the only interesting thing I can do with my hands is play the piano, and music is a language we all know, ja?

nemo.love_22 03-18-2010 10:39 PM

Oh, the piano! I can play.... somewhat? Mum is much better at it than I am, but I love to tinker around on it. And yeah, love music. <3

Gutter Glitter 03-18-2010 10:40 PM

You love German, Ljos? You should talk to Aru. She's a Germanophile. It scares me sometimes XD

Oh, and you better have AIM.

ljosberinn 03-18-2010 10:46 PM

Ahh you're German and you play the piano? Nice. xD I play it as well, and the guitar a bit, though I'm terrible with music because I can never remember it.. I always need sheet music in front of me to play anything at all.
I think I'm just a glossophile. xD But I think German sounds beautiful.
Err.. no, I don't have AIM. I've got almost everything else, haha.

Gutter Glitter 03-18-2010 10:48 PM

Being German isn't a novelty! Being ICELANDIC is a novelty :P
I can't do guitar for shit. Seriously. I get too paranoid about getting my fingers calloused and whatever.
Call it vanity, but I just have this.. strange OCD thing with my hands and fingers. Perhaps Aru can put that on her list along with me being a slutty drunk.

*rubs his temples*

ok, Ljos - msn?

ljosberinn 03-18-2010 10:58 PM

But you can speak German! :P
I used to love having long fingernails and that kept me from playing the guitar for the longest time. Then they started breaking all the time and so I started cutting them and playing the guitar. I've not yet managed to keep at it for long enough to get proper callous that lasts for any amount of time, but I play it every now and then. I started playing it more when I moved to London, since I don't have a piano here to play, so I had to have something else instead.
Who isn't a slutty drunk, really? Uh.. >.>

I do have msn, I'll pm you my address though.. I get enough requests on it already from addresses I don't know, so I try not to publish it anywhere public.
