A friend and I camped out by the beach late on one of the nights the Geminids meteor shower was supposed to be visible. I usually go to bed early and wake up early so I was very sleepy. But i enjoyed the star gazing. My friend saw a shooting star, but I missed out on it. However, it was an interesting experience anyway, because my friend is very knowledgable about the different constellations and was pointing them out to me with the guidance of a star gazing night sky map that he'd given me one of my birthdays.

I spent fourth of July on a beach in Cape Cod. You could see fireworks from different towns. Including Martha's Vineyard. The ones from the Vineyard looked like they were coming up out of the ocean. There were ones set off on the beach as well.

I haven't been able to catch any of the regular meteor showers in a while due to my job, and mom needs to get up super early to babysit my cousin's daughter. Also light pollution where I live, I miss my hometown ;__;

I just don't like the town I live in right now XP. It's kiiind of a cesspool, and that crappyness tends to spread out to the surrounding towns.

Basically my area only has one major city, and from there there's a bunch of little towns and cornfields and such. Northern Illinois is not a very exciting place =__=
