Ohh!!!! I get what you meant in the oc thread now. I read it wrong there. I took it as you came out to everyone in here! WOW was I off. CONGRATS! I would have said that sooner if I hadn't been totally idiotically oblivious to the real world. YAY! Good good!

ITS OKAY! =DD
Most people were shocked when I told them that I hadn't come out to them yet. xDD
Cuppy: Nah, its surprisingly common. Parents worry about that a lot, and to be on the safe side its good to expect the most extreme scenario to occur. Plus, there's kind of a standard in the States that if you're of a certain age you have to be in a relationship, and if you're not its because you can't, even if that's hardly the case.

No, it's not that weird. My mother used to tell people she thought I was completely a-sexual (yes, she even used that term) and claimed I never had boyfriends or girlfriends or anything (mean while I introduced her to all of them, of both gender, and called them my boyfriend or girlfriend in the process. She's smile and say hi and just totally ignore it.) She even walked in on me curled up under a blanket on the couch in our study one time making out with my first girlfriend. She just totally ignored it. Parents can be so strange.

Do you guys want to see a video of someone singing the song I have to sing for competition in a month. I just found it and its blowing my mind.

You know, I think your mom and my mom would get along well. Its not that she's stupid or anything, she just kind of skims over the little details.

My dad always refers to what my mom does as "selective tunnel-vision."
Cuppycake if you post the link I will totally check it out from my phone in a bit, but I can't view it on the work comps. Can't stream anything :-(

I know but I have never heard a tenor with that high of a range!
Do you want to see the same guy sing the song I wanted to sing but was then told by my choir teacher that it was a male only song and since I lack outer genitals that I couldn't sing it.

Cups, I think I live with the most flaming man in the state of Indiana. I have, indeed, heard a man sing that high.

Me too but I hate it when he tells we can't wear ties cause we are not boys we are young ladies and that the faculty thinks the same way. Or the fact that he pulled out that song and told me I could sing it but then told me I couldn't cause its a men only song even though there are like 8 videos of little girls singing the same song.
I know right he's even better then my tiny little choir teacher.

Yeah, that is a little narrow-minded. I think the only way that I can really justify a statement like that is if you live in a conservative area and he doesn't want people to think he has a choir full of dikes, but it doesn't really sound like that's his reasoning. -shrug-

Possibly. I don't really know. xD
But honestly, you'll run into people like that. Like... my brother orders me to take my hat off when I'm in his presence for some weird reason. -shrug-

Not to get us totally off topic, but I feel the need to tell everyone that New Years Eve is Steve's birthday :-) I know everyone will probably be out partying, but I'll be at work, and Steve says he isn't doing anything for either his birthday or new years eve, so I'm have a birthday party in his honor in our Lonely little Hotel thread here :-D

My brother was in charge of his fraternity, and if you wore a hat in the presence of a superior, or a woman, indoors it was disrespectful to said person. When we met for lunch at Applebee's the other day with my parents, he snapped at me to take the hat off. I don't know if he thought I was being disrespectful to dad, or to my mom, or to him, or what. But my dad looks around at the people in the bar and he's like... "well... that guy is wearing a hat. And that guy over there? Well, he's wearing a hat, too." (Then he laughed a bit because my dad likes to diffuse situations with humor.) My mom just kind of looked at my brother like she couldn't believe the way he was behaving in public. When she finally asked him why I should take my hat off, he said "its disrespectful" and kind of pouted a bit like he'd lost or something.
And while the hats being disrespectful may be true in his fraternity, I think he forgot that I'm a girl. And that, for the longest time, it was customary for everyone to wear hats outdoors, and quite common for women to wear them indoors as well. In fact, if you were a guest in someone's home, you did not take off your hat until they gave you permission because wearing a hat was the sign of being a guest. If the hat came off without permission, it was rude because you were stating that you were at home in the house without being officially welcomed.
Also, I think he was embarassed because it was a fancy bright red felt hat. He's intimidated by my ability to be at home with myself while wearing things that are outlandish. What can I say? i like to stand out.
EDIT: HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE! =DDD
Unfortunately, I'll be working.
And the day after.
