Agreed. I only started watching Prince of Tennis cause I read a few of Kodaka Kazuma's Prince of Tennis doujinshi >_>

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:22 AM

is this an online doujinshi? <.< >.>

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 08:24 AM

I downloaded them. I can send them if Yamichi is interested. I love Kodaka Kazuma and she always does fun doujinshi.

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:24 AM

yami would like them yes :eager:

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 08:28 AM

I should probably find the link I got them from and send you that. I didn't bookmark it though. *pokes through History*

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:30 AM

*rolls around* yami wants it

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 08:32 AM

Found it. I shall PM you. :D

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:32 AM

:squee: yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay *bounces around*

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 08:35 AM

I think that will make you a happy Yamikoi for a long while. :D

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:35 AM

mmmm doujinshi

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 08:38 AM

I tried to read some Prince of Tennis fanfiction but there are sooooooooooooooooo many damn characters with all the tennis teams and I haven't met them all. Even the ones I have watched, I don't remember their names so I have to stick with the Seigaku regulars or else I'm completely lost! :gonk:

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:38 AM

 I have a hard time remembering them too

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 08:43 AM

There's just so many of them! I had the same problem when I tried to read Eyeshield 21 fanfiction. So many names I didn't know. I gave up watching that anime.

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:46 AM

my friend loves that anime, I didn't think it was bad but it didn't really catch my interest

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 08:48 AM

It was ok. But it has the same problems that most shounen sports manga suffer from. It gets stuck in its formula and you see the same situations over and over so many times that you stop caring. I'm sure Prince of Tennis will end up that way for me too. We'll see how long I manage to hold out.

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:50 AM

I don't know how the anime plays out but the manga threw in some interesting drama here and there

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 08:55 AM

It follows what I call the shounen sports formula. Play match, draw it out, have main characters fall behind as everyone doubts them. Pull off some ridiculous miracle play. Win. Everybody's happy. Rinse and repeat with some extra fluff thrown in here and there, like the cute episode with Ryouma's cat.

Yamiko 04-27-2011 08:56 AM

I love kitties

ryouma loses a match or two.....

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 09:00 AM

Yeah, having characters always win really ruins the believability of the shows. And at least the special moves here aren't too out of this world...yet. I started watching this soccer anime called Inazuma Eleven and it was like it took place in an alternate universe where playing soccer gave you super powers.

I could only put up with it for two episodes of it. And I saw some doujin for it that were so disturbingly shota, I just didn't want to try to dive into that fandom. Prince of Tennis feels safer cause nobody looks the damn age other than Ryouma!

Yamiko 04-27-2011 09:06 AM

I've really into medical manga lately, it's all pretty realistic =3

that anime is completely fake looking, and the kids all have the hair and faces of high schoolers on child bodies...

the shota issue was a big problem with naruto fanfics and stuff when it first came out. people were making the nastiest shit up for those kids to do *shutters*

Prince of tennis is pretty accurate too, they just make it really flashy, I think of them all as high schoolers cause they don't look like middle schoolers, except for the 1st years.

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 09:10 AM

I've been following mostly other shounen titles, not sports, and a few shoujo lately. :)

The child bodies disturb me and those outfits. o.o No wonder it's full of disturbing shouta. I think it might be worse than Naruto cause they look younger. Although, the voice of the main character in Inazuma Eleven is also Naruto's voice.

My friend was horrified when I told her how old the Prince of Tennis characters are supposed to be. You're right though, you just can't look at them and think they're 13 and 14. They look too damn old!

Yamiko 04-27-2011 09:13 AM

I can't stand Naruto, it makes me cringe and think of annoying 10-12 year Narutards thinking they're awesome for liking one anime and that it's the best in the world and that they're otaku

oohhh that makes me think of jyuu oh sei, have you seen it? the age to look to voice doesn't match up in the slightest :XD

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 09:16 AM

Naruto wasn't bad. I rather liked that they had a big cast and most of the characters were endearing, but after a while, I didn't give a crap about the plot. It just went on too long and a bunch of junk I didn't care about was happening so I stopped reading.

I haven't. Maybe I'll have to poke at it. XD

Yamiko 04-27-2011 09:18 AM

yea I lost interest in the plot during the chuunin exams....

watch it in japanese with subtitles, the english voices will make you cringe, but you have to hear them at least once

For-Chan Cookie 04-27-2011 09:21 AM

Yes sir
