Yeah. Take that mom :P
Actually, I want to make my own cake. I want to make that really labor intensive, ingredient rich, and delicious Tropical Coconut cake.

It's delicious! But you need a looooot of eggs and it does take a long time. But it's so worth it! It's one of those cakes that you eat and go "Why was I ever satisfied with a boxed cake mix?!"

I have got to make me one of those.
Though, I've done that with lots of things.

Yeah, once I started making my own cream sauces for pasta, I get morally offended any time mom brings out some box of crap that claims to make alfredo sauce. Blargh. Blargh!

lol, boxed stuff is never as good as homemade.
Though, it's nice when you don't feel like cooking.

Well, you still have to cook the boxed stuff, so I'd rather spend the five extra minutes needed to make it tasty.

Lol, true. We get the jar stuff though for pasta, much easier. :)

I always open jars for tomato sauce, but not for a cream sauce. I prefer to make those :)

I don't think we've made much cream sauces at my house.
But it's probably a good idea. *nods*

Just noticed the thread title.
Wanted to drop in and say 'appy burday Cookie!
But I'm not in a mood to stick around.
Some personal issues causing me to be a little on the anti-social side right now.

It's not that hard. I even do it in a lazy way! Melt a bit of butter, add cream, let it reduce, add parmesan, then when I get tired of waiting for it to reduce and thicken, I toss in some cream cheese to make it happen. XD It also gets a bit of garlic and pepper and it's delicious!
