You have no idea how much I wish...
Unfortunately, I don't know the Language of Secrets that makes the transformation possible. I mean... I know how to write it, but the tradition is spoken. Even THEY don't know how to write it. >> Also, I believe their masks are made out of wood. Mine was made out of clay. u_u |
That makes sense though. I mean what good is writing your rituals down to someone who spends part of their time without opposable thumbs.
|
Hi Hyena hi swany how are you guys doing
|
That's one good point. They do not have thumbs when they're in hyena form. xD
I was thinking more along the lines of them just not needing a written language. Their people existed for generations through oral tradition; so much that the language itself became sacred. When people came to settle their oasis, they learned English, but because they were in such opposition to the settlers, the sacred language became the sound of rebellion and fear. The language always held a certain amount of magic, but when it was evoked for the purpose of saving their own people it became harnessable. Oh, hello Cups. |
Hi Hyena
hmm would diamond tights look too weird for prom |
Probably a bit too costume-y for a formal dance, in my opinion. Keep it classy with sheer black.
|
but my dress is going to be white or really light lilac and I want some color in there some where
|
I think the white dress with the black tights would be particularly classy. For the light lilac, though, I would go with a sheer hose or it would look like a muddle of color. For color, I would have a particularly vibrant color of accessories. A nice jewel tone for the white dress: red, turquoise, deep green, etc. For the lilac, I would stick with things in that color range: a more vibrant purple, for example. I'm personally not a fan of pastels so I have very little to offer in that area.
|
pastels are just blah
well the theme is black and white but I know almost no one is going to do that but I want to at least wear white and some epic color |
I'm with Hyena on this one. Go with the white dress and some really vibrant, super saturated accessories, then match your flowers to that color, maybe even have some sparkles or flowers of whatever accent color you pick worked into you're hair design for it.
|
I sees I sees oktay
|
Swan knows color theory! =DDD
|
As far as the tights for it, if you really wanna go with something dynamic, I'd still say stick with black. Putting your accent color on your legs isn't something I'd recommend, the contrast can actually make your legs look bigger than you may want them to. Maybe a nice floral sheer? It's still classy and elegant, but gives you that super unique spark.

I do too but I kinda go crazy
|
hey, you asked for an opinion. Lol. Don't ask if you don't want it :-p
|
opps sorry I had a typo moment and I was thinking of that I was going to go with black tights but I want them to be solid black not sheer
|
Ahhh, gotcha
|
lol if the world was a keyboard U and I would always be side by side
oh snap I just came up with that on the spot |
Color tights and opaque tights combined with a white dress make me think of clowns. You're making a dramatic statement already by wearing a shorter dress than the rest of the party, so proceed with caution when it comes to fine-tuning your look.
|
meh I like being a statement besides I got the legs to pull them off.
Plus my friends will just tell me how epic and stuff I look and give everyone else dirty looks sigh I gots to go to sleep now sadly night night |
*brain overloads from the last few posts*
Wow. |
I'm just saying... there's a difference between making a statement and being overstated. But whatever... its your prom.
My dress... was brown. I looked HOT in it. |
*scampers off to play in the dirt and wash the fashion talk from her brain* I am soooo not good at fashion. I think I just overloaded my brain in the last page or so trying to be helpful (though apparently the help wasn't actually wanted/needed? *is confused*)
On that note, my prom dress was.... non existent... we had no prom. But I wore a big floofy black gothic renaissance looking dress for my formal dinner my Jr year, and very feminine fitted skirt suite for the sr year (It looked allot like a semi sexy lady lawyer get up) |
My mom made me go. I didn't want to. But she said that I'd never get another chance to feel like a princess.
Yeah. Good thing that I felt like a princess. >> Mostly, I just felt itchy. ANYWAYS! Hyenas! They are SUPER INTERESTING! |
They are! I actually ended up reading about them tonight, oddly enough, as a quest to know more about the Servals. I don't even remember how I rabbit trailed from them to Hyena's, just kinda kept clicking new articles on Wikipedia and ended up reading bout them and the legendary "Hyena men" who apparently live with, raise, and train hyena's.They say they're not pets or guard dogs to them, they're a revered part of their family, and kept muzzled as a reminder to strangers that they are dangerous if provoked, not because they feel they need to muzzle them to be safe with them. It was really quite fascinating.
