Yeah! I'm super excited! First time meeting her! But we've been mates for about 5 years now - snail mail pals for about a year and a half almost 2 years now. :) I'm super excited! We keep on thinking of little things we need to figure out to do before we go - I'm going to talk to the bank about the best way to handle my money while down there next week, and things like that. I should start to make a list.
Yeah! It's as long as I felt that I could go without imposing on my mate and her hubby, who I'll be staying with.

So right now I'm so frustrated I feel like I just want to cry. [And I really should be in class right now but I'm just upset over all of this that I really know that I'd probably spend the 3 hours of class sitting there, really not doing much of anything.]

They're only offering ONE ASL 3 class next term and it's in the middle of the afternoon at Roseville Gateway! :headdesk: And I don't DRIVE! So now I have to figure out how to get over there between 2:30 and 4:35ish or whatever the time is and -sigh- I HATE this! Why in the world did they cut the evening class, and keep the class in the middle of the afternoon?? I'm actually seriously considering changing my major. As much as I love this major - I'm so freaking sick of them cutting classes that I need to take in order to get my degree and cutting down on the number of classes - I mean I do get that the budget is suffering, but first cutting the number... of people in classes (ASL 3 classes) from 40 to 25 (which I do totally get) and then getting rid of classes that work better for everyone I talk to all together! - I mean seriously! Evening classes work better for everyone that I've talked to - in my ASL 2 class we were asked my our teacher, who was asked to ask us by one of my classmates - how many people need to take ASL 3 - and like 13 people raised their hands. And then she asked us how many people have registered already, and only 1 (I think?) raised their hand. And then she asked us how many people aren't able to make it over to Roseville Gateway at that crazy hour in the middle of the afternoon? And all of us who hadn't registered yet all raised our hands. Which was like 11 or 12 of us. Which is just crazy! And if I'm not in ASL 3 next term, I'm totally thrown off with my time frame to get this degree, and I'm just so frustrated right now.... As for public transport, there is the Placer Transit (or whatever it's called) and I'm trying to figure out by Tuesday when I have to sign up for classes, if it would be possible for me to actually take the bus over there (which isn't far) and get back, and if I could do it around classes in the late afternoon/evening. I'm heading home for Spring Break tonight, and I want to sit down with my dad tonight and looking over schedules and class lists and figuring out if it would actually work for me to get myself over there for that afternoon class. I just can't think about this more right now (I'll deal with it tomorrow. :XD)- my brain is feeling scrambled and very blah like at the moment.

I'm actually also planning on writing to the dean and basically trying to see if it's possible to add in another class in evening - because without this class, as mentioned, I'm off track with getting my degree. Blah... whatever.

Thankfully I have a passport that is still valid so I didn't have to go through all of that again.

I doubt that'll work...I FINALLY managed to get registered for classes without having to deal with a $500 hold, and earlier in the semester (you guys might remembr this too), I had to deal with the thread of possibly getting kicked out of the dorm because of their stupid lockout policy. Okay, I get fining kids for locking themselves out, but do they have to have a policy that starts out with a high fine and gets higher every time they've gotta let you back in?

Colleges and universities are good at two things: giving you a good education, and pricing you out of that education. True, they may care about the students, but they want the money more.

What do you mean that you doubt that'll work... you doubt what'll work? Sorry, I'm confused... and really they're just screwing all of us who need these classes for the program (that they offer) to get our degrees.... Sorry, it just really pisses me off!

I meant I doubted that writing to the dean would work. The university cares more about the money than the students, so if they need to cut classes...then they'll probably cut whatever classes they want.

And don't worry, I can see WHY it would piss you off. I'm just glad all my classes are on-campus so I don't have to find some way to get to where the class is.

Well, we're just wanting to raise her awareness that they shouldn't have cut the evening class and cut the afternoon class instead. In my opinion they'd actually make the money required if they had a later class, because more people would actually be able to take it.
We've got like 5 campuses for our school so classes are spread out among them all - but I've lucked out so far with having all my classes on the main campus (where I live). I just know that if I can't get into this darned class, I'm totally screwed over with my plan for graduating.


Yeah, and I'm glad that my passport is already dealt with as well, makes things easier - I'm half here, trying to pack for 10 days at home. Knowing me I'll end up forgetting something. xD

Or maybe I could bring some to a cosplay photo shoot over the summer and convince one of my friends with a camera to take pictures. Who knows, you might get to see one of the Vocaloids eating one of those babies!

I would take my classes online but my major makes it so I need to be there in person for it.

And my mate who I'm going to visit next month said she'd make me a GIANT cupcake! So will get a piccy of it when she does! ^_^
