I was a young teen when it came out, but I was already interested in anime before Sailor Moon. :)

@Cookie: I rather liked Sailor Moon too when I was younger. But she lost her appeal after then billionth bad person popped up, and she gained yet another power.

@Jellybean - Yeah, I never actually watched the entire series from start to finish. I start a lot of longer running anime series and tend to drop them after time because they just fall into their formula and get stuck. :P

I think I watched it all the way to very last season when they had this tiny girl running around with them and then I missed a few episodes and then I was totally lost. Somehow the tiny girl turned out to be a sword or something. idontevenknow

I would have watched other anime's but Sailor Moon and the original Dragon Ball was really the only ones I knew about in Germany.

I wasn't even that terribly active posting during the event until the last day! That's when I had three threads open at once. The rest of the time I just stuck to Wallflowers and posted occasionally. I can't even imagine what some of the more dedicated posters hauled in.

I set the vcr to tape it a lot cause it would come on right before I got home from school :gonk:

@Jellybean - Yeah, I never got that far :rofl: And when they switched up the voice actresses for whatever weirdass reasons they had I couldn't even watch. Instead of changing out the entire cast they switched the voices of other girls to new girls and it made no damn sense! That was the dubs. I've never seen it in Japanese.

Oh, the story is somewhat different in the japanese, I think.

Every now and again I'll think about finding the series online and watching it all again but then I can't help but think "Gods, it's so mid '90's!" It kind of makes my teeth ache. xD

A lot of stuff was edited for it to show in America. They even changed genders of some of the characters like Zoicite. Wouldn't want the kids to see the ghey yanno.

Censorship is stupid. I mean, later on in the series they have the Sailor Star Fighters who are guys, but when they transform they turn into girls...that still look like guys to me >_> Guys with boobs.

They have such butch haircuts! Except for the gray haired one.

They had awkward super low and skinny pony tails.

They even show this one with a flat chest at the beach. After seeing that it's like their boobs are glued on!
